General Hospital Recap: Willow’s Alibi Crumbles, Britt Blasts Jason, Carly Lashes Out At Jack And More
There were some intense conversations had on the October 9 episode of General Hospital. Nathan (Ryan Paevey) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) figured out how to proceed, Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) railed against Jason (Steve Burton) for not putting her first, Carly (Laura Wright) lashed out at Jack (Chris McKenna) for breaking her trust, and Michael (Rory Gibson) gave Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) another chance to see the kids, just as Anna (Finola Hughes) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) poked a giant hole in her alibi for the night Drew was shot!
Let’s Make A Deal
Carly consoled Josslyn, who was pretending to be devastated that Vaughn lied to her about being a WSB agent. Joss claimed that she’d been trying to move on after Vaughn ghosted her, but when she went to Jack’s office to invite him to a family dinner, she saw Vaughn there, and he finally admitted the “truth.” Furious, Carly flipped out that Jack had neglected to share that information, since it could have put Joss in danger. Keeping secrets from her about his work was different than keeping her in the dark about her daughter, Carly fumed.

Meanwhile, Jason was waiting for Carly to meet him at Pier 54, but Jack showed up instead, intent on making sure Jason kept quiet about Josslyn’s status as a WSB agent. Brennan warned that if Jason told Carly, it would cost Britt her freedom, since she’d broken numerous international laws. Jason realized that to avoid hurting Carly and to prevent Britt from dying of Huntington’s in a Steinmauer jail cell, he had to play by Brennan’s rules. Telling Brennan to come straight to him like a man next time he had something to discuss, rather than tricking him into a meeting, Jason stalked off. Then, Jack got a call from an angry Carly, who summoned him to her house.
On The Rocks
Once Jack arrived at Carly’s, Joss exited to give them privacy, and he immediately picked up on Carly’s “hostile” vibes. She blasted him for lying to her and placing her daughter in danger. “You listened to me when I told you that I was worried about Josslyn dating Vaughn, all the while you knew he was pretending to be somebody he wasn’t,” she snapped. “You violated my trust!” Turning the conversation around, Jack reminded Carly that she knew there were going to be times when he had to keep things from her, and this was one of those instances. A teary Carly conceded that perhaps she couldn’t separate Jack the WSB agent from Jack the boyfriend after all, and sobbed that she wanted to trust him and believe in their relationship.

After leaving her mom’s, Joss called Vaughn to meet her at the pier, even though they’d agreed not to have contact with one another. He was shocked to hear that Josslyn told her mom he was a WSB agent, so she explained that Brennan had wanted her to distract her mom while he worked on convincing Jason to stay quiet. To do that, she took a page from Vaughn’s playbook and used the truth, just like he taught her in training. Impressed, Vaughn praised her for the smart move since Carly was going to find out eventually, but said she’d made a mistake in warning him. Joss didn’t want him to be blindsided after all that they’d shared, leading them to discuss their short-lived romance. Even though that’s now in the past, “knowing and accepting are two very different things,” Josslyn lamented. Stating that things shift fast in their world and anything was possible in the future, Vaughn pulled Joss in for a kiss before saying good-bye.

Weeping Willow
In her office, Anna told Dante that ballistics confirmed that the bullet extracted from Drew matched the missing revolver from Edward Quartermaine’s collection. Since he resided at the mansion, she asked him to help her figure out who might have taken the gun. They theorized that either the person who shot Drew didn’t put the gun back, or it was disposed of while the police dealt with the paperwork issue. Narrowing the suspects to those with access to the Quartermaine house, Carly topped the list — especially since she has a history of violence when it comes to protecting her children, Anna noted. Plus, added the commissioner, her alibi was worthless since Jack Brennan lied for a living and would easily cover for her.

