General Hospital Recap: Britt Vows to Make Anna Pay as Jason Warns Josslyn About the WSB
On the Thursday, September 10, episode of General Hospital, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) vowed payback against Anna (Finola Hughes), who sought treatment for her mental health. Meanwhile, Jason (Steve Burton) issued a warning to Josslyn (Eden McCoy), Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) set out on an apology tour, Gio (Giovanni Mazza) and Trina (Tabyana Ali) tried to determine the future of their musical career, Tracy (Jane Elliot) hired Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) for some legal work, and more. Call of Duty
The morning after she nearly killed Britt, Anna invited Dante over and informed him that he needed to resume acting police commissioner duties because she’d been involved in “an incident” the night before. Anna confided that she’d been hiding how much she’d been struggling following her mental breakdown and was entering voluntary therapy.
A sympathetic Dante recalled how his own stint with the WSB nearly broke him. He reminded Anna how, at the time, she’d told him he would recover if he did the work. Anna resolved to do the same, and Dante looked forward to having her back at the PCPD. As Dante was leaving, Anna told him that if he heard from Britt regarding the situation the night before, she wanted him to do his duty.
Grudge Match
At the hospital, Felicia assured a worried Emma that Anna was in good hands with her new therapist and would recover with their support. At the same time, Britt relayed to a disbelieving Lucas that Anna had almost killed her the night before. When Emma approached and asked to speak with her, Britt wasn’t interested, hissing, “Anna Devane needs to be locked up!”
Emma asked Britt to show some compassion after what Anna had gone through, but Britt refused to entertain the idea, leading to a heated argument. Intervening before things escalated further, Felicia urged Britt to remember all the chances she’d been given, then pulled Emma away.
Anna arrived for her first therapy session and swore to Emma that she would put in the work to get better. While Anna and Felicia waited for the therapist, Dr. Nichols, Anna apologized for having deceived Felicia to get released from the French clinic. She admitted to not being truthful about the visions of Peter and how she’d been plotting to kill Faison’s descendants. Felicia was sure Anna only reached that point because of the years of psychological torment she’d suffered, and Anna vowed to fix things with Britt.
Meanwhile, in her office, a frustrated Britt griped that no one understood how her life had been in danger. Recognizing how traumatized Britt was, Lucas gave her a “Britch Pass” for lashing out but reminded her that Anna had gone through hell for months. Later, Britt tensed up when, from the hub, she saw Anna and Dr. Nichols walking to the elevator. Lucas gently urged her to leave Anna alone. “Don’t worry, I’m not going near her,” Britt stated in a steely tone. “But she will pay for what she’s done.”
Crime & Punishment
Tracy and Ned hired Diane to represent Brook Lynn if there was any legal fallout from her part in the car accident, but Alexis took the meeting when her partner was unavailable at the last minute. Brook Lynn was surprised to see the attorney, figuring she’d only receive points on her license and not jail time. Alexis explained that not reporting the near-miss with the Ashfords wasn’t a crime, but colliding with the guard rail and not reporting damage to public property might have resulted in jail time.
Justine arrived and Alexis laid out the facts of Brook Lynn’s actions. The acting D.A. agreed that the only crime committed had been hitting the guard rail, which was a fine. But, speaking as Jordan’s friend, Justine pointed out that Brook Lynn might not have been liable for the accident or the chain of events that followed (Curtis punching Isaiah, etc.), but she’d have to live with knowing that those things happened because she never came forward.
After Justine left, Brook Lynn declared that she had to apologize to those she’d hurt after taking Tracy’s advice to stay quiet. Tracy begged her not to make things worse, but Ned encouraged his daughter. Once Tracy was alone with Alexis, she stated that she wanted Miller & Davis to handle Brook Lynn’s divorce.
Marriage Counseling
At the PCPD, Chase stunned Joe when he said to close the Ashford case because Brook Lynn was the other driver. When Dante arrived, he informed the officers that Commissioner Devane was taking a leave of absence for personal reasons, and he was filling in once again.
Dante asked how Chase was doing and learned that he’d spent the night at the Metro Court. When Chase said he missed Phoebe, Dante wondered where Brook Lynn fit in. Chase wasn’t sure how he could face his wife after what she’d done. Later, Ned arrived at the police station and demanded that Chase go with him “to save your marriage.”
Decisions, Decisions
Jason met Josslyn at the boathouse and confirmed Britt’s account about Anna’s actions. As they discussed what led to Anna’s breakdown and visions of Peter, Josslyn pieced together that Cullum and Sidwell had worked to discredit Anna so she wouldn’t threaten their project.
After telling Jason about the note she’d seen written on the captive room wall by Anna, Josslyn confessed that she’d lied about what really happened on Spoon Island and that she felt bad about destroying Cassius’s memory after he’d saved her life. Jason realized that Josslyn had gone along with the WSB narrative to get him released from Jakarta and warned her to be on her guard with the bureau.
Josslyn was torn about whether she should report Anna to the WSB, as per protocol. Jason pointed out that reporting it wouldn’t help Anna, but Anna would understand whatever Josslyn decided to do.
Friends Til The End
Gio went to the garage apartment to see Trina. Trina wasn’t sure how to get past how Brook Lynn’s silence contributed to her family falling apart, and Gio wondered if Trina would hold what his mother did against him.
After leaving Trina’s, Gio went to Emma’s place and updated her that he and Trina weren’t sure if they wanted to move forward with their music careers. Emma told him that Anna had nearly killed Britt the night before, and she was worried that by arguing with Britt at G.H., she’d only made things worse. Commending Emma for standing up for her grandmother, Gio mused that maybe Britt would surprise them in a good way.
Back at Trina’s apartment, a distraught Brook Lynn knocked on the door…
