Comments

Here’s the very latest casting information about who’s coming and who’s going on Beyond The Gates, Bold and Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital and Young and Restless.

Who’s Coming

Beyond The Gates

Jason Graham (Douglas McBride): Doug doles out advice for Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and some critical information to Jacob (Jibre Hordges).

Ernestine Johnson (Shanice Johnson): Ashley (Jen Jacob) calls on Shanice, who is a physical therapist in addition to being Ashley’s nursing supervisor, to help Derek (Ben Gavin).

Bold and Beautiful

Matthew Atkinson (Thomas Forrester): Digest broke the news last week that Atkinson is returning to the soap. The actor, who took over the role of Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Taylor’s (Rebecca Budig) son from Pierson Fodé in 2019, will be back on screen in early September. He was last seen in July 2024, when Thomas, along with his son, Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri), and fiancée, Paris (Diamond White), returned to France.

Miles Anderson (Foster): The bookshop’s owner will be seen again this week in scenes with Marlena (Deidre Hall), Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Rachel (Alice Halsey).

Karole Foreman (Judge Dabney): With Johnny’s (Carson Boatman) attempted murder trial of his father EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) continuing this week, the judge will continue to preside over the case.

Alice Halsey (Rachel Black): Rachel will be shopping and enjoying time with Grandma Marlena this week.

Timothy Hornor (Adam): As Johnny’s case continues, Leo’s (Greg Rikaart) fellow juror and hotel roommate will continue to be in the courtroom.

David Jite (Bailiff): As court is in session, a bailiff needs to be on hand. The actor has been seen in the TV shows Loyalty, where he had a recurring role, and films like Black Clown 2Big George Foreman and Christmas the Wright Way.

Thaao Penghlis (Tony DiMera): The eldest DiMera sibling continues his machinations with Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) to try to wrest control of the family company back from Titan.

Bradford Anderson (Damian Spinelli): Maxie (Kirsten Storms) has a health crisis that will put Spinelli front and center this week.

Susan Batten (Flora): The home shopping maven is back to help the Deception women launch a new product.

Cecily Elliott (Greta): The role of the courier who made her way to the Five Poppies has been recast. Greta will pop up again this week.

Lily Fisher (Georgie Spinelli): Maxie and Spinelli’s daughter is involved in the emotional aftermath of Maxie’s medical drama.

Gary James Fuller (James West): Maxie’s son will also appear in scenes surrounding her collapse.

Carolyn Hennesy (Diane Miller): The lawyer takes an important meeting with Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Michael (Rory Gibson).

Ryan Paevey (TBA): The news of the actor’s return to GH broke on Monday, and fans can expect to see Paevey back on the Port Charles scene in September. The actor got his start on the ABC soap as Nathan West back in 2013, and Nathan’s pairing with Maxie became a fan favorite. Paevey left the show in 2017, at which point Nathan died on-screen after being shot in the line of duty by his biological father, Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). At this point, the show is keeping mum about whether Nathan is slated for a return from the dead — like the one recently granted his sister, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) — or if Paevey will be appearing in a new role.

Vernee Watson (Stella Henry): Stella is in the hot seat this week thanks to Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) thirst for revenge.

Cait Fairbanks (Tessa Porter): Daniel (Michael Graziadei) sees a new side to the woman serving as his guitar tutor.

Who’s Going

General Hospital

Nicole Paggi (Maxie Jones): Last week marked the final appearance by Paggi, who has been intermittently pinch-hitting for Kirsten Storms since July 3.

In Memoriam

Tristan Rogers, who played Robert on GH, Colin on Y&R and Hunter on B&B, passed away from lung cancer on August 15, at the age of 79. The daytime community reacted to the sad news over the weekend. Chris McKenna, who plays WSB bureau chief Jack Brennan on GH wrote on X, “We fly the #WSB flags at half mast today. The great @tristanrogers aka Robert Scorpio has passed on. All my love to Tristan’s family and loved ones. He will be missed and never forgotten. #GH #RIPTristanRogers” Sean Kanan, who currently plays Deacon on B&B and played AJ on GH and whose show Studio City helped Rogers earn his Daytime Emmy win, wrote on Instagram, “I just learned that my friend Tristan has passed. I’m struggling to express my feelings which are raw. @michele.kanan and I have had countless adventures with Trissie Roo (my affectionate nickname for him) and his incredible wife @teresaprogers Tris and I worked together professionally on numerous projects. He was an extremely gifted actor and a kind and passionate man. His veneer was sometimes prickly and he didn’t suffer fools but he always made me laugh especially when he cracked that charming sideways grin and man did he have stories. I am going to miss my friend. Rest in peace, pal. Wishing the Rogers family love and strength during this difficult time.” Kate Linder, who plays Esther on Y&R, remembered her former co-worker on X, “My heart goes out to the family and friends of #TristanRogers I was so fortunate to have worked with him and to have spent time with Teresa and Tristan for many years. #sokind #sotalented #hewillbesorelymissed” GH guest star and longtime fan Yvette Nicole Brown shared on Instagram, “Rest in peace, dear man. I watched @tristanrogers73  “Robert Scorpio” on @generalhospitalabc my whole life. It was an honor to be in the same scene with him in the episode I did to honor @sonyaeddy. ❤️ You and @jacklyn.zeman are now both gone. 💔 What a legacy you both created. We will never forget you. ❤️ #TristanRogers

Lorna Raver, who played Helen Miller on Y&R in 1997 and later returned to the CBS soap as Rebecca Kaplan from 2006-07, has passed away at the age of 81. Raver replaced Millie Perkins in the latter role of mom to Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) — who was a Holocaust survivor. The SAG-AFTRA newsletter revealed that she passed away on May 12.

Danielle Spencer, most known for her role as Dee on What’s Happening — but who also appeared on DAYS as a Salem Place vendor in a 2001 episode — passed away at the age of 60. She had a battle with gastric cancer but her mother told TMZ she was hospitalized after a urinary tract infection turned septic, along with pneumonia in both lungs, and after suffering cardiac arrest, she passed away on August 11. In addition to reprising her famous character for the series’ sequel, What’s Happening Now!, she changed careers in 1993 and became a veterinarian, even playing one when asked by famed director/producer James L. Brooks for his film, As Good as It Gets.
