General Hospital Recap: Sonny Warns Laura, The Qs Abandon Tracy and Drew Threatens Alexis

Comments

The November 4 episode of General Hospital was full of some hard-hitting conversations! Tracy (Jane Elliot) found out she inherited Monica’s house — but her behavior towards Ronnie (Erika Slezak) prompted the rest of the Quartermaines to move out! Meanwhile, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) butted heads with Drew (Cameron Mathison), Portia (Brook Kerr) laid down the law with Jordan (Tanisha Harper), Curtis (Donnell Turner) sought advice from Marshall (Robert Gossett), Martin (Michael E. Knight) confessed his crime to Laura (Genie Francis), Sidwell (Carlo Rota) leveled a warning to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), and Emma (Braedyn Bruener) had a heart-to-heart with Gio (Giovanni Mazza) about his future. Here’s how it all went down!

A Hill To Die On

Jason showed up at the Quartermaine mansion just as Michael read Monica’s authentic will, which left Michael his grandmother’s assets but bequeathed the house to Tracy. Getting emotional, Tracy couldn’t believe that she’d been given the house. Ronnie again apologized for her part in the scam and said she was grateful that Monica left her the locket. Reviewing the will to see if Ronnie inherited anything else, Ned read that funds were left for Ronnie to purchase a house back home in North Carolina. Breaking down in tears because the neighborhood named was her favorite one in Durham, Ronnie thanked her sister aloud for providing her with a home. Taking a closer look at the will, Ned and Michael pieced together that Martin had changed which house Ronnie received and added the jar of Pickle Lila that Tracy inherited.

While talking with Jason, Ronnie admitted that she felt like she let Monica down for letting Martin’s scheme go on as long as she had, but he reassured her that everyone made mistakes — even Monica — and it showed character that she came clean. After Jason left, Brook Lynn and Chase went into the foyer to speak privately with Tracy, and she agreed not to press charges against Ronnie for Monica’s sake. Ronnie then entered the foyer to give Tracy the house keys. “Thank you. Now I can lock the doors when I throw you out,” she snarked, demanding that Ronnie leave immediately. Ned, Olivia, Chase, Brook Lynn, and Michael thought Tracy was being too harsh when she wouldn’t even let Ronnie spend the night. The family tried to reason with her, since Monica’s sister had protected the family in the end by ripping up the contract, but a spiteful Tracy stood her ground. When the others threatened to move out if she didn’t relent on letting Ronnie stay at least one more night, Tracy kicked them all out. In the end, Tracy was left alone in the house that Monica gave to her.

Backup Plan

Drew interrupted Alexis and Sonny’s meeting at Miller & Davis, and the men butted heads about Michael. When Sonny snarked that Drew should have made an appointment, the congressman declared in a patronizing tone that he wanted to speak with Alexis about Scout but could leave if it wasn’t a good time. Alexis then told Sonny that their business was done but promised to have Diane follow up on their earlier conversation (about Portia). As Sonny left, Alexis quickly picked up the page on her legal pad where she’d written “Portia alibi?” before Drew could see it. Then, Drew informed Alexis that he was no longer letting Scout go trick-or-treating with the Davis girls; because Scout was having a bad day, he was instead taking Scout with him to his fundraiser in D.C. Noting that it was the anniversary of Sam’s death, Alexis tried to bargain with Drew, inviting him over to her house so they could all grieve and share memories of Sam together.

Asking who else was going to be there, Drew blew up when Alexis shared that she wanted to invite Danny, since Sam was his mother, too. Predicting that Danny would cause a scene and further upset Scout, Drew leveled a threat. “I swear, if you let Danny around Scout, you will never see her again,” he warned. Relenting, Alexis agreed to exclude Danny, and Drew agreed to uphold their original plan for Scout to stay with Alexis for the night. He also warned Alexis that when he returned from D.C., he wanted an update on her strategy to make Michael look guilty. “As soon as Willow is acquitted, I will make sure Michael is arrested,” he proclaimed. After Drew left, Alexis picked up her legal pad and flipped back to the page where she’d written Portia’s name.

Never Gonna Get It

Portia showed up unannounced at Jordan’s, and the women sparred over Curtis and Jordan’s relationship. Portia declared that Jordan had no right to reveal her pregnancy to Curtis, but Jordan maintained that all she’d done was tell him the truth — something Portia was incapable of doing. Jordan rolled her eyes when Portia called her a liar, claiming that she’d seen the pregnancy as an opening to get closer to Curtis. As they continued to argue, Portia hissed that Jordan could have Curtis but would never get her child. Jordan spat back that if she and Curtis got together in the future, that would be between them, and Portia wouldn’t have a say, but Portia remained firm that her rival would not be a part of the child’s life. “And if it comes down to you or the baby, we both know who Curtis will choose,” she taunted before exiting.

