General Hospital Recap: Willow Blackmails Alexis, Britt’s Life is Threatened, Anna Escapes, and More

Comments

The storm may be over, but the drama continued in the February 2 episode of General Hospital. Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) found herself pressured by Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) made a horrifying discovery, Marco (Adrian Anchondo) rushed to squash Lucas’s (Van Hansis) suspicions, Michael (Rory Gibson) refused to compromise, Emma (Braedyn Bruner) finally got some news about Anna (Finola Hughes), and that’s not all! Here’s the full recap.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place

When Alexis arrived at the office, Suzanne warned her she had a visitor, and the attorney braced herself before entering to find it was Willow. She reported that Drew’s status was unchanged and lamented that he was supposed to be at her side during the upcoming custody trial. After her success in getting her acquitted of shooting Drew, Willow wanted Alexis to represent her in family court as well. Alexis demurred, arguing that it wasn’t really her field, but Willow insisted she couldn’t trust Ric again after he disappeared on her last time. Believing she had a stronger case now that Michael would be charged with shooting Drew, thanks to Alexis’s efforts, Willow handed the lawyer a file detailing Jacinda’s criminal history to use against Michael in court. Trying to hand it back, Alexis again turned her down. Willow cried that getting her kids back was more important than her own freedom. “You’d do anything for Scout, right?” she declared. “I mean, you would practically do anything to make sure that Sam’s daughter feels loved and cared for. Well, that’s the same way with me and my kids. I think that’s why we get along so well, because we both understand that you do what you have to for the people you love. You don’t always have to like it, you just have to do it.”

Alexis offered to review Jacinda’s file and consider the case, but Willow wouldn’t give up and stopped being quite so subtle about threatening Alexis’s visitation time with Scout if she didn’t do as ordered. Angry, Alexis declined the file and declared she’d do this her way, since the case was supposedly so strong. After a tearful Willow expressed her gratitude and exited, Alexis groused to Suzanne that she’d just been blackmailed into representing Willow at her custody hearing. Suzanne suggested that Willow genuinely seemed to love her children, which is very different from pretending to love Drew, but Alexis angrily pointed out that they have no way of knowing how Willow really feels because she’s a very good liar. Alexis wasn’t sure she really should be helping return Wiley and Amelia to a woman who shot her husband in the back. Suzanne reminded her that the final decision was the judge’s and suggested she let justice take its course, which got a rueful chuckle out of Alexis. She wondered what would happen if Michael got arrested and Willow got custody. “How can I stay quiet just because I’m getting what I want?” she mused.

The Best Laid Plans

Britt awoke to find Jason stoking the fire at the harbormaster’s cottage and assured him she was feeling much better after nearly freezing the night before. She wished they could stay here alone, away from the rest of the world, and admitted it would be hard keeping their distance from each other so Sidwell and Cullum didn’t catch on that he was trying to help free her from their clutches. Later, as they prepared to leave, he promised that they were in this together, and she expressed how much she trusted him. He declared that last night was amazing and promised he wouldn’t abandon her. Britt suggested he could still sneak in to visit, but he refused to take that risk. Though when he suggested he would sneak into her room to steal a vial of her medicine so they could have it reverse engineered, she worried that was too risky. She also fretted about how long it might take to duplicate the medication, and was amused to see Jason being so optimistic about this. She then kissed him passionately. As they left, he explained they weren’t going to the pier because they couldn’t be seen together, and she reminded him her phone washed away in the storm, so she couldn’t call for a car. When he suggested she take a bus, she was aghast, and they bantered as they walked out of the house. Britt returned to her room at Bobbie’s and opened her drawer, stunned to see it empty. After tearing apart the place looking for her medication, she was horrified to come up empty.

Watch Your Step

After spending the night at the Metro Court, Lucas enjoyed lunch with Marco at Bobbie’s and pitched the idea of getting their own place together on the mainland. He explained that he wanted them to have a space of their own, and Marco wondered if he wasn’t happy at Wyndemere. Lucas insisted it was great, but it’s really his father’s place. Marco admitted that he’s been growing closer to his dad and didn’t want to lose that by moving out right now. Lucas understood, but added that Pascal creeps him out, like when he recently surprised him in the wine cellar, and he couldn’t figure out where the butler had come from. Marco tried to dismiss it, but Lucas was genuinely freaked out and suspected he came from the catacombs. Marco snapped at him to leave the catacombs alone and quickly apologized, spinning a story about getting lost in a cave as a kid to explain away his concern.

Lucas argued that he was an adult and could take care of himself, then noticed Britt walk in wearing the same clothes as yesterday and grinned, “If that’s not a walk of shame, I don’t know what is.” Marco apologized for Pascal, and Lucas admitted he understood why he wanted to keep living with his dad right now. When he joked about finding a secret passage to scare Pascal back, Marco again urged him to stay out of the catacombs. Lucas reminded him he used to live there and was familiar with the tunnels, but ultimately agreed to stay away from them. Marco assured him that staying at Wyndemere wouldn’t be permanent and suggested they could start looking for a place in May.

