General Hospital Recap: Drew and Ava Bury Jack’s Body as Anna Lays a Trap for Britt

Comments

The Wednesday, September 2, episode of General Hospital saw Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Ava (Maura West) bury Jack’s body (Chris McKenna), Josslyn (Eden McCoy) reported her boss missing after a discussion with Jason (Steve Burton) and Carly (Laura Wright). Meanwhile, Anna (Finola Hughes) advanced her dangerous plan for Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), Chase (Josh Swickard) learned something alarming from Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), Gio (Giovanni Mazza) had a surprise for Emma (Braedyn Bruner), and more. Here’s everything that happened.

Breaking Ground

Drew and Ava dug a grave in the nature preserve adjacent to the Quartermaine estate and buried Jack’s body. Because she’d been the last one seen with Jack, Ava was concerned that the PCPD would come looking for them once they realized he was missing, but Drew assured her that Brennan had a long list of enemies. After burying the body, Drew and Ava heard a dog barking in the distance and took off.

Search Party

Upon discovering that someone had searched Jack’s room, Jason suspected it had been Valentin. Carly jumped to her boyfriend’s defense since he’d been with her, searching Drew’s office at the time of the security system shutdown, and told Jason that Valentin had found something Jason could use against Drew.

Josslyn arrived, having hightailed it out of the Cat’s Eye Lounge when she couldn’t get in touch with Jack. Carly explained that the hotel security system had been hacked, and they’d gone to Jack’s room, wondering if he was responsible for the breach or its target. Josslyn was convinced that her boss was the target because Jack had blown off a scheduled debrief, which was out of character.

Suspicious, Carly questioned why they were having a debrief if Josslyn was taking over her father’s company. Joss realized she’d been caught in a lie and stammered that she wasn’t severing ties with the WSB completely.

Joss called Brennan’s assistant and confirmed that his black box was still in the office. Then, she reluctantly called Jack’s disappearance in to the WSB.

Scent Work

Charlotte panicked that her bracelet with her initial on it was missing, and the last time she remembered seeing it was at the Metro Court pool right before she and Danny found Jack’s body. Worried it would connect them to Brennan’s death, Charlotte wanted to go back to retrieve it, but Danny assured her that items were found in the pool all the time and the “C” on the bracelet was generic.

Chase showed up at the boathouse with Outback, whom he was dog-sitting while Cody and Molly were out of town at a book convention. When Chase questioned who stole his truck and dented it, Charlotte tried to play dumb, but Danny owned up to it. As Chase scolded Danny for the felony, Outback ran out of the boathouse into the woods. Chase instructed Charlotte to look for the dog and informed Danny that he had no choice but to speak with Jason about the car theft. Flustered, Danny took full responsibility for taking the speedboat and Jason’s truck — and Chase was alarmed when the teen swore he hadn’t been the one who took Brook Lynn’s BMW and scraped it.

Meanwhile, Charlotte found Outback digging up the dirt where Drew and Ava had just buried Jack’s body but managed to get the beagle to leave before she uncovered anything.

Target Practice

Hoping to take Anna’s mind off her troubles, Valentin brought her to the shooting range so she could get back to her roots. After he teased her that her aim might not be as good as it used to be, Anna demonstrated that she still had excellent skills. But she lamented that she wasn’t the same woman Valentin had first met at the WSB academy because that woman had yet to meet Faison.

Valentin noted that Anna was still alive and Faison was dead, but she groused that Faison being alive in her memory is what made her vulnerable to manipulation by people wanting to follow in his footsteps… specifically, his children, Cassius and Britt. Valentin countered that he didn’t know how guilty Cassius and Britt were, but Cullum was the one who’d traumatized her. And since Cullum and Cassius were both dead, they couldn’t hurt Anna any longer.

Declaring that she needed to focus on the present and put Faison behind her, Anna wanted to stick around for extra shooting practice. Valentin offered to stay, but she snapped that she didn’t need a babysitter. Softening, Anna thanked him for being a good friend, and Valentin promised that he always would be.

Project Management

When Ava was a no-show to meet Lucas at the Metro Court bar, he called Britt to join him for drinks. Lucas updated her on his new living arrangements with Joe Fitzpatrick but, based on her prickly encounter with the detective when she’d been in custody at the PCPD, Britt thought Lucas was making a mistake by taking him on as a roommate.

Britt opened up about her and Jason’s reunion, smiling that they were finally on the same page with their relationship. Glad things were going so well, Lucas said Britt and Jason both deserved happiness after everything they’d been through.

Across the room, Ava and Drew sat down at a table to establish their alibi. Spotting his aunt, Lucas approached the table and teased her about forgetting they’d had plans. Taking the blame, Drew cryptically shared that Ava had been helping him with a project and praised her quick thinking. Ava replied that if it all worked out, “It would definitely have been a joint effort.”

Back at the bar, Britt received a call from Anna, who claimed she’d heard back from her source about Cassius. Anna added that she’d be in touch with a meeting location… as she admired the near-perfect bullet holes in the paper silhouette she’d used earlier for target practice.

Lounge Act

Following Gio and Trina’s first set at the Cat’s Eye Lounge, Brook Lynn congratulated her son and his singing partner on a great set. Gio thought it was a bad sign that Simon left before the set was done, but Brook Lynn relayed a message from the producer that they’d done a great job.

Gio surprised Emma with a weekend getaway to Montreal, and when Kai told Trina that Quinn had raved about her performance, she said she was looking forward to getting to know him better. Kai also noted that he’d filmed the set so Trina could share the video with her family. Trina confided that she was struggling with how well her life was going while things were so bad for her father, but Kai didn’t think Curtis would want Trina to hold herself back.

After Josslyn took off, Hudson joined Brook Lynn at a table and peppered her with seemingly innocent questions about Phoebe. Hudson was surprised to learn that Brook Lynn only recently learned that Gio was her son, and Brook Lynn marveled at how fortunate she was to have two incredible children and a wonderful husband.
