General Hospital Recap: Drew Threatens Alexis, Ava Beds Ethan, Michael And Willow Face Off

Comments

The Wednesday, July 29, episode of General Hospital saw Ava (Maura West) and Ethan (Christian Howard) move from enemies to lovers, Drew (Cameron Mathison) threaten Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) stand up for Scout (Kayden Brenna Tokarski), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) make a demand of Michael (Rory Gibson), Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) jump to conclusions, and Jack (Chris McKenna) make a move on Nina (Cynthia Watros). Here’s how it all went down.

The Morning After

Over at the Metro Court hotel, Ava woke up in bed with Ethan. Suspicious of his motives for sleeping with her, Ava wondered if he was trying to make sure she kept quiet about Phoebe. Ava was touched when Ethan confided that he actually liked her and agreed to stick around for breakfast.

Mobile Order

At G.H., Elizabeth checked in with Felicia, who was feeling down after Maxie’s family moved to Australia, and offered advice on adjusting to having a child living overseas based on her experience with Jake. They were astonished when Drew walked through the hospital door with Martin to visit his neurologist.

Drew thanked Felicia for everything the staff had done for him, but Felicia raved that Willow was the real hero for all she’d done at home. “Yes. I am very aware of everything that Willow has done,” he replied sardonically. “Now I just have to find the best way to thank her.”

Liz found it odd that Drew had Martin, not Willow, take him to the hospital, prompting the attorney to remark that he hadn’t seen Willow at the house. After the men left, Liz shared her misgivings with Felicia and grew more suspicious after calling Willow and learning that the couple had suddenly decided to divorce. Felicia urged Elizabeth not to meddle in the Cains’ personal lives and let it go.

Parent Trap

Molly wanted to cancel her book launch party because of the Sidwell trial, but Alexis insisted they reschedule it instead. Willow then showed up at Alexis’s house and announced that Drew was no longer locked in, and she wanted Alexis to represent her in their divorce.

Alexis declined, not wanting to alienate Drew since him speaking again meant he could now decide whether Scout saw the Davis family. After a disappointed Willow left, Alexis and Molly agreed that the sudden divorce seemed suspicious and hoped that Drew would be willing to let Scout visit them since Danny had moved back to the Quartermaine estate with Jason.

Unfortunately, that’s when Drew and Martin arrived to inform Alexis that the restraining order had been broken while he was incapacitated. Drew was moving Scout back to his house immediately, and Alexis would never see her granddaughter again. As the two argued, Scout returned home and was shocked to see her father standing upright. She tearfully ran into her father’s arms and Drew vowed to his daughter that they’d never be separated again.

Majority Rule

Jason was welcomed home by Tracy, Ned, Olivia, and Michael. Upon learning that Danny destroyed the speedboat’s hull during his night trip to Egret Island, Jason instructed his son to get his job back at the Metro Court Pool so he could pay for the repair. Gio then updated the family on how he’d rescued Drew, who was no longer locked in, from the lake the night before.

Michael immediately took off to see Willow, and Tracy reinstated Drew’s lifetime ban from the Quartermaine estate. Danny grew uncomfortable when Gio argued that Drew deserved another chance, and Jason agreed with Tracy that Drew should be kept away from the house. When Tracy asked for his opinion, Danny said that for Scout’s sake, they should all try to tolerate Drew, especially since Drew wouldn’t let Scout train there without him present.

When Jason backed up his son, and Ned agreed, Tracy begrudgingly gave in and allowed for Drew to be on the grounds while Scout was there — earning a hug from Danny and a mouthed “thank you” from an appreciative Jason.

Face Off

Willow was trying to find herself a divorce lawyer when Michael stopped by her office. Refusing to allow Wiley and Amelia to be around Drew, Michael announced that he was tearing apart their custody agreement. He was surprised when Willow replied that he’d been right about Drew all along, and she was getting a divorce.

With Drew out of her life, Willow wanted Michael to adjust the terms of their arrangement to a 50/50 split. Trying to assert that he was the one in a power position, Michael huffed that Willow should take her chances in court. Firm in her demand for an even split, Willow laid out the reasons why she was the more competent parent and why Michael would be the one the judge cast doubt upon.

Michael stormed out, but was clearly rattled by the exchange. Meanwhile, Willow picked up a photo of Wiley and Amelia and gleefully stated that she had won and there was nothing their father could do about it.

Toxic Mess

A stressed-out Trina filled in Kai about Gio saving Drew, who’d miraculously recovered, from the Quartermaine lake. The couple assumed Willow pushed Drew into the water and he was holding that over her head as blackmail. Trina realized that with Drew now mobile, she and Kai no longer had to protect him from Willow. Since Alexis was the only person who knew that they knew Willow had shot her husband (unaware that Willow had figured out that Trina and Kai also knew), Trina believed she and Kai were in the clear.

Trina wanted Kai to resign as Willow’s intern, but Kai felt they needed to protect Wiley and Amelia from their toxic parents. Trina proposed they tell Michael what they knew about Willow.

Love Notes

At the WSB office, Nina asked why Jack had been willing to cover for her after she’d pushed Drew into the lake. He said he understood that Nina’s situation had been hopeless, and it was beneficial for the bureau to support Congresswoman Cain. But on a personal level, he was grateful to Nina for saving his life and always repaid a debt. Now that they were even, Jack invited Nina out to dinner, and they shared a passionate kiss.