As the Stomach Turns

Also having lunch at Bobbie’s, Jacinda and Michael shared how they spent the stormy night separately, and she teased him about his failed attempts to make pancakes for the kids this morning. Kristina entered and was pleased to see her brother looking so happy. She reported that Molly spent the storm with Cody and that Scout was doing well living with them now. Michael felt bad to admit that he appreciated how Drew’s stroke got him out of their lives. Kristina asked about the investigation, and Michael reported that he hadn’t heard anything, suspecting Turner didn’t want to prosecute another case she couldn’t win. As Jacinda stepped away to take a call, Kristina asked how he was doing living with Dante and Chase, and he admitted it was difficult being around the acting police commissioner and a cop so solidly on Willow’s side. Jacinda returned to relay that Nina wouldn’t be in the office until later, and Kristina asked how her job was going. Jacinda said Nina still hated her, but she wasn’t going to quit and let her win, especially when there was so much to learn from her about fashion. Then Michael got a call from Sonny asking him to come to the house.

Alone, Kristina was happy seeing her brother so happy in this relationship, and Jacinda couldn’t believe how understanding Michael was when the truth that she was with Ezra the night Drew was shot came out. Kristina was reassuring, and Jacinda promised she’d never lie to him again. They were then interrupted by Willow, who animatedly asked about Scout before revealing that Alexis was going to represent her in the custody hearing and thanked Jacinda for helping reunite her with her kids. Jacinda snarked that she’d lost touch with reality again, but Willow informed her that because of her sketchy past, no judge would let her kids be anywhere near the former escort. Kristina suggested Willow take a look in the mirror before dragging Jacinda through the mud, and Willow shot back to remind Kristina she’d made plenty of mistakes in her own life, adding, “Your unwarranted attack is making me think twice about who Alexis exposes Drew’s daughter to.”

Agree to Disagree

Sonny invited Ric over to ask him to help Michael keep his kids, but Ric reminded his brother that he had represented Willow in the custody trial, so he couldn’t switch sides. Sonny didn’t want his grandchildren suffering as Willow and Michael continued fighting, and wanted him to help broker some kind of an agreement between the parents. Ric appreciated his faith in him as a lawyer, but doubled that Michael and Willow could ever reach a compromise. He also suspected Michael would want nothing to do with him after his aggressive questioning of Sasha during the previous custody hearing caused her to go into labor.

Michael arrived and was displeased to see Ric, but Sonny insisted that he was going to help make peace between him and Willow. Michael refused to compromise because he was in a better position, but Ric pointed out that Willow married a congressman and was exonerated, while he was now under suspicion. He warned that Willow was definitely going to get visitation of some kind, which could open the door to more down the line. Sonny urged his son to compromise so he — not a judge — could help set the limits. Michael angrily declared that negotiating would be a sign of weakness, then got a call and quickly excused himself to meet Diane at the DA’s office, relaying that Turner wanted to talk to him about Drew’s shooting.

Breaking News

Chase was telling Brook Lynn about his plans to enjoy the snow with Wiley and Leo when Gio and Emma interrupted to ask how mad Tracy was at them. Brook Lynn hadn’t seen Tracy all night and worried when she couldn’t get her grandmother on the phone. Gio suspected she went to Drew’s herself to get back the Quartermaine heirlooms and explained they were supposed to help, but got stuck inside because of the storm. As Brook Lynn feared something happened to Tracy, Chase made a call and reported that Tracy’s car wasn’t in any accidents. Just then, Tracy walked in complaining, and everyone enveloped her in a big group hug. Tracy explained that she got stuck in hell with Martin, but they managed to resolve things.

They warily wondered what she’d done to Martin, but she insisted she didn’t do anything except get him to load their belongings into her car. Brook Lynn noted the decanter she’d been holding the whole time, and Tracy insisted it was “symbolic.” Chase chided Tracy for going into Drew’s without checking with Willow first, but Emma argued that you don’t need permission from a thief to take back what they stole, and Gio reminded him that Drew walked away while Ned was having a heart attack. Chase noted Gio was sounding like a real Quartermaine, and warned Tracy that while he wasn’t defending Drew, taking the law into her own hands was dangerous. Tracy pointed out that Drew’s attorney was there and didn’t object, so Chase backed down.

Just then, Jason entered. Brook Lynn informed him that Danny, Rocco, and Charlotte spent most of the storm in the gatehouse, and when Jason didn’t see a problem with that, Chase suggested that not knowing where your kid was during a snowstorm wasn’t a great look. Jason glared back, but then Emma got a call about Anna and reported to everyone that her grandmother had been found in a small town in France. “Apparently, she flagged down a car on a remote road, said she was being held prisoner, and escaped,” she explained. “And then she said that she needed to warn everyone that… that Cesar Faison is alive.”
