Eileen Davidson Returns to The Young and the Restless After Real-Life Injury
Almost a week after Eileen Davidson announced that she had fractured her kneecap, the actress revealed that she is already back on set as Ashley Abbott on The Young and the Restless.
Eileen Davidson Is Back at Y&R as Ashley
On September 18, Davidson posted to Instagram to share the news that she had fractured her patella after slipping while getting out of a cold plunge. On September 24, the actress posted again, sharing a photo of an X-ray showing the screws in her kneecap following surgery followed by a selfie taken in the mirror of her dressing room at the Y&R studio. In that photo, she is bracing herself on a crutch to take the shot, showing off the brace on her leg and the bandage on her knee.
“Apparently it’s true,” Davidson captioned her post. “The show must go on!”
She went on to express her gratitude to the soap’s hairstylist Lauren Mendoza, makeup artist Orlando Marin, and costume designer Mandi Line for “helping me pull it all together.”
Davidson also shared a special thanks to her TV daughter, Melissa Ordway (Abby), for what she called “logistical stuff,” as well as a shout-out to her husband, Vincent Van Patten (ex-Christian Page, Y&R), “for transpo and carrying things and feeding me and everything else.”
Ashley was last seen on screen in the August 17 episode of Y&R when Jack (Peter Bergman) filled her and Traci (Beth Maitland) in on Billy’s (Jason Thompson) desire to take over Chancellor.
With Billy and Sally’s (Courtney Hope) wedding coming up in October, Ashley will once again be in the mix. As the Y&R Fall Preview teased, Ashley and Traci are going to have different opinions about their brother’s decision to walk down the aisle with Ms. Spectra.
