The Young & the Restless Comings & Goings: Roxanne Recast with Tetona Jackson, New Doctor Cast!
Tetona Jackson will debut on The Young and the Restless in November as a recast Roxanne Barrington, TV Insider revealed. The character, originally played by current Dancing with the Stars contestant Tatyana Ali, first appeared on the show from 2007 to 2013 and was romantically linked to Devon Winters (Bryton James).
Also joining the cast of The Young and the Restless is Fareed Ward, who has appeared on NBC’s Will & Grace and briefly played Larry on All My Children in 2010. He will play the role of Dr. Andrew Bishop, who works with Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) and Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) at Genoa City Memorial.
Tetona Jackson and Fareed Ward are the first additions to the cast since Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor were hired as Y&R’s new head writers in July. Their material is set to begin airing on Wednesday, November 11.
Tetona Jackson Joins Y&R as Roxanne
A daytime soap opera newcomer, Jackson’s television credits include starring roles as Simone Graham on BET’s Boomerang, Cassie Fulner on Hulu’s All Night and Nina Fulton on CBS’ Poppa’s House, as well as recurring roles as Mabel “Ladle” on Freeform’s Good Trouble and JoJo on ABC’s Home Economics. Other TV appearances include episodes of NBC’s Chicago Med and The CW’s Dynasty and the films Maximum Ride and All Styles.
Jackson comes from a showbiz background; her father, Fred Jackson, Jr., is a jazz musician who has recorded with Earth, Wind & Fire, Gladys Knight, Rick James and Herbie Hancock, among other luminaries. A parent herself, she shares a 5-year-old daughter with General Hospital alum Tequan Richmond (ex-TJ Ashford), who was her co-star on Boomerang.

Who is Roxanne on Y&R?
Tatyana Ali won four NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Actress in a Daytime Drama Series for her portrayal of Roxanne. The character began dating Devon in 2007, but their relationship fell apart in 2009 when she caught him having sex with Tyra (Eva Marcille).
Eventually, Devon made his way back into Roxanne’s good graces and their on-again romance hummed along nicely until Devon inherited billions from his grandmother, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) and gave her a debit card that got flagged for excessive spending. Devon accused Roxanne of being a gold digger, when in reality, she’d put down a deposit for them to move into a condo together. Devon apologized for thinking the worst of her, but Roxy wasn’t having it. She walked out on Devon for good — or so it seemed…
