Comments

The October 13 episode of General Hospital saw Sonny (Maurice Benard) trying to protect Michael (Rory Gibson), Carly (Laura Wright) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) going at it once again over their children, Nathan (Ryan Paevey) asking Anna (Finola Hughes) for his job back, Drew (Cameron Mathison) making more promises to Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) about her custody situation, and two people were arrested! Get caught up on all the action below.

Spousal Support

Chase returned from a run to find Brook Lynn packing up Lila’s fine china, per Tracy’s demand, after the debacle with Ronnie using the teapot. Brook Lynn expressed her gratitude that he had the day off, and Chase remarked that he suspected that was on purpose because he couldn’t be objective about Willow being one of the PCPD’s suspects in Drew’s case. Chase worried that he had put Willow on Anna’s radar when he suggested that Drew had Judge Heran killed before she could grant Willow visitation with her kids, and by sharing his theory with Willow, he’d given her a motive. “All I wanted to do was help, but I turned her into a suspect,” Chase bemoaned.

Trying to assuage her husband’s guilt, Brook Lynn pointed out that Willow’s bad decisions led her to be in this situation, not a theory Chase shared with Anna. Chase marveled at how, after breaking up with Willow, he got so lucky to find Brook Lynn while his ex-wife’s life imploded. To that, Brook Lynn told her husband that she was the lucky one, since he put up with her crazy family, and said she admired how he always saw the good in people. Their heart-to-heart was interrupted when Chase got a call from the station. “Yes, I will pick up the warrant and make the arrest immediately,” he stated.

On The Move

In his hospital room, Drew agreed to support Willow through supervised therapy sessions with the kids and asked her again to move back in with him, which would send a message to Michael that he doesn’t get to run her life. Willow held firm that she didn’t want to rock the boat with Michael and gamble on the time she was being given with her kids, but Drew insisted that his nephew was controlling her and using the kids to keep them apart. Bringing up Lulu’s article in the Port Charles Press, Drew noted that Michael’s arrest for shooting him was imminent, and would enable her to regain custody of Wiley and Amelia. When Drew asked Willow to have faith in him and the life they could build together as a family, she agreed to move back into his house. But as they hugged, Willow’s expression was stoic, and she didn’t embrace Drew when he kissed her. Willow then left to attend her therapy session, with Drew promising to see her later at home.

Returning To The Scene Of The Crime

Fulfilling Drew’s request to get the house ready for his return, Kai brought Trina along so they could search around and cover their tracks from the night of the shooting. As they retraced their steps from that night, they recalled hearing Scout’s ringtone of “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” on Drew’s phone just after the second gunshot. Trina thought that phone call stopped the shooter from finishing Drew off, and Kai added that Scout may have saved her father’s life. Discussing the steps they took after the shooter left, Kai blamed himself for being careful not to touch the door handle, only to leave the softball bat with his prints all over it for the cops to find. He and Trina worried that if the police placed him at the scene, they could connect him to her, the contents of the safe, and eventually her parents.

Taking a breath, Kai reasoned that as Drew’s loyal intern and an athlete, the cops would probably believe he’d gotten his fingerprints on the bat during some other visit to Drew’s home. Trina was relieved that they had a plausible explanation and wished she could tell her parents that the evidence Drew had against her mom had been destroyed, but they couldn’t know she was there that night. Trina and Kai agreed to forget that it ever happened before she left to meet her father. Later, Drew arrived home to the house that Kai had prepared for him, and happily shared that Willow had agreed to move back in.

Covering Bases

Portia went to Curtis’s office at Aurora to discuss how they should tell Trina they were divorcing. He informed her that he had it on good authority that Drew may accuse one of them of shooting him, noting that as long as they stayed married, they wouldn’t be compelled to testify against each other. Proclaiming her innocence, Portia seethed that Drew no longer had the proof to blackmail her with, so she had no motive to shoot him. She didn’t even act on her thoughts to kill him when she had the chance in the operating room, she added. Portia then wondered if Curtis needed her protection, but he argued that if he had been the one to shoot Drew, he would have wanted his former friend to see him coming, not shoot him in the back. Curtis revealed that his source also told him that Drew planned to sic the PCPD on him and Portia if he couldn’t get Michael arrested. Portia wasn’t worried about that, explaining she’d been at Elizabeth’s earlier when the police showed up to search the house because Willow was a suspect. Trina then arrived at her dad’s office and was saddened to learn that her parents were getting a divorce.

