General Hospital Recap: Nathan Kisses Lulu, Danny Kisses Charlotte And Britt Confides In Jason!
On the January 29 episode of General Hospital, a snowy night led to some intense conversations around Port Charles and several pairings growing closer! Molly (Kristen Vaganos) opened up to Cody (Josh Kelly) after receiving good news, a ceasefire between adversaries Martin (Michael E. Knight) and Tracy (Jane Elliot) led to an enlightening discussion about their romantic pasts, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) gave Jason (Steve Burton) some breadcrumbs about her top-secret project, Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) continued to bond, and two pairs shared their first kiss: Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey), and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) and Charlotte (Bluesy Burke)! Here’s how it all went down.
The Write Stuff
Finally leaving the bedroom, Molly searched Cody’s living room for her phone, wanting to check her emails before she headed home. Looking outside, Cody shared that they were now snowed in. Unable to find her phone, Molly booted up her laptop and yelled in surprise at one particular email. When Cody wanted to know what she was so excited about, Molly got embarrassed but eventually confided that she’d written a western romance book — her first since she’d had books published before law school — just as a creative outlet. But Kristina had gone behind her back and submitted the manuscript to her old literary agent, she added, and the agent had just emailed that she loved the story. Despite her agent seeing potential for a multi-book deal, Molly wanted to keep her writing as a hobby. Grabbing her hands, Cody told his girlfriend that it sounded like she was a great writer and he couldn’t wait to read her story. Changing the subject, since she didn’t want Cody to know he had inspired her hero, Molly teased that she couldn’t wait to get back into his cozy bed.

Later, Cody returned downstairs to see that Outback had knocked Molly’s laptop and bag off the table. As he collected the items off the floor, he saw the manuscript for Laredo Sunrise, then sat down by the fire to read her novel.
Relationship Advice
Tracy transferred Martin’s bourbon into one of Scout’s thermoses, which led to them bickering over the heirloom decanter. Martin threatened to kick her out into the storm, which led to a squabble about their respective family dramas (Laura evicting him, the countless times Monica evicted Tracy). Finally, Tracy demanded to know why Martin was so insistent on taking out his frustrations on her, and he huffed that she’d ruined his life by destroying his relationship with Lucy. Tracy’s laugh that Lucy was no big loss further riled Martin up, and he declared that Lucy was the best thing that ever happened to him until Tracy convinced him she was having an affair with Scott, so he ended things based on the lie. Pointing out that he found Lucy rolling around in the hay with Scott in the end anyway, Tracy commented that Martin was better off without Lucy, because she was just like his three alimony-guzzling ex-wives.
Scoffing that his love life was none of her business, Martin accused the divorcée of not knowing anything about love herself. Putting down her verbal sword, Tracy declared that it had taken her decades of trial and error before she recognized Luke as the true love of her life. Sure, Luke was a con artist who was after her money at first, but they’d later both realized what they had was worth fighting for, Tracy divulged. Martin asked if it bothered her that his sister had been the love of Luke’s life, but Tracy replied that what Luke had with Laura had nothing to do with her own romance with the guy. Nothing about their relationship was easy, she added, but they had to have those past broken hearts for them to see each other clearly and honestly. Imparting honest advice, Tracy told Martin that he’d never have a lasting relationship until he could see the woman he loved for who she was, not who he wanted her to be.

Next, Martin commented that losing the love of her life explained why Tracy was taking her pain out on the rest of the world. Hit hard by his words, Tracy turned the conversation back to Martin, and he acknowledged that he was open to the possibility that there was someone out there for him. When Tracy quipped that he was an easy mark, Martin chuckled that maybe she was right, but between the pair of them, he was still brave enough to put his heart on the line.
A Hero Comes Along
Having found a lost and frozen Britt, Jason brought her to the harbormaster’s office near Spoon Island. Shivering under a blanket, she explained that she’d rented a private boat to go to Wyndemere earlier and thought she’d make it back to the mainland in time, but the water got really choppy, and the craft started taking on water. She thought she was going to die, but then she heard Jason on his boat. When she struggled to get warm, Jason wrapped Britt in a blanket and embraced her, and she later stripped out of her wet clothes. Once she was warmed up, Jason begged Britt to trust him and let him get her out of the mess she was in. Finally agreeing to tell him the truth, Britt revealed that she was being forced to complete her father’s final project, and if she didn’t, “they” would let her die from her Huntington’s disease. Jason urged her to tell him who “they” were.

