General Hospital Recap: Carly and Valentin Have Sex, Lulu Comes Clean With Maxie and More
The March 6 episode of General Hospital was full of surprises! Lulu’s (Alexa Havins) attempt to tell Maxie (Kirsten Storms) about her and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) didn’t go well, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) brought Jason (Steve Burton) up to speed, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) warned Jack (Chris McKenna), Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) tried to have the last word before leaving town, Trina (Tabyana Ali) was uncomfortable being the center of attention, and Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) gave in to passion! Here’s how it all went down.
Feeling Some Type of Way
Maxie was happy for the distraction from paperwork when Lulu arrived at Deception, but her BFF’s mood made Maxie worry she needed to talk about something bad. Lulu finally confessed that she and Nathan had gotten close while Maxie was in her coma. Maxie wanted some clarification, and Lulu explained how, when Nathan came back, she helped him get to know James, and they started spending more time together. Then, with all the chaos around their lives, they were thrown together and discovered there was something between them. Maxie hesitantly asked how far things had gotten, and Lulu promised they hadn’t slept together. She added that they called it off as soon as Maxie woke up, so that if she wanted her husband back, she could, but she chose Spinelli.
Maxie wondered if she even really had a choice, admitting she’d noticed something off with Nathan as soon as she’d laid eyes on him, and now wondered if that had to do with Lulu. When Lulu asked if she regretted picking Spinelli, Maxie wondered if she’d come here to get “permission” to pursue Nathan. Lulu insisted she just wanted to be honest with her best friend. Maxie agreed that Nathan had every right to move on, but added, “just not with you.” She informed Lulu that if she’d come looking for her blessing, she wouldn’t get it, because she couldn’t watch her best friend be in a relationship with someone she loved. Lulu insisted she was just trying to follow her heart and hoped this was something they could get past, but Maxie didn’t see that happening. After Lulu left, Maxie looked sadly at a photo of her with Spinelli and the kids on her desk, while outside, Lulu took a deep breath and tried to compose herself.

Performance Anxiety
At the Surf Lodge, Trina and Kai were gushing over pictures of Sonny’s rescue Pomeranian, Fizz, with Gio. Emma arrived and reported that somebody on the condo board suspected there’s a dog in the building. Gio promised not to bring the pooch along when he visits her anymore, but Emma didn’t care what others said. Kai interrupted with a solution, explaining that they could get around the HOA rules by making Fizz an emotional support dog so he could go anywhere. Looking at the form they’d have to fill out for Fizz, they realized they didn’t know the dog’s birthday, so Trina suggested today. Later, a waitress brought over a cupcake with a candle, and they jokingly started singing “Happy Birthday” to Kai. But Emma and Gio quickly dropped out as Trina’s voice wowed everyone in the restaurant. After receiving free drinks, they joked that they should keep this up by having Trina sing all over town, and when she protested, Gio declared he knew the perfect place for her to perform. He explained that Charlie’s Pub was reopening soon and Kristina was thinking of holding an open mic night. Trina was wary, but everyone praised her talent, and Gio urged her to share her gift with everyone. When Emma suggested it would also help Kristina, Trina reluctantly agreed.

Taking Sides
Josslyn arrived at the Corinthos Coffee warehouse office and ordered Britt out so she could talk to Jason. Britt protested, but Jason gently asked her to go. After she exited, Josslyn blasted Jason for telling her mother she’s in the WSB. He argued that he couldn’t lie to his best friend anymore, but promised that he warned Carly she couldn’t blow her daughter’s cover. Josslyn bitterly taunted him that he couldn’t lie to Carly, but she had no trouble lying to him about hiding Valentin in her attic. Recalling that Valentin had nearly murdered Carly, a stunned Jason realized that he must have offered her a way to extricate Josslyn from the WSB in exchange for her help. He then asked Josslyn if she was going to tell anyone about Valentin, and she responded that obviously she wouldn’t, because her mother would be charged with treason.
Josslyn urged Jason to convince her mother to ditch Valentin. When he suggested the Cassadine needed to be taken out, Josslyn insisted he didn’t have to kill the guy; he just had to talk some sense into her mother. But Jason was skeptical she’d listen, since she’d clearly turned her back on him and was now relying on Valentin. Joss worried that her mother was alone because she couldn’t trust Jack or Valentin, and Jason quickly made sure she hadn’t told her mom about Cullum. Josslyn revealed that she’d distracted her with her real target: Sonny and criminals like him. Jason asked if that was true or just a smokescreen, and Joss admitted that sometimes when she thinks about why she does this, Sonny comes to mind. Jason argued that Jack was manipulating her, and she pointedly asked if Sonny had manipulated him back when he joined his organization. Jason changed the subject by arguing that there were more important things to worry about, and Josslyn flatly ordered him to talk to Carly and get her to cut Valentin loose.

