What Did Jerry Jacks Do to the Quartermaines on General Hospital?

Comments

Tracy (Jane Elliot) and Jason (Steve Burton) were stunned on the Thursday, October 29 episode of General Hospital when Jude Jacks (Wil Traval) — who said he was the son of Jerry Jacks (Sebastian Roché) — arrived at the Quartermaine mansion and announced that he was Phoebe’s biological father. While they didn’t take his claims at face value, Jason and Tracy agreed that if the guy was Jerry’s son, he could be a big problem for the family, given everything his dad had done to them in the past.

Here’s a refresher on Jerry’s diabolical history with the Quartermaines.

How Jerry Wreaked Havoc on the Quartermaines

Jerry Jacks was busted for money laundering and arrested in 1999, but returned to Port Charles in 2007 with a new face and an alias: Mr. Craig.

Jerry had brokered an arms deal with notorious fellow criminal Lorenzo Alcazar (Ted King), and when he realized that the goods he sought were stashed in a vault at the Metro Court, he stormed the hotel with an army of masked gunmen. Among the hostages they took were Alan Quartermaine (Stuart Damon) and Emily Bowen-Quartermaine (Natalia Livingston).

The high-stress situation sent Alan into cardiac arrest. He collapsed and later died — and the Quartermaines understandably blamed “Mr. Craig” for his demise.

The Metro Court hostage crisis came to a boil with a shootout between “Mr. Craig” and Jason. When he resurfaced, he nearly killed Emily’s true love, Nikolas Cassadine (Tyler Christopher), to try to get his hands on the Cassadine fortune. As part of his scheme, he forced Emily to break international finance laws. He then used proof of her involvement to blackmail her loved ones.

In 2008, Jerry was an accomplice in a plan to kill Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) that went awry and resulted in young Michael Corinthos (then-Dylan Cash) — the biological son of AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) — taking a bullet to the head and languishing in a long-term coma.

When Michael came out of his coma, he skipped town with his sister Kristina (then-Lexi Ainsworth). Claudia Zacchara (Sarah Brown) tapped Jerry to track them down, believing that Michael was responsible for her recent miscarriage. She soon called off her revenge plan, but when Jerry caught up to Michael in Mexico in 2009, he decided to use him as bait so that he could make a move against Jason, who was also on the hunt for Michael.

Cue another violent encounter between Jason and Jerry, this time in a church in Mexico. They brawled, and Jerry left Jason behind to die when the building collapsed, shooting him twice for good measure. (Jason did survive, thanks to Sam.)

In 2012, Jerry made another splashy return to Port Charles with devious intentions. He released a deadly toxin into the Port Charles water supply and held the antidote as ransom. He succeeded in getting millions out of Tracy, while Edward Quartermaine (John Ingle) nearly died after drinking the tainted water.

In 2014, Jerry sidled up to Tracy at a café in Amsterdam while she was waiting for her husband, Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary). Jerry informed her that he had kidnapped Mr. Spencer. In exchange for Luke’s release, he demanded a controlling stake in ELQ. Tracy was willing to give up her own shares, but needed more, and pleaded with her family for help. Alan’s widow, Monica (Leslie Charleson), refused to give control of the family company over to Alan’s killer, but Tracy’s son, Ned (Wally Kurth), agreed to cede his shares to Jerry when Jerry threatened his daughter, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton).

Once he obtained the shares, he told Tracy that her husband was home — but the man he had actually delivered was Tracy’s former husband and Ned’s dad, Larry Ashton (Hugo Napier)! Eventually, Luke and Tracy were reunited.