Curtis flew Marshall back to Port Charles on the corporate jet and, at the Aurora office, told his father in person that Portia was pregnant, clarifying that their marriage was still over. He also confided that Jordan was the one who told him in the first place, and he’d been leaning on her a lot recently. “Leaning on her or toward her?” Marshall questioned. Curtis insisted that he and Jordan hadn’t crossed any lines, but that didn’t ease Portia’s jealousy. Marshall wondered if Curtis and Portia’s divorce would be amicable, but his son didn’t think that would be possible since Jordan was the woman he wanted to be with. Marshall warned his son that reuniting with Jordan was going to hurt Portia, and the last thing he’d want is to battle Portia in family court for the next 18 years. Curtis acknowledged that even if Jordan wasn’t in the picture, he and Portia agreed that their marriage was over, but since they needed spousal protection until Drew’s investigation was over, they weren’t yet filing for divorce. Curtis wasn’t happy when his dad then pointed out that he had two very good reasons to keep his distance from Jordan until the divorce was finalized.

Warning Label

Administering herself a shot in an exam room, Britt was nearly caught when Rocco opened the door. Not realizing who it was, she barked at the teen, who ran out. Britt felt bad and chased after him. In the hallway by the emergency department door, she gently chastised Rocco for barging through a closed door at the hospital and asked why he’d been looking for her. Flashing back to his directive from Emma to retrieve the key fob, Rocco asked Britt if she wanted to get coffee. Because she was at work, Britt had to turn him down, and Rocco then revealed that he had told his parents about their dinner after the fact, and they weren’t happy. To that, Britt suggested that he should have just called her, so he didn’t anger his mom further by having coffee. Growing increasingly anxious during their brief conversation, Rocco mumbled that he’d see Britt later, then collided with Sidwell as he made a hasty exit out of the emergency department.

Britt and Sidwell went to a stairwell to speak privately, and she informed him that she felt Professor Dalton was a snake who had immediately suggested they cut Sidwell out, take the work somewhere else, and split the profits. With a chuckle, Sidwell instructed Britt to accept Dalton’s offer. When she refused to be his spy, Sidwell threatened to withhold her Huntington’s medication, tauntingly wondering how long it would take her to deteriorate without Faison’s experimental drug. Backed into a corner, Britt reluctantly agreed to go back to Dalton and find out if he already had an interested buyer.

Rattled after her conversation with Sidwell, Britt returned to the desk to find Jason waiting for her. As he handed her the insurance card for her car, Britt fumbled the paper, and Jason noticed her hand shaking badly. He worried that her symptoms were coming back, but Britt only revealed that she’d had an emotional exchange with Rocco earlier. Reassuring her that Rocco won’t be scared off easily because he wants to get to know her, Jason added that Britt could be somebody good for the teen to have in his life. Calling the idea ridiculous, a sad but agitated Britt told Jason it was Halloween — not April Fool’s Day — and walked off.

It’s All Relative

While waiting at Lulu’s house for Rocco to return home, Gio confided to Emma that he wasn’t mad at the Quartermaines anymore and that Lois had made him realize that Brook Lynn did what she thought was best at the time of his birth. When Emma questioned why he was still keeping the Qs at arm’s length if he was feeling better about his family ties, Gio revealed that he wasn’t sure if he wanted to get tangled up in a family with a reputation for lying and backstabbing. Emma suggested that the risk of getting to know them might be worth it, and also gave Gio food for thought about returning to his music. Later, Rocco came home empty-handed and explained to his pals how he’d awkwardly fumbled the conversation with Britt. Despite having zero luck in retrieving the key fob, Rocco was determined to try getting close to Britt again so they could save the animals in Dalton’s lab.

Crime & Punishment

At Laura’s office, Martin told his sister how he’d forged Monica’s will as a revenge scheme against Tracy, who had bankrupted him by having his ex-wives rally together and had him sent to jail. Martin explained that he got a copy of Monica’s will online from a former colleague, who happened to be the attorney handling Monica’s estate. Figuring it was payback with a little karma on top, Martin recruited Monica’s long-lost sister to help him tip the scales towards justice and teach Tracy a lesson. “Monica wanted Ronnie to have a house. I just made sure it was that one,” he reasoned. Disappointed in her brother, especially after hearing that he’d blackmailed Ronnie into selling the house to Drew, Laura wanted to know if the Quartermaines were pressing charges. Martin then explained that Ned said the family won’t press charges if the mayor personally asks them not to. Laura thought that was incredibly lenient, but Martin disagreed, claiming Ned was “diabolical” for making him look his sister in the face and confess what he’d done. Although Laura agreed to call the Quartermaines, she told Martin that she couldn’t just brush it off, and he was no longer welcome to live with her and Kevin.

When Sonny arrived, a disgusted Martin blasted Laura for jumping all over him for his illegal activities but not being able to cut ties with the mobster. Laura reassured Martin that she wasn’t cutting ties with him, but he couldn’t live in her house any longer. And Sonny didn’t live in her house. Martin scoffed that that might be the case, but Corinthos conducts his business all over her city, calling Laura “Mayor Collins” to emphasize his point. Agreeing to be out by Sunday, Martin exited, leaving Sonny and Laura to speak. Sonny filled her in on his confrontation with Sidwell at the Metro Court, feeling like he’d been put on notice. Laura revealed that she’d felt the same way after her own recent conversation with Sidwell and was terrified of what the man might do to gain control of Sonny’s piers. Sonny offered to take care of it for her, but Laura maintained that she couldn’t let Sonny solve her problems and she’d deal with Sidwell in her own way.
