In this week’s It’s Only My Opinion column, Carolyn Hinsey addresses the recent GH classic episodes airing on Fridays, noting, “We’d all love to see Luke and Laura, Frisco and Felicia, Sonny and Brenda, etc. but I have a clear memory of SOAPnet running into trouble airing ABC’s vintage soaps because they didn’t own the music for more than the original airing. ABC fixed that about 8-10 years ago (as evidenced by the fact that we hear ‘Just You and Me’ every time Jason and Sam kiss, fight, blink or have a flashback). I’d like to think that the talented musicians from the ’80s and ’90s wouldn’t sue for a bootleg airing of an old tune on a soap during a pandemic but hey, I’m not a lawyer.” For her full take, and the full column, check out the new issue of Digest on sale now.
