General Hospital Recap: Nina Betrays Willow, Carly Confronts Jack, Jordan Guesses the Truth, and More

Comments

Things spiraled out of control in the October 20 episode of General Hospital! Carly (Laura Wright) gave Jack (Chris McKenna) a chance to come clean that he didn’t take, Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) arraignments took an unexpected turn, Dante’s (Dominic Zamprogna) confrontation with Michael (Rory Gibson) got ugly, Jordan (Tanisha Harper) figured out what Portia (Brook Kerr) was hiding, and Ronnie (Erika Slezak) ended up drinking something other than tea at Brook Lynn’s (Amanda Setton) party! Read on for all the details.

Secrets and Lies

Carly poured wine for herself and Jack, then tersely made small talk about his work, expressing surprise that he’d brought Charlotte to see Valentin and coldly saying that she hoped he got what he wanted out of the prisoner. Jack didn’t see the flowers he’d given her, and she said she had to throw them out, lying that she accidentally broke the vase. “I was trying to salvage what was left,” she told him, “but it just seemed… best to throw them out.”

Jack was relieved, fearing she was still mad at him about Josslyn and Agent Vaughn. Carly admitted she was still upset and wasn’t sure if she could be with someone who was required to keep things from her. Jack wondered if she was breaking up with him and insisted he would do anything for her. “Then how could you do it?” she cried. “How could you keep me in the dark about my daughter?” He reminded her that they’d agreed that he couldn’t tell her everything, and she lashed out, reminding him that this involved her daughter, who got pulled into his world, and he said nothing about it.

Jack assured her Josslyn was never in any danger, and Carly seethed that it was still a betrayal. He worried he’d lost her, so Carly asked him to promise her one thing: that if Josslyn ever was at risk, he would tell her. She then pulled him in for a kiss, and he invited her to dinner, but she declined for a girls’ night with Donna. He again made sure they were okay, and Carly promised they were. After he left, Carly exhaled deeply and later called Spinelli to ask him to privately (meaning don’t even tell Jason!) create a new identity for her — one that would hold up under a serious background check.

Courtroom Drama

Before Nina and Willow’s arraignment, Martin wanted to talk strategy with Marco, but he excused himself when he saw Molly in the hallway. In the courtroom, Martin and Willow were confused when the judge started her case, as they thought she and Nina were being tried together. Willow pleaded not guilty, and Molly requested that bail be denied due to Willow’s history of erratic behavior. Martin argued that Willow has ties to the community, particularly her children, noting that even the victim was here in support of the alleged shooter. But the judge declared Willow a flight risk and denied bail. Drew was upset and insisted that Martin do something. Martin once again reminded Willow that she needed a criminal lawyer — and a good one.

Nina was up next, and Molly stood to inform the judge that they were amending her charge to making a false statement. Nina pleaded guilty and was sentenced to a year’s probation and a $10,000 fine. Willow freaked out that Nina was betraying her, and Drew shouted, “Nina, you bitch! How could you do this to your own daughter?” The judge called the court to order, and Nina was upset to be forced to recant her statement in front of the whole room. The judge told Nina she was free to go, and ordered Willow to be transferred to Pentonville. Willow angrily lashed out at Nina for forcing her to lie and putting her in this situation. As Willow was taken away, Drew promised to help her and glared at Nina.

On the Defense

At the Quartermaines, when Dante asked if he planted the gun to frame Willow, Michael dragged him out to the patio away from everyone else. Dante broke down the timeline of how Michael had motive and opportunity to do it, but Michael insisted he didn’t plant the weapon and just went to Elizabeth’s house because he wanted to talk to Willow about family therapy. He also noted that if Dante thought he planted the gun, then he also thought he shot Drew. Dante pointed out that between him and Willow, Michael had the stronger motive. The detective wanted Michael to understand that he was the one with the history of violence and urged his brother to turn himself in, but Michael reminded him that the last time he took that advice (after Michael killed Claudia Zacchara), he was sentenced as an adult and sent to Pentonville.

Dante expressed his regret for his role in that nightmare. He then noted that since Michael had returned from Germany, he seemed colder and angrier… and capable of shooting his uncle. Michael reminded Dante of all the things Willow had done, including targeting Daisy to torture Sasha, but Dante argued he had no proof of that. Michael angrily shouted about having to send his newborn daughter to another country for her own protection, and when Dante suggested he bring her back, he agreed there was no proof Willow was responsible, but insisted she’d proven herself an unfit mother anyway. Dante defended Willow and pointed out how good she was with Wiley, but Michael said he regretted letting her adopt the boy. Dante shook his head and declared this whole thing was a shame. Michael noted Willow had changed as well, and had been on a downward spiral for a while now, declaring: “And if you don’t think the woman she is now is capable of putting a bullet in Drew’s back, then you are grossly underestimating her.”

Returning to the kitchen, Dante understood that his brother would do anything for his kids, and Michael said that yes, he would kill for his children — they both would. “Dante, if I had shot Drew, he’d be dead,” Michael declared as Lucy and Lulu got an earful from the doorway. “And you know what? I wish I had framed Willow. I really do. Because I would make damn sure  that she was found guilty, that way my children would never have to see her again.”

Tea Service

At the Quartermaine tea party, Olivia introduced Ronnie to Lucy, who tried to give her a business card in case she wanted to sell the mansion. Tracy watched, glaring, and hoped the gathering would make Ronnie realize she didn’t belong here. Olivia tried to stop Lucy’s blathering by introducing Ronnie to Felicia, and Tracy cracked up when Ronnie curtsied upon being told Felicia was once an Aztec Princess.

Portia, who was running late because of morning sickness, caught up with Liz outside the Quartermaines.  She updated Liz that she hadn’t told Curtis she was pregnant yet, and wouldn’t until she knew for sure he was the father. They let themselves in, and Stella welcomed them. Tracy promised Stella she wasn’t going to make trouble, but Stella saw Portia and Jordan talking to Ronnie and noted that those two together could be drama. Meanwhile, Brook Lynn interrupted Jordan and Portia’s sniping and offered to get the doctor some herbal tea. Later, Tracy was annoyed to see Stella happily chatting with Ronnie. The women gossiped about Drew’s shooting, and Tracy declared she had no trouble believing Willow could be guilty. Liz didn’t think this was an appropriate conversation, and Jordan noticed Portia declining a sandwich. She later spied Portia reluctantly accepting some finger food, taking a bite, and slipping off. Confronting her in the front hall, Jordan noted Portia’s nausea and bluntly asked, “You’re pregnant, aren’t you?”

After learning about the tea party from Lulu and expressing his glee at Tracy losing her mind over Ronnie the interloper, Martin hightailed it to the mansion, pretending to be returning Lulu’s phone. Stella interrupted Lulu explaining she hadn’t lost her phone to invite them in to meet Ronnie. Martin awkwardly greeted Ms. Bard and apologized for crashing the party. Later, the attorney later said his goodbyes and Stella escorted him out as Ronnie looked uncomfortable and walked back over to the teacup she had previously set down to take a sip.

Soon, Ronnie began acting tipsy, and Olivia suggested she go upstairs and rest. But Ronnie said the party was just getting started, and Tracy was appalled when she relaxed on the couch, kicked off her shoes, and put her feet up on the coffee table. Tracy accused her of being drunk, and Ronnie insisted she was just relaxed. Rising to her feet, she got right up in Tracy’s face to declare, “You are uptight, frigid, and completely undersexed. You should go out and find yourself some debauched degenerate guy who will take care of that for you.” Everyone looked on, stunned as Ronnie collapsed back onto the couch, laughing.
