General Hospital Recap: New Year’s Romance For Jason & Britt, Molly & Cody, Curtis & Jordan, Emma & Gio
The citizens of Port Charles rang in the New Year on the December 30 episode of General Hospital, and it turned out to be a very romantic night for several pairs! Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) celebrated her first birthday since her return from the dead with Jason (Steve Burton); Cody (Josh Kelly) brought the celebration to Molly (Kristen Vaganos) when she got stuck at work; and Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) made a decision about their relationship. Meanwhile, on the cusp of a new year, Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) bonded over their similar situations, and Carly (Laura Wright) got some reassurance from Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) about his future plans. Keep on reading to see how it all unfolded.
Private Parties
Cody prepared a romantic setting at the Quartermaine stables for his date with Molly, but she had to bail when she got tied up at work. A few barks from Outback inspired Cody to bring the celebration to Molly’s office. Meanwhile, Gio, Emma, Trina, and Kai cheered to the new year at Trina’s apartment. She didn’t want to go to The Savoy since she was avoiding her parents, so Gio suggested they stay in. But when Cody called Emma to stay with Outback (so the night’s fireworks didn’t freak out the dog), she and Gio headed to the Quartermaine stables.
Changing into pajamas, Trina and Kai ended up having a quiet night at her place, discussing their hopes and plans for 2026. She asked him to help her hang back up a framed photograph from their first date, which she’d taken down back when they broke up.

Once Gio and Emma arrived at the stables, Cody raced to the District Attorney’s office to surprise Molly, who was working in Justine’s office. After he sweetly helped her finish writing a plea deal for one of Turner’s cases, they donned party hats and shared a dance. When their passionate kissing led to Molly unbuttoning Cody’s shirt, he pulled away, stammering that they couldn’t do such things in her boss’s office. “Yes, we can,” Molly smirked. “It’s New Year’s.
Back at Cody’s place, Emma brought up the violin Gio had been gifted by his grandfathers and wondered if he’d felt forced to play music. Gio professed that there was so much distance between the person he used to be and the one he was now, and he wasn’t sure which one playing the violin was a part of. Playing didn’t feel like it used to, he added, and he wasn’t sure if it ever would. Offering him words of support, Emma told her boyfriend that he’d still be an incredible person whether he rediscovered his passion for music or not. Later, they went outside to watch the fireworks and kissed under the night sky.

More Than Friends?
As Nathan stood watch outside Lulu’s house, they bonded over how they’d both had to piece back together their lives after losing years. Lulu revealed that her children grounded her, but her relationship with Dante had shifted since he’d moved on with Sam while she was in her coma. Even though she knew Dante would do anything for her and the kids, she didn’t know if she could still rely on him the way she once had. As their conversation turned to Maxie, Lulu felt confident that her bestie would wake up, and Nathan confided that he wasn’t sure how his wife/”widow” would feel about him or how they’d fit into each other’s lives since she’d built a life with Spinelli while he was gone. He didn’t want to assume Maxie would give up the family unit she had with Spinelli to rebuild a life with him, even if he was her husband, Nathan revealed with sadness. Lulu promised to be someone Nathan could count on for support, no matter what happened, and they each then listed all the things they were grateful for, including one another. Nathan and Lulu shared a heated look before the New Year’s Eve fireworks began and broke the charged moment.

No Turning Back
Curtis stopped by Jordan’s condo unannounced, hoping to spend New Year’s Eve with her instead of at The Savoy’s bash. Jordan confided that she’d wanted to spend the night with him, too, but wasn’t sure if she should back off after everything that had recently happened. Curtis replied that he was serious about them trying again, even with all the drama of Portia and potentially a new baby, if it turned out to be his — and then told Jordan that he wished she was the one he was expecting a baby with. Jordan promised that she wasn’t going anywhere, and Curtis apologized for being rigid and harsh while they were married. He also divulged that he ultimately didn’t hire Selina Wu (to kill Drew) because he didn’t want to risk the future they might have together. They both professed that they wanted to be together. With that, Curtis and Jordan made love. Later, Jordan shared her fear that they would lose each other again, especially if the baby turned out to be his, but Curtis promised that he wanted her to be a part of his baby’s life and they vowed to make their reunion work.

Parenthood
After Jack got called away on business, Carly headed up to the attic and hung out with Valentin. As they drank the champagne Jack had left behind, Valentin asked if lines were being blurred as she pretended to be in love with her boyfriend, but Carly said her emotions were in check and she was focused on bringing down Brennan to protect Josslyn. Valentin told Carly that he appreciated her bringing Charlotte to visit him on Christmas Eve and understood the difficult position she was in with Lulu. Since she was also facing prison if she got caught hiding him, Carly reiterated how important it was that they were successful in taking down Jack.
When pressed for details on what he envisioned once Jack was behind bars, Valentin shared that he wanted a life that allowed Charlotte to be in it more safely, and that he had no intentions of taking his daughter away from Port Charles and her mother. Next, Carly revealed that even though she didn’t trust him, she believed that Valentin wanted what was best for Charlotte, and whether he wanted to admit it or not, he knew that meant his daughter staying in town. As fireworks lit up the sky over Port Charles, Valentin again expressed his gratitude to Carly for bringing Charlotte to visit him, adding that she was now someone he owed and he honored his debts. Joking that she was running a tab, Carly wished Valentin a Happy New Year, then went back downstairs.

Birthday Kisses
Surprising Jason at the Quartermaine house, Britt asked him to spend her birthday/the anniversary of her “death” with her so she wouldn’t have to be alone. They bickered about why she was keeping her work from him, and Jason revealed that he didn’t think he could be the company she needed that night. Trying not to show how hurt she was, Britt declared that she’d go find Brad, prompting Jason to confess that he cared about Britt and just wanted her to be okay. “Do you really not see that?” he softly said, as Britt wiped tears from her eyes. Declaring herself a train wreck, Britt said it wasn’t his job to make sure she was okay. When Jason insisted that he wanted to help her, Britt mused that someone who disapproved of everything you do but still comes through for you was a sign of a really great friend. Next, Britt revealed that in the chaos surrounding her life, the person she most wanted to be around was Jason. “When I’m with you, my life doesn’t feel so chaotic,” she whispered. Gently cupping the side of Britt’s face, Jason wished her a happy birthday and kissed her.

Do you think that Curtis and Jordan can make their relationship work the second time around? Would it be wise for Nathan and Lulu to cross the line from friends to more? Will Britt ever let her guard down and truly let Jason help her? Share your theories about GH in the comments below!
