The Young and the Restless: Matt Blows up Nick, Sharon, Noah, and Adam — Who Will Survive?
Matt Clark (Roger Howarth) left Nick (Joshua Morrow), Sharon (Sharon Case), Noah (Lucas Adams) and Adam (Mark Grossman) in an abandoned gas station to die on Young and Restless. And, in the April 28 episode, the psycho hastened things along by setting off an explosion to ensure no one would get out alive! Here’s how it all went down.
No Way Out
After luring Sharon and Noah out to a run-down gas station in the Nevada desert, Matt chained them to the wall and left them there as bait to draw in Nick and Adam. Once the brothers arrived to rescue Sharon and Noah, Nick collapsed and groaned that the pills he had just popped were much stronger. Watching from his car via a hidden camera sending a video feed to his phone, Matt sneered, “Little Rich Boy Newman finally hit on the bag from the bad batch. What a shame.”
As Nick struggled to breathe, Noah and Sharon insisted he should be rushed to the hospital, but Adam refused to leave them behind. He quickly found a bolt cutter and used the tool to set them free.
Noah and Sharon managed to get Nick to sit up, and Adam retrieved some water out of the car for him to drink. They tried to get him to stand so they could get to the vehicles, but Nick was unable to get far. Sharon didn’t understand why Nick had taken pills. Adam explained that Nick had been in bad shape on the way out there, so he’d allowed him to take more drugs. Then, post-rescue, he planned to get Nick into rehab.
Noah assumed the drugs came from Matt, and Adam related how the villain had locked them in a storage room, where Nick claimed Matt had dosed him with fentanyl. But Sharon realized that if Nick was going through this kind of withdrawal, it meant he’d been taking drugs for a while now. Adam agreed with that, as well as her theory that Matt had slipped Nick some tainted pills.

A Desperate Move
Matt called Riza (Tina Casciani) at the Vegas hotel to let her know that he knew she’d lied to him about Nick and Adam leaving town because they’d arrived at the gas station he’d been using as the base of operations for his drug-running. “I have the Newman clan cornered,” he gloated. “They are right where I wanted them all along.” He boasted about the new security measures he’d implemented at the gas station, declaring, “There’s gonna be a huge fireball. Like, epic. And the Newmans are gonna have a front-row seat.”
After Matt hung up, Riza updated a panicked Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) on Matt’s dastardly plan. Chelsea begged her to call back and try to stop him, but when Riza tried, he’d already blocked her number. Chelsea suddenly had an idea and called “the one person I know who can make miracles happen — and has the resources to do it.” Back in Genoa City, Victor (Eric Braeden) answered the phone, and after Chelsea explained the situation, told her to send him the coordinates immediately.
Last Chance
While Nick asked to rest so he could get his strength back and they could leave, Sharon lamented that Matt had taken all of their cell phones. Noah suggested one of them go for help, but Nick passed out again. Sharon insisted they had no time to waste, and they all agreed to carry Nick to the car.
On her way to the gas station, Sienna (Tamara Braun) saw Matt’s car on the side of the road, so she pulled over and jumped in. Confronting him about locking the Newmans in the gas station, she urged him to reconsider whatever he was planning and let them go. When Matt wondered what he’d get in return, she replied, “Me.”
Sienna pleaded with Matt to remember what they once had, and promised they could have it again, but Matt wasn’t buying any of it. “Please say it’s not too late,” she begged. In response, he swiped the image of the gas station off his phone, replacing it with a remote detonator. Without even looking at Sienna, Matt coldly pressed the button, setting off a tremendous explosion that engulfed the entire building!
