General Hospital Recap: Sonny Offers Hudson a Deal as Jason Confronts Josslyn

Comments

On General Hospital on Friday, October 23, Sonny (Maurice Benard) made proposition to Hudson (Troy Lennon Appel), Josslyn (Eden McCoy) was hurt by Jason’s (Steve Burton) accusation, Drew (Cameron Mathison) tried to calm a spooked Ava (Maura West), Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) had second thoughts about their quickie divorce, Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) supported Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) through a parenting crisis, and Ric (Rick Hearst) and Lulu (Alexa Havins) squared off with Monet (Blythe Howard) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). Keep on reading for the full rundown!

Paper Trail

Following the brutal meeting with their lawyers, Brook Lynn and Chase flew to the Dominican Republic to get a quickie divorce. On the flight, they agreed that despite their marriage ending, neither wanted to be the other’s enemy.

Later, the judge asked Chase and Brook Lynn if the divorce was of mutual consent, but the way they gushed about the other in response had him questioning if they actually wanted to go through with it. Later, when the judge returned to his office with the paperwork, both Chase and Brook Lynn hesitated to sign the divorce documents.

War of Words

As Ric and Lulu prepared for their pre-trial meeting with Willow and Monet, he warned her that he’d had a contentious encounter with the other attorney at an earlier meeting and was having second thoughts about trying to scare Willow into dropping the libel suit.

Since Lulu no longer had The Invader‘s support, she freaked out that Willow was seeking millions in damages, but with her reputation on the line, Lulu stuck by her decision not to print a retraction.

Meanwhile, Monet and Willow prepped at Miller & Davis. Monet wanted to know why Alexis had tried to discourage her from taking Willow on as a client. Willow explained the sticky situation between Drew and Alexis, and Monet wondered whether Willow’s ex-husband would be an issue for the libel suit.

Flashing back to the two times she’d tried to kill her then-husband, Willow lied to her attorney that Drew hadn’t sought revenge by validating Lulu’s allegations because not a word in the article was true.

Once Ric and Lulu arrived and the meeting got underway, Ric tested out his strategy to get Willow to back off by saying things wouldn’t end well for her if they went to court. Monet, however, shot back that they had significant evidence on their side — including that the alleged victim, Drew, hadn’t come forward to back up Lulu’s story.

Willow refused to drop the lawsuit, and Lulu refused to retract the story. Willow stated that Lulu had been manipulated by the Quartermaines, who wanted to take her children away, and Lulu maintained that she was doing her job to expose a crime committed by a congresswoman.

At an impasse, Ric declared they would see Monet and Willow in court. Out in the hallway, Ric promised a nervous Lulu they would figure out their next move.

Sweet Spot

Dante stepped up as a good friend when Elizabeth shared that Aiden had secretly earned his GED, applied to his dream pastry school in Paris, and had been accepted with a scholarship. Liz wasn’t sure if she’d made a mistake by allowing him to go because of his young age. Talking her through the pros and cons, Dante suggested her trepidation was because Liz wasn’t ready to be an empty nester. He also shared a story about the support he received from his mother when he moved out for the first time.

Reassured that she was doing the right thing for her son, a frazzled Liz groaned that because Aiden was leaving in four days, she now had to make cupcakes for the Halloween party. Divulging that he had secret baking skills, Dante offered his services, and Elizabeth accepted his help.

Fool’s Gold

Sonny asked Jason to explore a theory that Josslyn was the one who framed him for the Pentonville attacks, thinking that Jason might be the only person she would confide in. Sonny then reached out to Hudson to meet, wanting to use Hudson to control what Josslyn did with JJE.

When Hudson got Sonny’s message, Josslyn declared she’d go in his place. Wanting to know what Sonny was after, Hudson insisted on going himself, and left to meet him at the Port Charles Grill.

Once Hudson arrived at the Grill, Sonny told him Jax wouldn’t be happy to return from his extended vacation to discover that Josslyn had used JJE to further her vendetta against him — and that would be a direct problem for Hudson. Sonny offered to pay Hudson to stay on at the company and make sure Josslyn didn’t run it into the ground.

Hudson realized that by keeping Josslyn focused on her father’s goals for the company, he’d both undercut her plans to take down Sonny and secure his own position for when Jax returned — arguably a win for both him and Sonny. He assumed he’d receive an exorbitant consultant’s fee, but Sonny proclaimed that Hudson would take what he offered… and if he didn’t, Hudson was a fool.

The Godfather

Jason went to Josslyn’s apartment and asked her if she’d framed Sonny for Sidwell’s beating. Josslyn, who was convinced Sonny was responsible and scapegoating her, was hurt that Jason was falling for it. When Joss pushed back about Sonny’s involvement, Jason said he believed that both she and Sonny were responsible.

Even if Sonny hadn’t ordered the attack, Josslyn declared, she wasn’t going to ease up on trying to run him out of town. Jason wondered why she hated Sonny so much, but not him. Josslyn said she didn’t agree with everything Jason did, but he’d saved her life multiple times and always stood beside her mother. From the moment he’d become her godfather, Jason always had her back. Jason declared that he always would and Joss smiled that she was lucky.

Body Shop

An agitated Ava called Drew to the gallery to inform him that Joe was sniffing around because Metro Court Gardens staff reported seeing her with Jack the night the WSB agent went missing.

Drew was confident there was no footage of her slipping Jack the sleeping pill since he’d disabled the security cameras, but Ava wasn’t appeased. She hissed that Lulu’s article was the reason why Fitzpatrick was now investigating Jack’s final moves in the first place.

A worried Ava wanted to move Jack’s corpse, but Drew declared it was too risky. He insisted nobody would find the body since the PCPD and the WSB believed Nina was responsible for his disappearance.

Ava blasted him for framing her friend and wished she’d heeded Nina’s warnings not to get involved with Drew. Drew warned Ava that they needed to stick to their plan, because if they turned on each other, they’d both end up in prison — but as long as no one found Jack, they were safe.

Will Brook Lynn and Chase sign the divorce papers? Should Hudson accept Sonny’s offer? Is Drew too confident that he and Ava are in the clear? Let us know what you thought about the latest episode of GH in the comments below, and what you think will happen next week!
