In 1995, Patrick Muldoon ended his first run on Days of Our Lives as Austin Reed. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest in 2015, he said of his decision to say good-bye to the show at the end of his first contract, "It was simply being young and curious to try other things.” DAYS recast Austin with Austin Peck, but Muldoon reprised the role for a stretch between 2011 and 2012.

In 2012 on Days of Our Lives, Jack (Matthew Ashford) and Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) Deveraux reconciled after an estrangement.
