General Hospital: Brandon Barash Granted Restraining Order Against Kirsten Storms

Comments

General Hospital star Kirsten Storms (Maxie) is the subject of an emergency restraining order obtained by her ex-husband, Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny, GH; ex-Jake/Stefan, Days of Our Lives), according to TMZ, which obtained court documents related to the case.

Concerns Outlined in Court Documents

TMZ says that in filing for the emergency order, Barash detailed his worry over Storms’s mental health in the court documents, citing his “great concern [for her] ability to adequately care for the minor child” and also requested that she undergo a mental health evaluation.

Barash and Storms met on the set of GH and tied the knot in 2013. They welcomed their daughter the following January and divorced amicably in 2016. Barash has since remarried, and he and wife Isabella are currently expecting their second son.

In 2025, after Barash relocated to Nashville, TN, Storms followed suit. She announced last July that she was taking a lengthy hiatus from playing Maxie to achieve her cross-country move and help her daughter adjust to her new surroundings. “I really want to thank GH, the ABC network executives, the writers for agreeing to let me take this time,” she stated in an Instagram video. “I know Frank [Valentini, executive producer] and the producers there know my reasons and I am so grateful that they understand and are supportive.”

The actress returned to work at GH in January, and aired for the first time on February 12. She seemed poised to take part in a major storyline, as Maxie emerged from a long coma to find that her “late” husband, Nathan (Ryan Paevey), had returned from the dead and was now romantically linked to her best friend, Lulu (Alexa Havins). However, she has only appeared in a handful of episodes since then, the last of which aired in mid-March.

Storms has not addressed her status with the show on social media, but in February, she began posting videos on Instagram asking for help after her home computer network was hacked and shared that it was “really freaking me out.”

According to TMZ, Storms is allowed supervised visitation with her daughter, and the judge in the case will be reviewing the “status of the restraining order” later this week.
