General Hospital Star Kirsten Storms Goes Public with Hacking Crisis: ‘It’s Really Freaking Me Out’
For the past couple of months, General Hospital star Kirsten Storms (Maxie) has been going through a frightening situation — and she made the decision to go public with it in the hopes of finding someone who can help her deal with it. The Nashville-based actress revealed in a series of videos she posted to Instagram that her home computer network has been hacked, and she’s looking for someone with experience in this area to help her fix it.
Invasion of Privacy
“Hey guys,” Storms said in the first video. “Haven’t been on Instagram in a little bit, besides posting like, two pictures, but really important — I was wondering if anyone who follows me knows someone who investigates or looks into devices being hacked. My cell phone and my internet router, when I moved to Tennessee, were both accessed by someone or several people who are not me or anyone I know. And my iCloud eventually got accessed. I had to get a new device. I have not gotten a new Apple account; don’t think I will. But I really need to find someone who can look into it for me.”
The actress asked her fans to contact her via direct message on Instagram if they know of someone who might be able to help, because while she did go to the proper authorities to report the crime, the local police are not equipped to deal with something of a cybersecurity nature. Storms announced back in July 2025 that she was moving to Tennessee with her daughter, Harper, whom she shares with ex-husband Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny, GH; ex Stefan/Jake, Days of Our Lives).
“I did file a police report with the Franklin PD,” Storms clarified in a follow-up video. “They were so kind about it. Had to go back to L.A. for work because Maxie woke up from her coma, but now that I’m back in Tennessee, I’m trying to follow up with it. Because I’m having some stuff with my internet that’s still very concerning. So if you know someone, I have like, a video of MAC addresses and a bunch of other stuff that came from my router box at my apartment in Franklin. And then a few other things. I know I never post stuff like this; I just don’t know what to do because the police department doesn’t have a cyber division, and I would have to submit it to the state people. And I would really like to get this figured out now. It’s really freaking me out.”
The following day, she posted a third video where she apologized to her fans for all of these posts and revealed that she has been dealing with this crisis since before she returned to GH at the beginning of 2026.
“I’ve kind of been sitting on it since December,” Storms shared. “And I think now that I’ve been back in Tennessee for like, two weeks, and it’s not been like, solved or figured out or handled who has been doing this. Like, pretty much accessed my apartment and they were relentlessly getting on my internet and doing stuff to my accounts. It’s freaking me out a little bit now that I’m here. And I did go to the Franklin police department today again. That kind of motivated me to put this online to see if anyone knows a cybersecurity person. I appreciate the messages. I’m really hoping somebody has like, a cousin or a brother who really knows computers. But thank you guys, for at least reposting. Really appreciate it.”
