General Hospital Recap: Britt Returns, Carly Confesses, Willow Backs Drew, and More!

Comments

The police continued investigating Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) shooting in the September 11 episode of General Hospital, even if he’s already made up his mind about who to implicate in his attempted murder! Anna’s (Finola Hughes) questioning of Curtis (Donnell Turner) sent him running to Portia (Brook Kerr) for help, while Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) found Michael’s (Rory Gibson) alibi hard to swallow. Plus, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) agreed to Drew’s plan to frame her ex as Carly (Laura Wright) decided to come clean, Nina (Cynthia Watros) made a solid case with Lulu (Alexa Havins), and everyone was stunned to see Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) alive and well! Here’s how it all went down:

The Wrong Answer

Anna welcomed Curtis and Martin into her office, and the attorney urged his client to keep his answers brief. Anna cautioned that immediately going on the defensive wasn’t a good look, but Curtis reminded her he used to be a cop and was going to protect his rights. As the questioning got underway, Anna asked Curtis about his strained relationship with the vicim, and he explained they had a falling out at Aurora when Drew failed to keep his promises and was pushed out of the company. She inquired about Curtis recently accusing the congressman of abusing his power to target his Aunt Stella, wondering if he was “angry enough to kill.”

Curtis ran down his whereabouts the night of Drew’s shooting, going from Alexis’s house to The Savoy, but admitted that no one could verify he was at his club, as he went in the back and straight to his office. He added that he later met Jordan for drinks at the Brown Dog, but Anna noted that during the time frame of the shooting, Curtis was at the club, so his alibi wasn’t great.

Playing Pretend

Trina visited Portia’s office at the hospital to check on her mom. Asking about the blackmail, Trina wondered if anyone else had proof of what she’d done. Portia urged her daughter not to get mixed up in any of this, but Trina worried about what could happen if Drew’s evidence came out. She hoped the blackmail would now stop, but Portia admitted it probably wouldn’t, though she wasn’t worried about it anymore. She refused to live in fear and would deal with any consequences. Relieved, Trina embraced her mother.

Later, Curtis showed up to update Portia about his questioning and to let her know that she didn’t seem to be at the top of the suspect list. However, he also noted that if anyone learned that they’d split up because of Drew, it would be a greater motive for both of them. Curtis suggested that until they were in the clear, they should act like they’re still a happy couple. He asked if she was okay with that, and Portia didn’t look altogether thrilled by the idea.

I Said What I Said

Carly arrived at the hospital to visit Drew, and Liz reluctantly gave her his room number. Lucas intercepted his sister to ask who else knew she had threatened Drew’s life. She was annoyed at Liz, who insisted Lucas was the only one she told. Carly happily copped to threatening Drew, but insisted she did not shoot him. Lucas believed her, but also proposed that visiting Drew might give the cops the wrong idea. Carly, however, was on a mission and would not be deterred.

Later, Lucas apologized to Liz for Carly’s harshness. The nurse assumed Drew would tell the cops what she’d overheard, and assured Lucas she’d make sure the cops knew Drew goaded Carly into the threat. Lucas just hoped Carly didn’t get arrested, then added he kind of hoped no one did. Liz was aghast that he’d want the shooter to get away with it, but Lucas shrugged it off. “Drew has pushed a lot of people way too far,” he declared. “It might be terrible to say, but I think the guy brought it on himself.”

The Accused

Drew was thrilled to open his eyes and find Willow in his room, happily informing her he felt so much better now that she was there. She asked him what he remembered about the shooting, and Drew recounted the moments leading up to it, making special note of taking her ring out of the safe now that she was coming back to him. Willow noted that he had Tracy to thank for saving his life, and he was surprised to learn his aunt had found him. “I’m not alive because of Tracy,” he smarmed. “I survived because I have too much to live for. I had to pull through. To be with you and the kids.” Willow forced a tight smile onto her face.

As Willow was updating Drew about Scout, Carly barged in and couldn’t resist snarking about the two reuniting before getting straight to the point. She informed Drew that Scout had once again run away from camp to go to the Quartermaines. Willow assured a concerned Drew that the little girl was safe, and Carly urged him to let Scout be with her family while he was recovering. Drew refused, insisting that Scout belonged with Willow. “Maybe you should stop worrying about my kid and start worrying about your own,” Drew growled. “Because if Michael hasn’t been arrested for my shooting yet, he will be. And soon.”

Carly declared that Michael didn’t shoot anyone and accused Drew of just wanting him out of the way so that Willow could have her kids back. She also argued that there were quite a lot of people who wanted him dead, so Drew turned it back on her, wondering if she was so positive Michael was innocent because she’d shot him herself. “Drew, if I wanted you dead,” she spat, “you’d be dead.” Giving up, Carly said she had just hoped Drew would do the right thing for Scout, but it was clear he was beyond hope. “So are you, by the way,” she shot at Willow as she stalked out.

Alone again, Willow wondered if Drew would tell the cops about Carly’s threat, but he said that as far as he’s concerned, Michael shot him, adding, “Even if he didn’t, it plays to our advantage to take the fall for it.” Willow didn’t understand how he planned to frame Michael since he’d already told the cops he didn’t see who shot him. “Well, that’s the thing about traumatic memories,” Drew said with twisted glee. “They come flooding back… at any moment.” Willow worried that left the real shooter out there, able to try again, but Drew didn’t care because once Michael was in prison, she’d have her kids back and they could be a family again. Steeling up, Willow agreed to the plan, willing to do anything to get her kids back.

