General Hospital Recap: Ava Busts Drew as the WSB Extradites Nina
On General Hospital on Thursday, September 17, Drew (Cameron Mathison) admitted to Ava (Maura West) that he framed Nina (Cynthia Watros), Carly (Laura Wright) and Josslyn (Eden McCoy) came to an understanding, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) apologized to Jordan (Tanisha Harper), Justine (Nazneen Contractor) canceled her trip with Sonny (Maurice Benard), Trina (Tabyana Ali) visited Curtis (Donnell Turner) in prison, and Lucy (Lynn Herring) schemed to play matchmaker for Serena (Kelly Kruger) and Michael (Rory Gibson). Sweet Revenge
Storming into Drew’s house, Ava demanded to know why he’d framed Nina for Jack’s disappearance. At first, he denied having anything to do with Nina’s arrest, but eventually admitted that he’d stashed Brennan’s wallet in Nina’s car.
Drew filled Ava in on everything Willow and Nina had done to him. Ava doubted Nina would go to such lengths, so Drew reminded her that Nina had once paralyzed her, too, to induce labor and kidnap baby Avery. Ava maintained that Nina had changed and was upset that Drew would set her up to take the fall. Drew said it was an insurance policy to make sure their roles in Jack’s death weren’t discovered and they didn’t lose their children. Unsettled, Ava stormed out.
Later, Drew recalled the day Nina pushed his wheelchair into the lake. “Oh, Nina,” he smirked. “I told you I’d get even. And your daughter is next.”
Away She Goes
After spending the night in jail, Nina insisted to Agent Baines she had nothing to do with Jack’s disappearance. Ric arrived to see his client and Baines presented Jack’s wallet, telling Nina and Ric that it was found under the seat of her car.
Baines declared that he had enough evidence to extradite Nina immediately. Nina lost her cool and started mouthing off. Baines instructed Ric to get his client to cooperate before heading into the squad room to tell Dante that Nina would be transferred to a WSB facility.
Alone with Ric, Nina cried that she was being framed but didn’t have an answer when her attorney asked her for names. Baines returned and informed a terrified Nina she was being taken into WSB custody immediately. Ava showed up at the police station just in time to see her hysterical friend get hauled off by WSB agents.
Mother Knows Best
Over breakfast, Carly told Josslyn that she was worried Josslyn might suffer the same fate as Anna. Josslyn replied that she didn’t know what her future with the WSB looked like because she was on leave, but Carly snapped that she knew from Jack that running JJE was Josslyn’s current assignment. Worried that her mom might blow her cover, Josslyn stressed that nobody could know.
As the conversation turned toward Jack’s disappearance, Carly revealed that she’d been questioned by Agent Baines and incriminated Nina. She mused that the WSB must have then found something damning for Baines to arrest Nina. Josslyn warned her mother to back off from the WSB and let her handle things, not wanting the bureau to go after Carly, too.
All Work and No Play
Sonny asked Justine to meet him at the studio so he could question her privately about Nina’s arrest the night before. Justine explained that the WSB had sole discretion in prosecuting Nina, so her hands were tied. She also told him she couldn’t risk her career to go on the trip they’d discussed because Robert Scorpio was stepping down as D.A. and she intended to run for the position. Though disappointed, Sonny understood and kept the vacation invitation open in case Justine changed her mind.
Music to My Ears
Trina went to Pentonville to visit Curtis, and they discussed Brook Lynn’s confession about the crash and how her secret impacted their family. Trina revealed she’d fired Brook Lynn as her manager. Curtis encouraged his daughter not to give up her music career because of what happened to him. Before he was taken back to his cell, Curtis promised that he’d stay focused on making parole so he could return to his family. He also cautioned his daughter not to trust anything the Quartermaine family might offer in the name of damage control.
Playing with Matches
At the Metro Court Gardens, Brook Lynn blasted Lucy for not holding up her end of their deal and asked for her Deception stock back. Lucy refused, insisting it wasn’t her fault that Brook Lynn’s lies came back to bite her. Serena arrived just in time to overhear their arguing and tried to smooth things over in light of the company’s upcoming rebrand. Brook Lynn growled that trying to talk to Lucy had been a waste of time she could have spent apologizing to the people she’d hurt.
After Brook Lynn stormed out, Lucy reminded her daughter that she still wanted complete control of Deception and hoped Serena could get Michael to sign over Maxie’s shares.
Upstairs in the Aurora offices, Michael had just finished complimenting Jordan on how well she’d been doing as CEO when Brook Lynn arrived to speak with Jordan. Stepping out to give them privacy, Michael went down to the restaurant and joined Lucy and Serena. When Serena wanted to pitch new products to Michael, a scheming Lucy suggested that it would be better to discuss over an elegant dinner at Café Cherie.
Sorry State
Brook Lynn apologized to Jordan for not coming forward after the car accident and taking full responsibility for what happened afterwards. While appreciative, Jordan said she was the one who took her eyes off the road that night, and Curtis was responsible for his own actions. Jordan encouraged Brook Lynn to focus on getting her life back on track, adding that if Brook Lynn wanted to make amends to the people she hurt, there might be something she could do for Curtis.
