General Hospital Recap: Drew Hunts For Willow, Michael Stands His Ground, And Nina Forgives Curtis!
The fallout from the busted wedding of Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) continued on the July 29 episode of General Hospital as the jilted groom tried to do damage control and the hysterical bride confronted Michael (Rory Gibson) and Carly (Laura Wright) about seeing her kids. Plus, Nina (Cynthia Watros) learned that Curtis (Donnell Turner) had been the one who spilled the beans to Willow about her sexual relationship with Drew, and Jason (Steve Burton) had a touching conversation with Liesl (Kathleen Gati) about Britt (Kelly Thiebaud). Keep on reading to find out how it all went down!
Unraveled And Unhinged
Still in her wedding gown and veil, with mascara running down her face, a manic Willow showed up at Carly’s house, pushing her way in to see Wiley and Amelia. Carly refused to allow it, dragging Willow over to a mirror to point out that she was “a mess” and in no condition to be around her children. Michael showed up and demanded to know what was going on. “I did what you wanted,” a frantic Willow told her ex. “I didn’t marry Drew. So now you have to let me see my kids!” Michael refused to let Willow near the kids in her hysterical condition, but Wiley, who had heard his mother’s voice, cried out for her in the other room. Carly ran to console the boy as Michael physically removed Willow from the house. Over her protests, Michael told Willow that she needed to get some rest because she wasn’t thinking straight. “Not being with Wiley and Amelia is killing me!” Willow sobbed to him. Michael snapped that his decision was final.

His eyes full of unshed tears, Michael tried to get Willow to pull herself together and leave, claiming that although he was glad she finally saw Drew for who he really is, the judge’s custody ruling still stood. Desperate and delusional, Willow gripped Michael’s shoulders and suggested they get back together. “The four of us can be a family again,” she professed. Conceding that there was a time when he’d hoped to hear those words, Michael claimed they were far past the point of reconciliation. “It’s too late, Willow. You can’t just snap your fingers and undo this,” he declared. Willow again got worked up over her lack of visitation, so Michael threatened to have security escort her off the property if she didn’t leave on her own before going back into the house.
Michael went back inside, and Willow crumpled to the ground outside Carly’s front door, sobbing as she watched her ex and his mother console Wiley through the window. Michael put his son back to bed, then filled in his mother on why the wedding didn’t happen. “That woman is unbelievable!” Carly fumed as she learned of Nina’s sexual relationship with Drew. “You mean Nina could have ended this entire nightmare if she had just told Willow the truth?” Unsettled by Willow’s behavior, Michael questioned his next steps in protecting his children. “Her desperation… that scared me. She was completely out of control. I don’t know if I could ever let her near the kids again,” he stated as his mother pulled him into a hug.

Meanwhile, Ric and Elizabeth found a shell-shocked Willow sitting at Carly’s doorstep. Liz gently approached Willow; she and Ric helped her to her feet and took her back to Liz’s house. Still in denial, Willow wondered why Michael wouldn’t let her see Wiley. Liz silently clocked how kind Ric was being to Willow as he wrapped a blanket around her shoulders. Liz offered to let Willow stay as long as she needed, until she figured out her next steps. “But I have figured them out,” Willow insisted. “Drew lied to me. He’s a terrible person who shouldn’t be anywhere near me or my children. And now that I’ve left him, Michael and I are on the same side, which means I’ll be able to see my children again.” Taken aback by Willow’s declaration, Liz and Ric shared a knowing look.
Told You So
To circumvent Tracy’s guards, Martin and Drew crawled over the wall at the Quartermaine estate, hoping to speak with Willow. Inside the house, Tracy was inspecting the mole on Cody’s back when Drew and Martin barged through the front door. Tracy became downright giddy upon realizing that Drew had been dumped at the altar. Drew was forced to confirm that Willow had found out about his involvement with Nina. “Good for her!” cheered Cody of Willow’s decision not to become the congressman’s wife. Rushing through the door, Yuri offered to throw Drew and Martin out, but Tracy wanted a few words with Drew first. Drew told her he just wanted to talk to Willow. Tracy, relishing that Willow had left Drew at the altar, told him he should have seen it coming; he’d been living on borrowed time ever since Cody outed his affair with Nina at the Brown Dog months prior. Drew accused Tracy of being devastated that she wasn’t the one to break the news herself. Tracy smirked that she had only kept quiet because she knew the longer Drew’s deception went on, the bigger the fall-out would be. Doubling down on his insistence that he just needed a chance to explain to his fiancée, Drew headed upstairs. Cody was hesitant to leave Willow alone with Drew, but Tracy revealed that she wasn’t even at the house.