Spy Games
Britt returned to her office at the hospital to find Jack sitting at her desk, accusing her of avoiding him. He complained that she hadn’t been providing the regular updates on Faison’s project she’d promised, and wasn’t buying it when Britt claimed she hadn’t made any progress. He reminded her he could bring her up on charges for her activities at The Five Poppies, but she called his bluff and said that his empty threats were the least of her problems. She then angrily offered him an update: “Director Cullum, he’s working with Sidwell. He and Sidwell are partners. He’s a freaking double agent! Yeah. And he’s been playing you and your entire bureau for fools. Cullum is the enemy.”

Jack insisted she was way off base, but Britt told him Cullum was at The Five Poppies all the time, and he was why all his investigations into Faison’s final project kept coming up empty. Jack asked if Cullum was aware of Agent Jacks, and Brit admitted she didn’t know but figured he wasn’t, because otherwise, Josslyn would be dead. As Jack exited, he warned her he still wanted those updates. Outside, he called Melinda at a WSB office in Belgium to ask her to bend the rules and get him Cullum’s expense reports and itineraries for the past three years.
Agree to Disagree
Nathan stopped by Nina’s office at Crimson, followed closely by Obrecht, who wanted to sort out this mess with Nathan and Maxie before she left for a medical conference in New Zealand. She insisted that he and Maxie wouldn’t be happy until they were back together, but Nathan countered that Maxie had moved on and so had he. Obrecht was stunned to learn that he’d gotten involved with Maxie’s best friend, and Nina rushed to her brother’s defense. Obrecht was furious to realize that Nina already knew about Lulu and lashed out at her for interfering with her son when Nina’s own relationship with her daughter was such a mess. Nathan stepped in, and Obrecht laughed at the idea that he and Lulu had actual feelings for each other. He reminded his mother that Maxie had chosen Spinelli, and he wished them well, adding that for him and Lulu to figure things out, he needed Obrecht to back off.
Britt joined them and immediately sensed the tension. Obrecht explained that Nathan was explaining how he had feelings for Lulu now instead of his wife, but she has now agreed not to meddle. Britt was surprised by both announcements, but Obrecht claimed she was backing off because she just wanted Nathan to be happy. Obrecht left to prepare for her trip, and Britt followed, annoyed she hadn’t mentioned leaving town in her text. Alone, Nina chuckled that the conversation had gone pretty well, and Nathan figured it would be harder for his mother to meddle from the other side of the world. Nina played dumb, but he suspected someone pulled strings to get Obrecht invited to that conference. In the elevator, Britt was surprised that her mother was being so understanding about Nathan and Lulu, but Obrecht confidently proclaimed that they would never actually get together, because Nathan wouldn’t want to come between Lulu and Maxie.

Emotional Rescue
At Carly’s house, as Carly processed the revelation that Josslyn joined the WSB to take down Sonny, Valentin was more concerned with whether Joss would turn them in. Carly assured him her daughter wouldn’t do that, but he was unconvinced, pointing out that when Josslyn subdued him, she proved she took her job seriously. Carly was worried that Joss would protect her but not Valentin and urged him to leave. Though she was confident Josslyn wouldn’t turn her in, Valentin warned that she didn’t know her daughter as well as she thought, since Joss had lied to her face for a year. Carly cried that their close relationship seemed to be gone now, lamenting that she didn’t recognize the person she spoke to tonight. Valentin declared that was Jack’s handiwork, but Carly said it was bigger than that, as Joss claimed to have joined the WSB to take down criminals like Sonny.
Valentin argued she wasn’t responsible for her daughter’s decisions, but Carly blamed herself for bringing Sonny into Josslyn’s life. She cried that when she looked at Josslyn tonight, she saw herself, back when she first came to town, determined to destroy her mother’s life. Carly noted how working for the WSB had affected Valentin, Anna and Jack, and she didn’t want the same thing to happen to her daughter. He assured her Joss would be fine, “because I know her mom,” he added. “And if she’s got anything like what I see in you, even the WSB can’t destroy her.” Carly implored him to run and save himself, but he refused, insisting that he may have started out using her, but they were real partners now. “I’m not leaving you,” he declared. Suddenly, Carly leaned in and kissed him. She stepped away, but he pulled her back in, and they began tearing each other’s clothes off as they headed for the bedroom.
