General Hospital Recap: Sonny Comes Clean to Jason as Drew Joins Forces with Justine

Comments

There was a wheeling and dealing aplenty on General Hospital on Tuesday, October 20! Sonny (Maurice Benard) came clean with Jason (Steve Burton) about why he didn’t want to retaliate against Justine (Nazneen Contractor) as she made a deal with the devil — aka Drew (Cameron Mathison) — in her quest to take Sonny down; Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) received some disappointing news; Portia (Brook Kerr) bartered with Monet (Blythe Howard); and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud) negotiated an extension on a steamy night with the new guy in town (Wil Traval). Here’s how it all went down.

Strangers In The Night

A drunk Britt and her mystery man (aka Jude) went to his suite at the Metro Court and had sex without exchanging names. Afterwards, when he said he could get used to spending more time with her, Britt was ready to bolt because they’d agreed to just a one-night stand. Quipping that he wouldn’t fall in love with her, Jude convinced Britt not to leave so soon, and they went for a second round.

Jason met with Sonny and told him that Vito, who carried out the Pentonville attack, was still MIA. Sonny noted the irony of acting D.A. Turner going after him for a crime he was innocent of, for once, and voiced his fear that she’d find a loose end in an old cold case that could be traced back to them.

Jason suggested Brick dig up dirt they could use to get Turner to back off, but Sonny instructed Jason to leave Justine alone and revealed that he’d been in a secret relationship with her. Sonny explained that part of the reason he went legit was so he could go public with Justine, but after Curtis and Sidwell’s attack, she’d felt like he’d been using her all along.

Sonny apologized for whatever would come Jason’s way, especially since he was asking his friend not to defend himself. But Jason accepted that he might need to one day pay for his past transgressions and agreed to handle things however Sonny felt best. When he asked how Sonny thought it would end, Sonny replied that he wanted Justine to know that he’d never betray her and what they had was real — even if they never had it again.

Enemy of My Enemy

In her office, Justine told Drew that she was investigating unsolved cases related to Sonny. She offered Drew immunity if he gave her information about any illegal activities he saw while working for Sonny. Making it clear he never participated in any illegal activity, Drew wondered if Justine was trying to entrap him further.

Justine declared that while she was grateful Sonny had saved her life with Sidwell, she was determined to make him pay for his crimes. Drew questioned if Justine was committed to seeing it through, noting that others before her had flinched when they went head-to-head with Sonny.

Justine flashed back to one of her and Sonny’s trysts above Charlie’s when they agreed to keep their relationship a secret. Resolute, Justine insisted she wouldn’t give up until Sonny was behind bars. “Well, that is music to my ears,” Drew smirked, promising to be in touch.

Buyer Beware

At Miller & Davis, Monet told Alexis she was Jordan’s half sister and that she’d approached Curtis to appeal his case. As Monet explained her plan to bolster the public’s opinion of Curtis with the support of prominent citizens, Alexis warned her not to count on Drew as a character witness. Then, Alexis got an email she’d been waiting for, groaning that the news was not in favor of her client.

House Hunters

Off of her conversation with Lucas, Carly went to Valentin’s rental house and confessed how much he meant to her. He told her about his meeting with Josslyn, acknowledging the emotional risk Carly took by getting involved with him after Sonny’s repeated betrayals. He promised he’d never take her for granted.

Just as they were about to make love, Alexis showed up to inform Valentin that someone had outbid him and purchased Spoon Island, though she wasn’t told who. While Carly was thrilled Valentin wasn’t moving back to creepy Wyndemere and offered to go house-hunting with him, he was determined to reclaim his former home.

Appealing Behavior

Isaiah gave Portia the rundown of the G.H. mixer and told her about a potential surgical opportunity with Tristan. They acknowledged how grateful they were that the dark days when Isaiah didn’t know if he could operate again were behind them. Their romantic evening was interrupted when Monet rang the bell. She introduced herself as Curtis’s attorney and asked for their help in her strategy to appeal his conviction.

Portia was unsure about Monet’s request that she give an interview on Curtis’s behalf as Desmond’s mother, and was even more wary after the attorney revealed she was Jordan’s half sister.

Isaiah questioned how Monet could be impartial, and Monet commented that Jordan had a way of taking what she wanted — like how she inserted herself into Portia’s marriage — and her goal was to minimize the damage her sister had done to Portia’s family. Portia ultimately agreed to cooperate on the condition that Curtis didn’t give her any more pushback about dating Isaiah.

Once Monet left, Portia pointed out that Curtis would owe them if they helped Monet get him released, but Isaiah made it clear he didn’t trust Monet.

Monet called Alexis to check in before calling it a night and professed that she’d gotten exactly what she wanted.
