General Hospital Recap: Lucas is Shot and Obrecht Learns The Truth About ‘Nathan’

Comments

Family drama was at the forefront of the Tuesday, June 9, episode of General Hospital as tensions boiled over and someone was shot! Lucas (Van Hansis) was plugged with three bullets courtesy of Sidwell (Carlo Rota); Cassius (Ryan Paevey) came clean about his identity to Obrecht (Kathleen Gati); Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Lucy (Lynn Herring) came up with a plan to discredit Willow (Katelyn MacMullen), who realized Jack (Chris McKenna) wasn’t as incapacitated as she’d thought; Gio (Giovanni Mazza) opened up to Emma (Braedyn Bruener) about his mother’s adoption plans; Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) worried that Trina (Tabyana Ali) was sacrificing her own future to keep her parents happy; and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) and Portia (Brook Kerr) had to prevent Curtis (Donnell Turner) and Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) from getting into another fistfight. Here’s everything that happened.

Shot Through The Heart

Sidwell met Lucas at the construction site of the Marco Rios Tennis Center and confronted him about stealing the incriminating photos of Sonny and Laura from the Wyndemere safe. Lucas blasted Sidwell for making Marco an accomplice in his criminal activities and spat that Marco hadn’t agreed with what his father was doing and wanted out, which is why he’d volunteered to help Sonny and Laura.

Jenz then pulled a gun on Lucas and accused him of killing Marco and framing Pascal to cover it up. Lucas countered by blaming Jenz for his own son’s death, shouting that Sidwell only accepted Marco as long as he’d done what his father wanted. When Lucas spat that Marco would have wanted nothing to do with his father had he lived, an emotional Sidwell shot Lucas three times in the chest!

Twin Twist

In the captive room at Wyndemere, Cassius revealed his true identity to his mother. Obrecht was stunned that Nathan’s twin hadn’t been stillborn, as she’d been told by her sister, Madeline. Cassius explained that Madeline had instead delivered him to Faison in exchange for leaving Liesl alone; Madeline never told Faison that Cassius was a twin, nor had she told Liesl that the other baby had survived. Cassius explained that Nathan had truly died when their father shot him and he’d been impersonating his brother since he’d arrived in Port Charles. Not only that, but he’d been involved in Britt faking her death.

Obrecht was furious and lashed out, slapping Cassius. But as she railed against her long-lost son, Josslyn defended Cassius, crediting him with saving both her life and Britt’s. Cassius confirmed that he’d been protecting Britt and that the plan was for them both to get out once Sidwell and Cullum’s project was completed — but that all changed after Britt ran off. Obrecht realized that she’d been kidnapped to take Britt’s place and finish the cold fusion device, and Cassius warned his mother that Sidwell and Cullum would kill her if she didn’t. When Cassius vowed that he’d die before he let anything happen to her, a tearful Liesl accepted him, crying, “Then I will do what needs to be done. Because I have no intention of letting you die, my son!”

Fake It ‘Till You Make It

Brook Lynn ran into Willow at Bobbie’s and apologized for accusing her of going after Chase, blaming the stress of the adoption for her overreaction. Accepting the apology, Willow insisted she only wanted to help Brook Lynn and Chase, which is why she’d offered him a job. Brook Lynn pretended to be grateful, and Lucy arrived just in time to see the women hugging.

Once they were alone, Lucy realized that Brook Lynn had faked the apology to make Willow think everything was fine between them. The women brainstormed ways to get Chase to see Willow’s true colors, and Lucy landed on the idea of framing Willow as the driver on Rt. 91 who left Jordan and Curtis on the side of the road. Secretly knowing that would solve her own problem (of potentially being held accountable as the actual other driver), Brook Lynn nodded that if Willow didn’t have an alibi, framing her for the accident was the perfect solution.

The Waiting Game

Jack told Nina that since Valentin and Carly refused to go to the WSB or the police, he wanted her to turn them in to the authorities. Confident that Valentin would come around and do the right thing, Nina encouraged Jack to give Valentin more time, but he argued that Josslyn was running out of time with Sidwell and Cullum. Then, when Nina suggested that exposing Valentin and Carly would complicate things for Jack since he had few allies with Cullum after him, Jack called her out for wanting protection for what she and Willow had done to Drew. Eventually, Jack agreed to wait, and Nina headed out. Later, Willow arrived at Turning Woods to give Jack his next dose. She was shocked when he reached up and grabbed her hand, begging her not to inject him.

Daddy Issues

Jordan had a successful check-up at G.H. but told Curtis that she wasn’t sure if she was ready to attend the baby shower and face their friends and family. He encouraged her to make the decision she felt most comfortable with. Meanwhile, Kai helped Trina set up the baby shower she and Stella were hosting for Portia at the Metro Court Gardens. Before Kai left, Isaiah told him and Trina that the Quartermaines had paid for all of Derek’s medical expenses, but it was too soon to tell if the boy’s transplant was successful.

Stella told Tracy that she wasn’t happy Portia had brought Isaiah, but she accepted that the doctor was part of Portia’s life and hoped that the party was the chance for the men to make things right. After Curtis and Jordan arrived, he commented to Portia that the restaurant was an interesting choice of venue, and while he wouldn’t instigate anything, he wouldn’t back down from a fight, either.

Nina popped in to deliver a gift and attempted to evade Elizabeth and Felicia’s questions about Drew’s recovery. After Nina left, Elizabeth mused to Felicia that it was odd that both Drew and Jack had massive strokes in the Cain home and wondered if there was an environmental factor that had caused them.

Isaiah tried to speak with Jordan, but she quickly made an excuse to step away. Hurt, Isaiah questioned if Jordan actually believed Curtis’s accusations when Curtis appeared to escort her away. As the shower went on, tensions between the two men grew. When the party was wrapping up, Curtis confronted Isaiah, declaring that Isaiah would never be a father to the baby. Isaiah countered that the baby was going to need a non-violent male presence in its life, and Curtis threatened to punch him again. Portia and Jordan intervened, with Portia angrily telling Curtis that the more he lost his temper, the more she realized she’d done Trina a favor by not letting him raise her.

Remembrances of Things

While hanging out at the boathouse, Emma asked Gio how he felt about Brook Lynn and Chase adopting Phoebe. Gio noted that while he has memories of his adoptive mother, Phoebe will never know her biological mother. And he was sure Brook Lynn and Chase would keep Delilah’s memory alive for his little sister. Later, Kai met up with Emma and Gio and shared that he was worried Trina was so involved in her family’s drama that she wouldn’t be able to get herself out of it.