As Drew and Tracy exchanged barbs in the foyer, Martin and Yuri waited in the living room, and the lawyer probed Yuri about life at the mansion. Martin was surprised to learn that Monica and Yuri had bonded over their similarities. “You? And Monica?” he sputtered. Yuri explained that he and Monica had both come far from their meager beginnings. Martin leaped at that, filing it away for later that Monica had told Yuri about her life before entering the Quartermaine fold.
Drew came back downstairs, frustrated that Willow wasn’t there and that Tracy didn’t know where she was. Tracy called for Yuri, who went back into the foyer. “You can throw them out now,” Tracy told Yuri. Drew said that wouldn’t be necessary and stormed out with Martin close behind him. “I am all Willow has left,” he told Martin once they were outside. “I’ve got to get her back.”
Not-So-Happy Hour
Nina summoned Curtis and Portia to meet her for a late-night drink, tearfully telling them that Willow and Drew were finally over — but so was her relationship with her daughter. Nina shared that her “aha moment” about how far gone Willow was had come when Portia had told her that her daughter saw no issue with Drew’s demand that the doctor alter Michael’s blood test results to make him appear to be reliant on drugs and therefore an unfit parent. But as it turned out, Willow already knew that Nina had slept with Drew. Full of remorse, Curtis revealed that he was the one who told the bride about the affair as a last-ditch effort to save his wife’s medical career.
Understanding Curtis’s reasoning, Nina forgave her friend for spilling her secret. Nina sadly acknowledged that Willow probably wouldn’t have believed the truth coming from her anyway, and said she was grateful to Curtis for forcing her daughter to see reality — even if their relationship was collateral damage. Portia thought that with time, Willow might be able to forgive Nina. Curtis warned his friend that Drew had manipulated Willow once before, so he might do it again. “Drew sees himself as Willow’s champion. And he uses her to justify his actions. Without Willow, Drew’s going to be forced to face the person he’s become,” Curtis noted.

Under The Same Sky
After sidling up to Obrecht at the otherwise empty site of Willow and Drew’s canceled wedding reception, Jason filled her in on how he believed he had seen Britt in the Paris airport. Assuming that it was his subconscious — and not that he saw her in the flesh — Obrecht revealed, “I see Britta all the time.” As she reminisced about her daughter, Obrecht told Jason that Britt had changed after meeting him, and that her daughter died in her arms a hero after saving Josslyn’s life. It had surprised her that Britt wanted to be cremated, Obrecht added, since she’d always figured her daughter would donate her body for research purposes to find a cure for Huntington’s disease.

After delivering a tipsy Obrecht up to her hotel room, Jason returned to the bar, seeing that Obrecht had left her purse behind. Flashing back to the day he saw Britt, Jason recalled the poppies on her bag. Bringing up the Spyder-Finder search engine on his phone, Jason looked for Dubrovnik hotels with flowers — and the top hit was for the Five Poppies Resort in Dalmatia.
Meanwhile, overseas at the Five Poppies Resort, Britt settled into her room at the luxury spa and pulled file folders out of her backpack. While doing some work, Britt referenced the mysterious person she appears to be working for as she muttered in frustration, “What is he even paying him for?” Later, Britt was online, catching up on Port Charles gossip (like Tracy’s arrest at the Nurses Ball), when there was a knock at her door. On the other side was a young man named Tomas, sent by a mysterious “he” who thought Britt was working too hard and sent Tomas to relieve any tension she might have. While Britt enjoyed a massage from Tomas at first, she kicked him out of her room when he offered… ahem… additional services. “Really?” the masseuse asked. “Too bad. You had a bad week.” Britt snapped back, “Well, leave now and you won’t have to find out how bad!” Alone once again in her room, Britt gave herself an injection before getting into bed. Just before she fell asleep, she looked up at the ceiling with a wistful expression before closing her eyes and whispering, “Goodnight, Mutter.”

Do you think Michael will use Willow’s outburst against her during their custody hearing? Did Curtis deserve to be so easily forgiven by Nina? Who do you think Britt is working for? Let us know your thoughts about today’s dramatic episode of GH in the comments below!