Anna’s second person of interest was Michael, who also had an unreliable and convenient alibi in Jacinda. Dante didn’t think Michael was responsible but acknowledged that the evidence was stacked against his brother. Anna invited him to pitch his case as to why they shouldn’t restrict their investigation to just those living at the Quartermaine estate. Dante noted that plenty of people visit the house, and the security system could be breached, pointing to Michael’s suspicion that Willow had been sneaking into the house to target Daisy. Having not heard about those incidents before (because Michael had no proof to pursue it), Anna focused her line of thinking on Willow. She didn’t have a history of violence, but she did have a motive. Then, Anna brought up security footage on the computer from Nina’s building, which placed her at home at the exact same time she’d claimed she was out for a walk with Willow the night Drew was shot. “Willow’s alibi just evaporated,” Dante proclaimed.
An Olive Branch
Michael was waiting for Willow at Elizabeth’s when she got home from work. An emotional Willow shared her condolences about Monica before they pivoted to discussing the new date for her visitation case. When Willow broke down at the thought of not seeing her children until the new year, Michael pitched the idea for her to spend time with Wiley and Amelia, without Drew being involved, at weekly family therapy sessions. Initially grateful to have the chance to see the kids, Willow wondered if the therapist was on Michael’s payroll and would ultimately speak out against her during the new hearing. Despite her reservations and knowing that Michael held all the power, she conceded to his terms.

Maxie-mum Effect
Britt visited Nathan and learned that he was being discharged and planned to reclaim his life in Port Charles. They were interrupted by Spinelli, who wanted to discuss Nathan’s next steps now that he was back in James’s life, but Britt barked at him that it was not the time to do so. Agreeing to pick up the conversation later, Spinelli left. Britt returned to work after getting her brother to promise that they’d catch up later, too.
Next, Spinelli approached Britt in the hallway, wanting to know why she’d pushed off Nathan meeting James. Not buying Britt’s claim that she’d been worried the introduction might be too much for her nephew to handle, Spinelli noted that the resurrection of both of Faison’s children in a matter of weeks was “astonishing.” While he believed that Nathan truly didn’t know what happened to him, Spinelli found Britt’s lack of explanation about where she’d been suspicious. Britt disclosed that she’d been working at a spa, enjoying her peace and anonymity until Jason showed up demanding answers, then stormed off when Spinelli insinuated that her friends and family had deserved to know she was still alive.
Britt went off to call Jason, and Spinelli returned to Nathan’s room. They spoke about how Maxie’s absence has affected her family, and Spinelli urged Nathan to be a consistent presence in James’s life. Nathan frowned that not remembering the last seven years of his life and knowing he hadn’t been there for his son was difficult, but what Spinelli and the kids are going through with Maxie’s illness is worse. Spinelli realized that Nathan still loved her, and Nathan confided that he was grateful she and the kids had him to rely on while he’d been gone. He also agreed to follow Spinelli’s lead when it came to spending time with James and being the father the boy needed and deserved.

After his chat with Brennan, Jason met Britt at G.H. She recounted her conversation with Spinelli, how he thought she had a hidden agenda and was involved in Nathan’s sudden reappearance. Jason offered to speak to Spinelli on Britt’s behalf, at least to advocate that she would never hurt James. But there were so many unanswered questions about what she was doing at the Five Poppies, Jason added, that he couldn’t really help her out if she kept holding things back. He needed to know what she’d been doing at the Five Poppies to protect her. Britt shot back that he wouldn’t need to know that if she were Carly, but Jason countered that Carly would have told him that info without him having to ask. Tired of the back and forth between them, Britt ordered Jason to either commit to putting her first or stay out of her life and got angry when he replied that he’d do whatever he could for her. “Another of your classic non-answers. Which, of course, is an answer. Just not the one I wanted,” she sadly retorted before walking away.

Do you think Willow may have shot Drew? Was Carly too forgiving of Jack? Is Spinelli right to be worried about Nathan’s presence in James’s life? Share your thoughts about the latest episode of GH in the comments below!
