General Hospital Recap: Sonny and Justine Are Caught Kissing as Anna and Britt Make Peace
On General Hospital on Tuesday, September 22, a secret couple was exposed and a pair of enemies called a ceasefire. Anna (Finola Hughes) apologized to Britt (Kelly Thiebaud), Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) was horrified by Charlotte’s (Bluesy Burke) latest stunt while Carly (Laura Wright) and Molly (Kristen Vaganos) attempted to do damage control with Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarski), Jordan (Tanisha Harper) got an eyeful of Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Justine’s (Nazneen Contractor) kiss, Tracy (Jane Elliot) proved she was part of Jason’s (Steve Burton) village when it came to parenting Danny (Asher Antonyzyn), and more. Risky Business
Carly gave Valentin and Charlotte privacy to speak in her office. Valentin was horrified to learn what his daughter had planned to do to get Drew to back off Danny. Charlotte’s confidence that she was never in any danger further infuriated her father. “Dammit, why can’t you admit you put your life at risk?” Valentin bellowed.
Listing all the other times his daughter had put herself in danger, Valentin declared he was ending the risky behavior and forbade Charlotte from any further contact with Danny. Despite Charlotte yelling that Danny had tried to stop her, Valentin held firm. When she huffed that she’d see Danny at school anyway, Valentin ominously stated, “Not anymore.”
Secret Lovers
Justine and Sonny kept things professional when they ran into each other at the Brown Dog Bar while out with their respective friends. Justine explained to Jordan why the D.A.’s office wasn’t seeking heavier charges against Brook Lynn. As the former police commissioner, Jordan understood and felt the best thing for everyone involved was to let it go and move forward.
Jordan offered her endorsement in Justine’s run for Port Charles district attorney, even promising to attend a kick-off campaign rally despite her hesitancy to be out in public. She also told Justine the campaign would have her competitors looking for skeletons to dig up. Glancing over to Sonny, Justine insisted that they wouldn’t find anything.
Sonny and Jason were at a table by the door when Britt entered, but she quickly left after locking eyes with Jason. Sonny picked up on the tension between them, so Jason shared why he and Britt were no longer together. Slyly looking to Justine, Sonny recommended that Jason stay open to all possibilities when it came to another relationship because there were many surprises in life.
Later, Sonny followed Justine out into the parking lot, and they reminisced about their first kiss in the same spot. Believing that they were alone, the pair shared a passionate kiss —which Jordan witnessed.
Damaged Goods
After leaving the Brown Dog, Britt went to Aurora Wellness and had a tense run-in with Anna, Emma, and Felicia. Emma was offended by the snide jokes Britt made about Anna having tried to kill her, leading to another altercation between the two women. Anna interceded and, after Felicia took Emma aside, apologized to Britt for what she’d done at Mount Emerson. Anna said she’d always regret what she did and offered to make amends if Britt would let her.
Appreciative of the apology, Britt said she understood Anna had not been in her right mind and even apologized for not coming back to rescue her from Wyndemere. Anna replied that she understood Britt had believed she was dying and mused that Faison had caused just as much damage to his daughter as he had to her.
Damage Control
At the Surf Lodge, Rocco suggested to Scout that they stop sneaking around and ask Drew for permission to hang out. Scout doubted her father would listen, between the issues Drew had with Rocco’s grandfather and how she’d let him believe she’d been with Danny at Sonny’s house on Labor Day. Rocco agreed to follow Scout’s lead, and they shared a sweet kiss before he received a text from his parents, summoning him to the dinner he was very late for.
As Lulu and Dante waited for Rocco to join them at the Metro Court Gardens, Dante filled her in on his yoga session. Lulu was surprised that he’d worked out with Elizabeth after years of her asking him to do yoga herself. When Carly entered the restaurant, Lulu called her over to tell her how much Charlotte was looking forward to going to the opera with her and Valentin. But Carly’s response was short, as she was distracted by what was happening up in her office between Valentin and Charlotte.
Carly crossed to the other side of the Gardens to where Molly was waiting for her. In an attempt at damage control, Carly told Molly about Charlotte and asked her to persuade Scout not to mention the incident to Drew. Molly agreed that it would make things worse for everyone if Drew found out, especially Danny.
Back at Lulu and Dante’s table, Lulu expressed her frustration over the time Charlotte had been spending with Carly lately, and her concern that Valentin’s lax parenting would inspire Charlotte to do something she couldn’t get out of. Once Rocco finally showed up, Lulu asked if he’d seen his sister that day, but Rocco lied and said that he hadn’t.
Molly tracked down Scout at the café and said it might be better for all involved if Drew didn’t know what Charlotte had tried to do. Scout agreed, and when she muttered that there were a lot of things her dad was better off not knowing, Molly reminded her niece that she was there to listen whenever Scout needed to talk.
Crime & Punishment
Without complaint, Danny accepted all the extra chores Tracy heaped on him for trying to “borrow” her classic Shelby Mustang. Tracy told Danny that part of why she was so hard on him was that she saw his potential and didn’t want to watch him squander his gifts. She advised Danny to stop trying to push his father’s limits and challenged him to confess to Jason that he’d tried to steal another car.
Once his dad arrived, Danny apologized for breaking his promise not to take any more Quartermaine vehicles, and Jason was satisfied with the punishment Tracy had doled out. After Danny returned to mucking the stalls, Jason lamented that he hadn’t managed to get through to his son, but Tracy assured him that his family would always back him up when it came to parenting Danny.
