General Hospital Recap: Carly and Valentin are Arrested for Jack’s Murder, Jason Remembers Sam
On General Hospital’s Monday, November 2, episode, Halloween ended with Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart)’s arrest for Jack’s (Chris McKenna) murder! Meanwhile, Heather (Alley Mills) denied being Trina’s (Tabyana Ali) stalker, Jason (Steve Burton) and Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) remembered Sam (Kelly Monaco), Josslyn (Eden McCoy) had a tense introduction to Jude (Wil Travail), Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Chase (Josh Swickard) met with Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) to safeguard Phoebe’s adoption, and more. Here’s how it all went down.
Body Language
Carly and Valentin stumbled upon Jack’s body in the nature preserve but decided to leave it there given Danny and Charlotte’s involvement in the matter. Joe caught them as they were exiting and called for backup. As officers dug up the corpse, Joe searched Valentin and found a baggie in his jacket pocket.
After hauling Carly and Valentin to the PCPD, Joe warned Valentin that the department was running tests to see if the residue in the baggie matched the finger found or the corpse. Once Martin arrived at the station, Valentin told his attorney that the corpse was Jack Brennan’s but, to protect Danny and Charlotte, he refused to reveal how he and Carly knew where to find the body.
Later, Joe got a preliminary identification from the CSI unit that the corpse was Jack Brennan. Noting that neither Carly nor Valentin seemed surprised, he placed them under arrest, despite Martin’s proclamation that there was no evidence linking them to the body. Meanwhile, back at the nature preserve, the “C” charm bracelet was found attached to Jack’s sleeve!
Silent Treatment
At the boathouse, Jason and Danny remembered Sam on Halloween, the anniversary of her death. Danny also came clean to his dad about how he and Charlotte found Brennan’s body, adding that Carly and Valentin knew the truth. After Danny mentioned his theory that Brennan was buried in the nature preserve and that Carly and Valentin were there searching, Jason rushed over to the adjacent property.
Later, Jason returned and reported that the nature preserve was crawling with cops. Jason was sure Carly and Valentin hadn’t been the ones to call the police and reiterated to Danny that no one else could know that Danny and Charlotte were involved with Brennan’s death.
Apology Tour
Trina, Kai, Emma, and Gio were stunned when Heather entered the Cat’s Eye Lounge, and a freaked-out Trina accused her of being the stalker. Swearing she wasn’t, Heather claimed she’d rented the lounge so she could talk to Trina.
Heather went on to explain that she’d come into wealth after receiving a hefty settlement from the faulty hip replacement manufacturer and wanted to be closer to Ace and Elizabeth, so she’d purchased Wyndemere and would be staying in Port Charles.
As Heather insisted that she wanted to make amends with Trina, Gio, Kai, and Emma rallied around their friend. Before leaving, Trina threatened to have Heather arrested if she didn’t keep her distance. Once alone in the club, Heather picked up the card next to the flowers.
Chemistry Partner
Elizabeth was called into G.H. for emergency coverage, and Dante arrived in time to witness her compassionate handling of a young patient. Liz spotted him and smiled, then noticed he was limping. Dante explained he’d chased down a kid who’d been throwing eggs, and Liz arranged for him to get checked out by an orthopedist. Though they did not reference their near-kiss at her house earlier in the day, Dante complimented how Liz had handled the patient and kept stealing glances at her as they bantered.
It’s All Relative
Josslyn summoned Hudson to help her dig up information on her cousin, Jude, who was in town and staking a claim to baby Phoebe. They hit a dead end online, but Josslyn recalled her father said he’d once given Jude “a chance” and emailed HR to see if JJE had an employee file on her cousin.
Hudson suggested they go to the Brown Dog to decompress. Britt and Jude had both ended up there, hoping to see the other, and agreed to one more anonymous night together. As they were leaving to go back to his hotel room, they bumped into Josslyn and Hudson, and Jude recognized Joss as his cousin.
Things got heated as Jude and Josslyn spoke for the first time. Hudson stepped in and ordered Jude to back off, but Jude warned Josslyn that he had as much a right to anything Jacks-related as she did.
Josslyn warned Britt not to get involved with her dangerous cousin and Britt spat back that she didn’t need Josslyn’s advice on who to spend time with. But in the end, she decided not to share another night with Jude now that they knew who each other were and left him sitting alone, stewing.
Later, Josslyn told Hudson that based on Jude’s comment, she believed her cousin wasn’t just in town for Phoebe: He wanted the family legacy that belonged to her.
Parent Trapped
Alexis met with Brook Lynn and Chase, who were panicked over Jude’s claim to be Phoebe’s father. She told them that she’d turned down representing Jude, but he was adamant about fighting for his daughter, whom he said was conceived with Delilah via IVF.
Alexis said she would alert the biological father of record (Ethan, whose name she refused to give up) but warned the duo that if he admitted to lying about being Phoebe’s father, then Jude had a legitimate claim to the baby and could prove his paternal rights via a DNA test.
“Then our only job is to make sure he doesn’t get one,” Brook Lynn declared.
