Five Things That Happened On June 8 In Soap History

In 1990, the masquerade ball aboard the Cruise of Deception began on Days of Our Lives, which included (from l.) Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford), Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves), Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) and Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston). The Salem-ites stay on the ship was ultimately filled with tragedy, as vengeful Ernesto Toscano detonated a bomb, and after he lured the survivors into a cave, he dangled Hope Williams Brady over a vat of acid. As a result of his mischief, Hope wound up presumed dead for several years.

In 2005, Kristina Wagner (pictured with John J. York as Mac Scorpio) exited General Hospital as Felicia Scorpio. Upon her departure, the role was recast with Sandra Ferguson. However, Ferguson was gone by fall. Wagner returned in 2007 for a short-term arc reprising the role, then came back again full-time in 2012.

In 2016, Days of Our Lives aired a special episode centered around Kristian Alfonso's Hope Williams Brady. Peter Reckell (r.) returned as Bo Brady, who appeared to his beloved in a dream (the character had seemingly died from a brain tumor the prior year). Also appearing in Hope's reverie were some characters Hope was far less fond of: Joseph Mascolo's Stefano DiMera (pictured), and ex Larry Welch. Scott Shilstone also appeared in the episode as the spirit of Bo and Hope's late son, Zack.

In 2018, Liam Spencer (Scott Clifton) had a lot on his mind on Bold and Beautiful. He and Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) had just welcomed their beautiful daughter, Kelly, and he had ended his engagement to Hope Logan. As they settled Kelly in after taking her home from the hospital, Liam shocked Steffy be telling her that he wanted to be a family in every sense of the word and remarry her. She feared that he was just caught up in the emotion of the birth of their child, but he reassured her. "When I look at you, I don't see the past anymore, I see the future," Liam declared. "And I want to spend the rest of my life with you and our daughter, because I love you. I do." Steffy was overjoyed and said yes to his proposal.

In 2012 on General Hospital, Heather Webber — who had just orchestrated the baby switch that left Sam McCall wrongly believing that her newborn son, Danny, had passed away — checked out the results of the DNA test showing that the true father of Sam's child was Jason Morgan, not Franco. Due to Heather's machinations, Sam and Jason were under the impression that Franco was the biological father, and while they remained in the dark for months, at least now the audience knew the truth! Heather smugly noted, "I get away with everything. It's amazing!"
