General Hospital Recap: Jordan Rushed Into Surgery as Brook Lynn and Isaiah Squirm

Comments

On General Hospital on Thursday, April 9, news about Curtis’s (Donnell Turner) and Jordan’s (Tanisha Harper) car accident spread throughout Port Charles. As Curtis worried about Jordan, who needed emergency surgery, Trina (Tabyana Ali) was concerned for her dad; Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) were both unsettled by discussion of the crash; and anargument between Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) over his daughter’s potential involvement in the wreck led to Carly sleeping with Jack (Chris McKenna) and Valentin leaving the safety of her house. Elsewhere, Kristina (Kate Mansi) opened up to Jacinda (Paige Herschell) about her troubled past, and Gio (Giovanni Mazza) thanked Emma (Braedyn Bruener) for her encouragement. Keep on reading for the rundown.

Highs And Lows

As the opening night celebration at Charlie’s wound down, Kristina and Michael raved to Jacinda about her hidden talent as a singer. Gio and Trina discussed with Emma and Kai how great they’d felt after performing, with Trina sharing that she’d been so nervous about taking the stage that she hadn’t wanted her family there. Kristina invited them both back to perform again, but the celebratory mood shifted when Trina received an urgent phone call from her dad, letting her know that he and Jordan had been in an accident. As Trina and Kai rushed out of Charlie’s to go to the hospital, she told Michael about the accident. He then left Jacinda at the restaurant to hang out with Kristina while he went to G.H. to check on his friend.

Gio reflected on how angry he’d been the last time he’d performed in front of both his parents at the Nurses’ Ball. He shared with Emma that when he’d looked out at the audience tonight, the happy expressions on Emma’s, Brook Lynn’s, and Dante’s faces reminded him of how his mother looked at him, and he hadn’t realized how much he missed that. Gio thanked Emma for her support and encouragement, confiding that he wouldn’t have gotten to that place with Dante and Brook Lynn without her.

Rescue Squad

As Elizabeth and Lucas treated Jordan in the emergency department, a distraught Curtis paced the hallway. Shortly after Trina and Kai arrived at the hospital, Chase approached Curtis to get details for the accident report. Curtis explained what had happened without revealing to Chase that Valentin had helped him free the jammed door to pull Jordan out. Michael also arrived to show his support for Curtis.

Back in the examination bay, Dr. Park informed Lucas and Elizabeth that because Jordan had substantial internal bleeding concentrated near her one kidney, they’d need to operate immediately. Chase, Michael, Trina, and Kai watched as Curtis told Jordan she was one of the strongest women he knew and begged her to fight for them. Lucas and Dr. Park then wheeled her off to surgery.

Later, Trina asked Elizabeth if a doctor could examine Curtis and got her father to agree to be checked out while they waited for Jordan to come out of surgery. As Trina was bringing Curtis over to the nurses’ station, Chase walked over and asked Curtis if he recalled anything about the other car. Shaking his head, Curtis replied that it all happened so fast — but whoever the driver was just kept going and left them for dead.

Car & Driver

When Isaiah finally made it back to the cabin, Portia told him she’d called the hospital since he’d been gone so long, and she’d been concerned. He explained that he’d made a house call for a private patient and apologized for worrying her, then hopped back into bed. Soon after, Portia received a call from Trina, alerting her to Curtis and Jordan’s car accident. When Isaiah suggested they head to the hospital, Portia said she’d only go to the hospital if Trina called back and needed her. She offered to go with him if he wanted to be there for Jordan. Isaiah decided against it, noting that he didn’t want his presence to upset Curtis. Agreeing that was probably a good call, Portia shuddered that car crashes scared her, because you risked your life every time you got behind the wheel. Pointing out that Isaiah had been out on the road earlier, Portia sighed that it could have as easily been him who got into an accident. The innocuous comment seemed to rattle Isaiah.

Meanwhile, Brook Lynn returned home and encountered Tracy in the living room. Brook Lynn shared that she’d been at Charlie’s Pub, where Gio had performed on the guitar. Tracy was ticked that nobody had mentioned it to her, but Brook Lynn explained d that she didn’t even know about it until Dante called her just before it happened, and hadn’t even arrived in time. She then shared the video Dante had sent her, adding that Gio even apologized for not telling her himself about his performance, and she got lucky to see him play an impromptu second time with Jacinda. Marveling at how far she and Gio had come in their relationship since the Nurses’ Ball, Brook Lynn declared that the night had felt like a turning point. And with Phoebe coming to stay with her and Chase, she felt like she was finally getting everything she’d ever wanted. Hugging her granddaughter, Tracy said she how glad she was about Brook Lynn and Gio’s breakthrough. Then Tracy commented that even if Brook Lynn had called her about Gio’s performance, she probably wouldn’t have made it to Charlie’s Pub in time because she’d been stuck in traffic on her way back from a meeting due to a horrible car accident on Route 91. At the mention of the car accident, a troubled expression washed over Brook Lynn’s face.

Love The One You’re With?

Once Valentin got back to her house, Carly worried that Curtis was going to mention who’d magically appeared on the side of the road to help him free Jordan. Valentin figured Curtis now owed him a favor and wasn’t going to say anything. When he said they should be more concerned about whether Charlotte and Danny were involved in the accident, Carly replied that the teens had been oblivious about the other crash, but she’d called Corinthos Towing to repair the car without a paper trail, just in case. Although he trusted Carly, Valentin insisted that she put him in touch with Charlotte, since he’d trained his daughter to be an expert liar and wanted to make sure she wasn’t fibbing about the accident. At that, Carly’s demeanor immediately shifted, and she questioned if Valentin had been lying to her all along. To convince her otherwise, Valentin professed that he no longer liked her stringing Jack along. Since things had escalated between them since they’d first created their plan, he said, he thought she should break things off with Brennan. As Valentin confided that Carly made him want to be an honest man, Jack rang the doorbell.

As Valentin hid on the back patio, Jack updated Carly that Jason was being held at a WSB black site near Jakarta, Indonesia, and that the facility was much like Steinmauer. When Carly demanded to speak with Jason, Jack insisted that it wasn’t possible since he’d risked his position by hacking into the WSB server to get the information for her. Frustrated that Carly wouldn’t accept the parts of his job that he couldn’t share with her the way she accepted Sonny and Jason’s secrets, Jack declared that he loved her and wanted a future together and asked if she felt the same way. Carly shot back that she couldn’t move past the fact that Jack and the WSB had hurt someone she loved. Collecting herself, she added that, on the other hand, she needed him because there were things only he could give her. Outside, Valentin was crushed as he watched Carly kiss Jack through the glass door. Then, Carly led Jack upstairs to her bedroom.

Isn’t it Romantic?

After Charlie’s had cleared out, Kristina opened up to Jacinda about her past, sharing that she’d been in a dark place after breaking up with Blaze and losing her daughter. But the new version of Charlie’s felt like her next chapter, Kristina added. Jacinda expressed her gratitude for their friendship and how Kristina had never judged her, and said that she admired the way Kristina picked herself back up after getting knocked down and refocused that pain and energy into her business. Jacinda also mused that her unexpected relationship with Michael had come at a time when she thought she had a handle on her life. Then, Michael entered, having returned to give Jacinda a ride home. Back at Anna’s house, Gio and Emma exchanged “I love yous” and made love.

Across town, as Carly and Jack hit the sheets, Valentin paced the living room (even attempting to listen from the bottom of the stairs) before exiting through the back door. Pulling his hood over his head, Valentin walked off into the night. But up in her bedroom, Carly looked down at Jack and briefly envisioned Valentin there with her instead.
