The Young and the Restless: Adam Delivers Sally’s Baby!
After tying the knot with Billy (Jason Thompson), Sally (Courtney Hope) went into labor up in her hotel room on The Young and the Restless. While her husband was busy downstairs getting upsetting news about Jill (Jess Walton), Adam (Mark Grossman) was with Sally to help his ex welcome the newest member of the family. Here’s how that drama played out in the Tuesday, October 20 episode of Y&R!
Sally’s Labor Comes On Strong
After Sally’s water broke, she paced around the room, her contractions coming fast. “I don’t think I have time to get to the hospital!” she wailed. Adam tried calling Billy, but he wouldn’t pick up. Sally suggested using her phone so Billy would answer, then remembered that Audra (Zuleka Silver) had taken it before the ceremony to avoid distractions.

Desperately, Adam tried the hotel phone, but there was no dial tone. As a last-ditch effort, he stuck his head out the door and shouted for help down the hall, hoping someone would hear. Sally screamed out in pain, and he rushed back to her side as she breathlessly insisted: “The baby’s coming!”
Jill’s Health Crisis Delays Billy
Downstairs, Billy and Cane (Billy Flynn) reeled on their call with Snapper, who broke the news that Jill had suffered a heart attack and might not survive surgery. Billy saw that Adam was calling him but ignored it. After they hung up, Billy angrily declined another call from Adam. Cane wanted Billy to come with him to London to be with Jill in case they needed to say good-bye, but Billy wasn’t sure what to do.

Confident that Sally would give him the right advice, Billy went in search of his bride. On his way, he ran into Jack (Peter Bergman) and updated his brother on Jill’s condition. Audra told Billy that Sally went upstairs and tried to stop him from bothering her, but he insisted and took off. Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) intercepted him by the stairs to ask if he’d seen Adam, and Billy reported that he’d been ignoring his calls.
Sally and Billy Welcome Their Child
Up in Sally’s suite, Adam’s phone died. He wanted to go for help, but she begged him not to leave her, crying, “Please don’t make me do this alone!” She informed him that he was going to have to deliver this baby. Adam reminded her that he’d already done this twice before, and she assured him that this situation wasn’t the same as when their daughter, Ava, died during childbirth, and there was nothing to be scared of.
During the delivery, Adam tried to lighten the mood by joking that the last two boys he delivered weren’t named after him. Sally had been sure her baby was going to be a boy, but after the delivery was over, Adam introduced her to her “beautiful, perfect baby girl.” He placed the infant into her mother’s welcoming arms.
Cradling her child, Sally urged Adam to go find Billy, assuring him that they would be fine for a little bit. But Adam didn’t have to leave, as Billy was already there, knocking on the door. Taking in the sight, Billy rushed to his wife’s side. Through tears of joy, Sally introduced Billy to his daughter.