Teenagers In Love
With the snow too deep to make it through the woods to Carly’s, Danny and Charlotte took refuge in the carriage house (now empty since Michael and the kids moved to the main house). Once her phone had a signal again, Charlotte saw multiple messages from her mother and replied that she was at the Qs with Danny. Next, Danny got together the fixings for s’mores, but Charlotte shared that she never saw the hype in the messy dessert when they’d made them at Lila’s Kids. With her life being so insane lately, he encouraged her to “embrace the mess and enjoy the sweeter things.” As they continued chatting, he told her how he’d gotten kicked out of Lila’s Kids for going on a solo expedition into the woods. Adding that these days, he tries to be relatively safe with what he does, Danny admitted that sometimes he likes to take a chance and try something new. Charlotte replied that she felt like she had to try so hard to be “normal” because nobody wanted to hear about how she spoke four languages and knew where to find the best pizza in Italy, because that reminded them of her father.
Next, Danny lamented that he could tell that his aunts and grandma worry that he’s becoming more like his dad, and sometimes felt like they don’t trust him to be responsible. Charlotte pointed out that he’d been responsible by bringing them to the carriage house, knowing that the storm was getting worse and they wouldn’t have made it to Carly’s. With a smile, Danny said that it was one thing to be risky with his own life, but another to be risky with hers. Later, after they snacked on s’mores, Charlotte reached over to wipe chocolate off Danny’s face, which led to the teens sharing their first kiss.

My Best Friend’s Girl
Nathan turned the power back on at the Bad Jen Café as Lulu tried to send a message to Charlotte to stay at the stables until they got to her. She was relieved to get Charlotte’s message that she was at the Quartermaines’ but frustrated that her daughter had waited so long to check in that everyone searching for her had been in danger. With Nathan’s car stuck in a ditch and knowing Charlotte was safe, they decided to spend the night at the café. While looking for blankets, Lulu found a bottle of liquor instead, and they played “two truths and a lie.” During Nathan’s turn, Lulu thought his lie was that he knew the entire periodic table of elements by heart and was surprised when he recited it. When she then asked how a detective knew all that, Nathan replied that his dad made him learn it when he was a kid, drilling him on it every day. Confused, Lulu said that from what Maxie had told her, she thought Nina was the favored child, and his father never paid much attention to him because he was adopted.
Nathan explained how his businessman father pushed him into physics and chemistry, hoping it would somehow benefit the family businesses. However, when he couldn’t do anything other than memorize information, his dad quickly lost interest in him. Nathan gave her a small smile when Lulu called his dad an idiot for not seeing how amazing he was, and, with a self-deprecating joke, said her compliments about his career made him sound like a Boy Scout. When Lulu professed that she didn’t know what she would have done if he hadn’t helped her look for Charlotte, Nathan covered her hands and declared that he wanted to be the man she saw him as, then leaned across the table to kiss her!

Wrong Impression
Worried that Charlotte was lost in the blizzard, Valentin decided to go searching for her, despite Carly trying to get him to stay put. She gave him a heavier coat and a flashlight before he ventured out, but Carly didn’t see the text message from Lulu that Charlotte was safe until Valentin was gone. Changing into boots and a parka, she headed out to find him, but he was still on her patio. Once he was back inside the house, Valentin cried that he couldn’t find Charlotte, so Carly relayed Lulu’s message. With a sigh, Valentin revealed that he’d thought his daughter was going to die out there, and Carly chuckled that at least Charlotte had the sense not to go out in the storm, unlike her father.
When Valentin confided that visibility had been so poor he didn’t make it to the tree line, and he hated having to give up the search for his daughter, Carly asked how he thought Charlotte would have felt if he’d died trying to find her. Bringing up Carly’s hat and boots, Valentin asked why she was about to risk her life to try to find him, and she replied that she knew what it was like to lose a parent as well as a child, and if she were in his shoes, she wouldn’t have been able to wait another second to know that her kid was safe. She also confided that she’d always thought he was “thoroughly reprehensible,” but she changed her mind after seeing the panicked look on his face when he couldn’t get to Charlotte. He wasn’t who she thought he was, Carly added, and Valentin replied that she wasn’t the person he believed her to be, either.
