General Hospital Reveals That Cassius Faison Is Alive!
General Hospital revealed in the July 6 episode that Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevey) is alive after he appeared to die in the Wyndemere docks shootout. In the episode’s closing moments, viewers learned that Cassius is being held in WSB custody, handcuffed to a hospital bed and facing serious criminal charges.
A Prisoner of the WSB
At the end of the July 6 episode, Z (John Oliver), the head of the WSB, entered a secure facility flanked by two agents and strode into the room where Cassius was recovering. Relieved to be alive, Cassius immediately worried about the fates Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy), but Z coldly informed him that he wasn’t cleared to receive that information.
“You’re a prisoner,” Z announced. “You’re being held for jeopardizing national security, nuclear conspiracy, kidnapping and murder.” Cassius insisted that Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) had lied, but Z replied that Cullum had died trying to stop his evil plot, at least according to Agent Jacks’s sworn testimony.
Cassius was confused, but the reason Josslyn had lied in her statement soon became clear. “You’re gonna be charged with multiple crimes, and will likely face the death penalty,” Z warned. He then leaned in to add, “Or, you can work for me.”

Why Everyone Thought Cassius Had Died
In the July 2 episode, Cassius was shot by Cullum, who boasted that he would pin everything on him and emerge the hero. Josslyn had also been shot, but she managed to fire a bullet into Cullum, killing him.
Z then arrived by helicopter. He checked Cassius’s pulse but quickly moved on, making it appear there was nothing more that could be done to save him.
In the aftermath of the shootout, Z spread the word to Josslyn that Cassius had not survived. In the July 6 episode, WSB Agent Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) delivered the same news to Cassius’ cousin Nina (Cynthia Watros), who in turn broke it to Cassius’s mother, Obrecht, and his sister, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud).
While has now revealed to viewers that Cassius survived, it has yet to answer the question of whether he will accept Z’s offer to become a WSB operative — or face prosecution for crimes he insists he didn’t commit.
Between the options of being executed or becoming an undercover WSB agent, the choice would seem obvious. And with everyone in Port Charles believing Cassius is dead, Z can spirit him away without anyone ever thinking to look for him. But will this really be the last GH viewers see of Cassius?