Career Opportunities

Over coffee with Anna in her office, Dante shared that he’d heard from the D.A.’s office that ADA Turner was giving the evidence they’d found at Elizabeth’s house directly to the judge to keep a lid on the arrest warrants. Anna hoped that by keeping the warrants on the down-low, the suspects wouldn’t catch wind of it and talk amongst themselves. They paused their conversation when Nathan arrived. Dante shared a warm reunion with his friend and former partner.

Nathan thanked Anna for being the one to break the news to his family that he was still alive, and gushed over how incredible a kid James was, then revealed there was something he wanted to discuss with Anna. Dante headed out, and once he was alone with Anna, Nathan asked to have his badge reinstated, not only wanting to return to the profession he loves but to be able to support his son. Although hesitant, Anna agreed to look into the possibility of Nathan’s return. She warned him that it may never happen because of the unusual circumstances surrounding his return, and they needed to know what he’d been doing for the past seven years. They parted ways on a hug, during which both Anna and Nathan looked rather pensive.

Innocent Act?

Sonny asked Michael to meet him at Miller & Davis, wanting to get his son’s defense team in place just in case. While they were alone in the office, Sonny asked his son once again if he’d tried to kill Drew, but Michael stated despite how much he hated Drew for what he’d done, he’d spent that night with a woman he met at the Port Charles Grill. Sonny didn’t think that alibi was enough to stick, and worried his son was going to be arrested.

Michael reassured Sonny that he wasn’t going to be the one who got charged. “Do you know something I don’t know?” Sonny demanded. Michael said he didn’t; he just meant that he was sure Anna and Dante would follow the evidence to the person responsible — which wasn’t him. Sonny believed Michael was being naive. Michael responded that he was more worried about protecting his kids than proving his innocence and spat that Drew was the reason his marriage fell apart. “The woman I love is now someone that I can no longer trust unsupervised around my kids. So, I have to do whatever it takes to make sure she can’t get them back.”

After Michael left, Dante arrived at the law office, and Sonny asked him if the PCPD was planning to arrest Michael. Dante pointed out that not only did Michael have multiple motives, but he was a grown man, and Sonny couldn’t protect him from the consequences of his actions. However, when Dante confirmed that the police have multiple warrants for arrest, and none of them are for Michael, Sonny heaved a sigh of relief. “But I don’t think you’re going to like who we are bringing in,” Dante warned before walking out.

Arrested Development

Arriving for a lunch date at Bobbie’s, Nina boasted to Carly how pleased she was that Michael was “finally being reasonable” and allowing Willow to see the kids. She thought it was a step in the right direction for a custody agreement, but Carly snarked that the play session was being supervised by a mental health professional. They continued to argue over their children’s split, Drew and Willow’s affair as well as the one Nina had with Drew behind Willow’s back, Michael’s alibi being a call girl, his accident and recovery, and the bitter custody fight. Then, Nina smirked that maybe it was Carly, not Michael, who shot Drew. Carly retorted that Nina had multiple reasons to shoot Drew, leading Nina to point out that both Carly and Michael had violent tempers. As their conversation escalated, with Carly calling Nina and both of her daughters psychos, Nathan arrived and broke them apart.

As Nathan and Nina ate lunch, Sonny arrived and told Carly that he had the jet ready to go since the police were serving warrants — and since they weren’t targeting Michael, that left her. But before they could leave, Chase and an officer showed up at the diner. Just as Nina gleefully chirped that Carly was going down, Chase approached her table and placed her under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder!

Meanwhile, in a therapist’s office at G.H., Michael and Willow were playing with Wiley and Amelia when Dante and Anna showed up. As Michael brought the kids up to sit with him on the couch, Dante and Anna arrested Willow for the attempted murder of Congressman Cain — and Michael did not seem to be surprised…
