Rena Sofer (Quinn, B&B; ex-Lois, GH)
“If it weren’t for [then-Executive Producer] Wendy Riche, [then-Head Writer] Claire Labine and Wally Kurth [Ned, GH; Justin DAYS, r.], I would not have the life that I have right now. All three of them set me on a path in three completely different ways: Wendy gave me my job, Claire wrote a story that was one of the greatest love stories of daytime television with one of the most original daytime characters, and then Wally gave me two of the greatest gifts of my entire life. Wally gave me [stepdaughter] Meghann and because of Meghann, gave me [daughter] Rosabel. I don’t think there’s anything I am more proud of in my life than the work I did on that show and my children.”

Scott Clifton (Liam, B&B; ex-Dillon, GH)
“I have really fond memories of Jane [Elliot, ex-Tracy, below l.] taking me under her wing in the beginning. She’s so sweet. She was very protective of me. She made an announcement on the set and got everybody’s attention and she said, ‘This is Scott Clifton. He will be playing my son. If I find out you’ve mistreated him, you’ll be hearing from me,’ and I believed her. I really learned from her and Tony [Geary, ex-Luke]. They both drilled it into me that there was this epidemic among young male actors where they want to play everything so internalized and so subtle and kind of gritty and everything monotone, and Tony and Jane said, ‘You can be real and you can be interesting at the same time. The greatest sin is to be boring. Don’t be boring!’ I think having that philosophy has saved my career in a lot of ways. I could have easily have fallen into the same trap as a lot of those young guys, and I didn’t because of them.”

“I would have to say my last day, and I mean this with all my heart. I worked with my faves, Kimberly [McCullough, Robin], Finola [Hughes, Anna], Brooklyn [Rae Silzer, Emma, below], Kelly [Monaco, Sam] and Maurice Benard [Sonny]. We shared cake, we laughed and cried. I was able to tell people how much I loved them, respected and appreciated them. It was why I love my job. In the moment, I was grateful for the adventure and looking forward to the next one.”

“My first day at GENERAL HOSPITAL stands out. Making my very first entrance as Stefan Darius Mikkosovich Cassadine through the massive doors of Wyndemere, which were literally situated at the ceiling of the sound stage, then advancing down, down, down the steps and onto the docks of Spoon Island. The adrenaline and excitement of those first moments, taking in that lavish, monstrous set, telling a beautifully crafted story, working with wonderful actors and crew, the beginning of a new role, the new wave of the Cassadines. That, I will never forget. It was a sweet and glorious time. Heartfelt thanks to all who made it work so beautifully.”

“My best memory is by far my first day because I had never acted before. It was my first job, it was a coveted role to get. They had been casting for months and it was such an arduous process to have to go through that to be able to get that call and be told that I’m joining this iconic cast and I’m going to be part of GENERAL HOSPITAL history was a glorious day for me and I will always remember it.”
