Comings & Goings: General Hospital Alum Tajh Bellow Temporarily Taking Over as Theo on Days of our Lives
Former General Hospital star Tajh Bellow is returning to soaps — but not to GH, where he played TJ Ashford from 2018 through 2024. The actor is instead making a surprise appearance on Days of our Lives, temporarily taking on the role of Theo Carver.
Tajh Bellow Joins DAYS as Theo
According to TV Insider, which broke the news, Bellow will be seen as Theo on the Tuesday, October 6 episode of Days of our Lives. He will share scenes with Cherie Jimenez (Gabi Hernandez) on the Peacock soap.
Since 2025, the role of Theo has been played by Tyler Joseph Andrews. Andrews was unavailability to film last December, prompting the show’s one-episode recast with Bellow.
A two-time Daytime Emmy nominee for his work on GH, Bellow made his last Port Charles appearance in December 2024 and officially went off contract early in 2025. In Bellow’s final storyline on the show, TJ and his domestic partner Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos), grew apart in the wake of losing baby Irene, the child her sister, Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi), was carrying for them as a surrogate. TJ and Molly made the difficult decision to separate, bringing one of the show’s longest-running couples to an end.
At first, the character was presumably still living in town, just off camera. But when TJ’s mother, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper), was gravely injured in April 2026, it was revealed that TJ was overseas, and his uncle, Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), and great aunt, Stella Henry (Vernee Watson), had convinced him not to make the long trip home.
GH did not make an official comment about Bellow’s departure from the show, but the actor spoke out about his status with the show in August 2025, noting in an Instagram video, “As far as the future of TJ, if he’ll be back and in the capacity of which he’ll be back, I can’t speak to that yet, but I am excited about upcoming projects that are on the way and… more diverse storytelling.”
Bellow’s one-day appearance as Theo is not the only opportunity fans will have to see him on screen this month. The actor also stars opposite The Young and the Restless alum Loren Lott (ex-Ana Hamilton) in The Compatibility Experiment, a vertical drama that will release exclusively on TikTok and the PineDrama platform on Wednesday, October 14. Bellow and Lott play a couple, Kelvin and Camila, who compete on a dating show for a million dollar prize. “Let’s get this money yall!! 💸 👀,” Bellow posted on the official trailer for the show on Instagram.