Nice Try

Dante knocked on Jacinda’s door at the Metro Court to question her, and she reluctantly allowed him in. Dante frowned upon seeing Michael exit the bathroom, shirtless. Once dressed, Michael explained to Jacinda that the detective is his brother. Told that Michael named her as his alibi, she agreed to answer any questions, explaining that they’d met up, had a drink, and then left the bar to come back to her room. Dante noted that Michael hadn’t mentioned that part in his statement and asked for a moment alone with his brother.

Michael apologized for not including that detail, but Dante cut him off, not believing any of this and accusing him of paying the escort to give him an alibi. He urged his brother to tell him the truth, but was interrupted by a phone call and had to dash off. Alone, Michael thanked Jacinda for backing up his story, and she chuckled that they barely had time to stage their “rendezvous” before Dante arrived. She also noted that the alibi helped cover both of them, and they agreed to continue working together.

A Persuasive Argument

Nina stopped by Lulu’s to let her know Jack had approached her about Charlotte visiting Valentin in prison. Angry, Lulu wondered if he wanted Nina to talk to Charlotte directly, but Nina insisted that wasn’t it, and in any case, she would never do that to her. Lulu appreciated that, and the women agreed to put their contentious past behind them. Joking that she didn’t want to ruin this nice moment, Nina suggested that Lulu seriously consider letting Charlotte see her dad.

Taken aback, Lulu wondered why she would do that, and Nina argued that if she let Charlotte see Valentin, she’d be her daughter’s hero and could even set some boundaries. Lulu wasn’t crazy about Charlotte reconnecting with her dad, but Nina revealed that every time she’d spoken to Charlotte, she talked about missing her father. As Lulu realized that her daughter never talked about Valentin to her, Nina suggested she could score major points with Charlotte by setting this up.

Pooch on the Loose

Obrecht was delighted to enter Bad Jen Cafe and see Outback, then also Rocco and Charlotte. While she ordered, Rocco asked Charlotte not to say anything to his mother about this run-in because she didn’t approve of him wanting to know more about Britt. Charlotte totally got it, given how her mother feels about her father, and promised to stay quiet. When Outback suddenly ran outside, the teens gave chase.

Rocco returned with a cut on his head after running into a tree and reported that Charlotte was still going after the dog. He asked Obrecht to take care of it, but the doctor decided he needed stitches. Rocco called his mother to let her know what happened, and Lulu said she’d meet him at the hospital, bringing Nina along as a buffer between her and Liesl.

Homeward Bound

On the flight back to Port Charles, Britt woke up after dozing on Jason’s shoulder for hours. Following some snarky banter, Jason wanted some answers about what she’d been doing in Croatia. Britt tried to claim that she was working on a cold fusion project and it was just a regular job, but Jason pointed out that nothing about it was normal, adding that she clearly wanted out before the WSB arrived. Britt argued that she just didn’t want to get mixed up in Pascal’s nonsense, kidnapping WSB agents and such. Jason kept pressing, wanting to know who she was working for.

Britt continued to insist that she was only working for Pascal, but Jason wasn’t buying it and warned that the WSB wouldn’t, either. He told her to call him if she needed help. Britt once again brought up that his priority was always Carly and she couldn’t actually rely on him. Jason insisted he just wanted to be a friend. “Well, you’re lousy at it,” she groused. When he asked about her future plans, Britt reminded him she didn’t want or need his help, and he pointed out that he’s got experience coming back from the dead, which can be pretty tricky. Talking about how there were plenty of people who would want to know she’s alive, Jason admitted that he had missed her. After a charged moment, Britt swiftly changed the subject, asking him for money for a cab. He handed her a wad of bills, and she promised to pay him back. As the plane began its descent, Jason stressed to Britt that whatever she was hiding, she didn’t have to hide it from him.

Admit One

Carly strode into Anna’s office to reveal that she had threatened to kill Drew the night he was shot. The police commissioner wondered if she wanted a lawyer present, but Carly insisted she didn’t actually shoot him, but knew Drew would tell her about the threat, so she wanted to get ahead of it. She reminded Anna that she already had an alibi — Jack. Anna countered that Brennan was one of the best liars she knew and warned Carly she shouldn’t trust him either. Carly declared that they had an understanding and Jack would never lie to her… just as Jason stepped into the doorway.

The Walking Dead

Dante and Lulu met Rocco at the hospital when he arrived with Obrecht, who was surprised to see Nina with Lulu. Lucas called Rocco in to get stitched up, and the teen urged his parents not to be mad at Obrecht. Dante actually thanked Liesl for looking after their son.

Outside, Britt walked up to the doors and steeled herself before they parted and she stepped inside, taking in the familiar sights. Liz stopped in her tracks, and her eyes widened as she stammered, “Oh my God… Britt?” At the mention of her name, Obrecht turned, and her jaw dropped at the sight of her daughter. Nina and Dante were also shocked as Lulu remarked that they thought she was dead. “Well, believe it or not, Lulu,” Britt snarked, “I’m back.” Overcome, Obrecht fainted into Nina’s arms.
