Rumor Report: All My Children Star Cast on Beyond the Gates?

Comments

Another familiar daytime face could be heading to Beyond the Gates, as All My Children alum Colin Egglesfield (ex-Josh) is rumored to be joining the cast.

Is Colin Egglesfield Joining Beyond the Gates?

According to Closer Weekly, Egglesfield shared a post on his Instagram from a dressing room — which he has since deleted — that teased, “Can’t say what I’m working on but you’ll find out soon-ish.” In his Instagram Stories, the actor also shared a photo of himself lying on a blue couch that looks similar to those seen in the dressing rooms at the BTG studio in Atlanta.

Furthering the speculation, Egglesfield’s Instagram account shows that BTG stars Jen Jacob (Ashley), Angela Fairley (Deanna) and Maurice P. Kerry (Randy), have begun following him on Instagram, and he is following Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole) and Karla Mosley (Dani).

BTG has already tapped several daytime alumni to join its cast in recent months. Greg Vaughan (ex-Eric, Days of Our Lives et al) began his run as Kial in December 2025, and Jordi Vilasuso (ex-Rey, The Young and the Restless et al) started as Greyson in January 2026. And just last month, Ashley Jones (Bridget, The Bold and the Beautiful) entered the Fairmont Crest scene as Heather Armstrong.

If Egglesfield did pop up on the show, it would mark his first role on daytime in 17 years.

The actor made his daytime debut in 2005 when he was cast on AMC as Josh Madden, who was raised as the son of the diabolical OB/GYN Josh Madden (Ian Buchanan). As his story continued, it was revealed that Josh’s biological parents were actually Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Jeff Martin (John James) — Greg had stolen Erica’s embryo and implanted it into his own wife! The controversial plot twist was roasted by fans and critics alike as it undid the landmark story of Erica’s 1973 abortion, the first legal abortion in soap opera history.

After Josh was killed off in 2009,  Egglesfield landed the role of Auggie Kirkpatrick on the reboot of the prime time sudser Melrose Place that same year. Other notable prime-time roles include Evan Parks on The Client List and Tommy Rizzoli on Rizzoli & Isles. Egglesfield has appeared in TV movies like A Christmas Witness and A Rose for Her Grave: The Randy Roth Story.

Egglesfield is also a cancer survivor, having battled testicular cancer twice and, in 2025, announcing he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. But a month after sharing his diagnosis, the actor reported that he had completed treatment and was now “cancer-free for the third time.”

On the photo posted to his Instagram Stories, Egglesfield wrote, “You got this. No matter what life throws at you, you’ve made it this far which proves you can overcome anything.”
