General Hospital Recap: Jason and Britt Clash Over Anna as Carly Incriminates Nina
On the Friday, September 11, episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) and Jason (Steve Burton) had a doozy of a fight, Carly (Laura Wright) pointed Agent Baines (Alimi Ballard) in Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) direction, Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) had a showdown, Curtis (Donnell Turner) finally got answers he about his and Jordan’s (Tanisha Harper) accident, and Tracy (Jane Elliot) schemed to get a divorce for Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) while Ned (Wally Kurth) encouraged Chase (Josh Swickard) to forgive his wife. Fighting Words
At the boathouse, Britt asked Jason to back her up when she reported Anna for attempted murder. But Jason refused, saying he didn’t believe Anna wouldn’t have gone through with it, so Britt wasn’t in any actual danger.
Britt was hurt that Jason wouldn’t tell the police what he witnessed, while he couldn’t believe she wanted to punish Anna for reacting to the trauma she’d endured while held captive under Wyndemere. “How could you even say that you want her locked up or prosecuted for what she did when you knew she was being held prisoner and you did nothing to save her?” Jason argued.
Missed Connection
Since Jack had now been missing for days, Carly and Valentin figured he’d taken off for good. WSB Agent Baines stopped by Carly’s office and questioned her and Valentin about Jack. When Baines implied that Carly was involved in Jack’s disappearance, Valentin jumped to her defense. Baines then turned around and accused Valentin of killing Brennan as payback for the Pikeman deal that sent Valentin to Steinmauer.
At that, Carly piped up that Baines should look into Nina Reeves and told him all about the argument she’d witnessed between Jack and Nina — including Nina’s threat to “destroy” Jack if he didn’t come through with getting something that Willow needed. Once Baines left, Valentin expressed his frustration that Carly pointed the finger at Nina, because he partly blamed himself for Nina’s involvement with Jack. If something had happened to Brennan, Valentin noted, Nina would be the prime suspect.
Meanwhile, at the Metro Court Gardens, Ava updated Nina on her tick situation, using the same cover story as she’d given Dr. Gannon (that she’d picked up the parasite from a dog), and Nina lamented that she hadn’t heard Jack since they fought over Willow. Nina sighed that she wished they’d both handled the argument differently, because she really liked Jack.
Unable to divulge that she knew Jack was dead, Ava placated Nina by saying the space between her and Jack was for the best. Across the restaurant, Baines watched the women, his focus intently on Nina.
All For Nothing
Jordan visited Curtis at Pentonville and learned that Sidwell was his new cellmate. Jordan feared Sidwell would target Curtis as payback for her betraying him, but Curtis was confident that Jenz had enough eyes on him with all of Sonny’s associates in the prison. Jordan then spilled the beans to Curtis about Brook Lynn confessing to being the other driver in their accident. Curtis was steamed that Brook Lynn was only being charged with a misdemeanor and shouted that none of what led to him being locked up would have happened if she had come forward.
At Trina’s, an emotional Brook Lynn apologized to Trina for keeping silent after the car crash. Trina blasted Brook Lynn for her selfish actions that led to the Ashford family ripping itself apart. Brook Lynn said she wanted to make amends, and Trina called her out for setting up the recording contract to ease her guilty conscience. Trina wanted nothing more to do with Brook Lynn and refused to forgive her.
Broken Promises
Behind Brook Lynn’s back, Tracy asked Alexis to work on her granddaughter’s divorce from Chase, making sure that Brook Lynn got primary custody of Phoebe. Tracy added that Chase had been circling Willow for months, but hadn’t crossed a line yet.
Alexis explained that Diane would need proof of infidelity for Brook Lynn to file for divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences or emotional cruelty. She told Tracy to have Brook Lynn call the office to discuss with Diane how she wanted to proceed. With an idea planted in her mind, Tracy smiled smugly to herself.
Ned encouraged Chase to work things out with Brook Lynn, citing his own history with Lois and Brook Lynn as an example of how Chase would lose out on time with Phoebe. Chase wasn’t sure the broken trust between him and Brook Lynn could be rebuilt, especially since he’d already forgiven his wife for trying to frame Willow for the car crash and they’d agreed to no more secrets between them.
Ned left his son-in-law with one final question: “Are you angry because Brook Lynn lied and tried to frame someone for something that she did… or are you angry because the person she framed was Willow?”
War of Words
Willow arrived at her office to find Drew waiting for her. Knowing that Jack was dead, Drew tried to figure out if Brennan had given his ex the evidence that he’d embezzled funds. He taunted Willow that without the fabricated proof from Jack, she no longer had power over him, but he had plenty of leverage to use over her and Nina.
When Willow countered that he had no proof of any of the crimes, Drew threatened to go public with the news that Willow had shot him and drugged him and Nina had tried to drown him. Calling his bluff, Willow smirked that by doing that, Drew would just be humiliating himself after the grand performance he gave during her trial. Drew then dropped a vague threat about how Willow might soon learn that she wasn’t as protected by Nina and her fortune as she might think. Once he left, Willow’s bravado crumbled.
