General Hospital Recap: Anna Melts Down in Front of Valentin, Jason and Carly
On General Hospital on Monday, August 24, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) deduced that the WSB was after her father’s company, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) got blackmail material on Jack (Chris McKenna), Hudson (Troy Lennon Appel) pumped an Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) for information about Phoebe (Lucia and Luna Creighton), Laura (Genie Francis) prepared the mayor’s office for her leave of absence, Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) made a proposition to Jason (Steve Burton), Anna (Finola Hughes) had a public meltdown, and more. Here’s how it all played out.
Eviction Notice
Tracy barged into the gatehouse and ordered Willow to stay away from Chase, threatening to kick her out if she didn’t. Willow smirked that Michael would never let that happen, but Tracy replied that it was ultimately her say — and then Michael could use whatever he was holding over Willow to take the kids away for good.
After the women went a few more rounds, Tracy reminded Willow that Michael held all the cards. Once she left, Willow whispered to herself, “Not for long.”
Sneak Attack
Josslyn was ticked when Jack revealed that her next assignment was to accept the CEO position at Jasper Jacks Enterprises. Explaining that the order came directly from his superiors, Jack theorized that the bureau was targeting the company or had interest in one of its subsidiaries. Josslyn insisted her father wasn’t a criminal and accepted the task, refusing to give in to her parents’ wishes that she’d resign as an agent.
Next, Jack received a phone call that Willow had blown off an important meeting for the WSB Appropriations Committee. Furious, he raced over to the gatehouse to confront Willow about not keeping up her end of their deal. Willow coolly declared she’d return to the committee once Jack dug up incriminating evidence she could use against Michael.
Reminding Willow that he’d used WSB resources to bury the video placing her on Drew’s street the night of the shooting, Jack sneered that she owed him for keeping her out of prison. She promised to attend the next meeting to secure the WSB’s funding, and Jack warned her that she wouldn’t like what happened if she didn’t keep her word.
After Jack left, Willow pulled her phone from her back pocket. She’d secretly recorded Chief Brennan’s admission about abusing WSB resources!
Fishing Trip
Hudson arrived for his meeting with Josslyn at the Quartermaine boathouse early as an excuse to bump into Brook Lynn and Phoebe. As Hudson chatted with Brook Lynn, he casually dug for info about Phoebe’s birth mother.
Tracy tracked Brook Lynn down at the lake and was introduced to Hudson. She then privately filled Brook Lynn in on her face-off with Willow. Brook Lynn thanked her grandmother for speaking to Willow, but was hopeful for the future, beaming that she could handle anything that came her way as long as she had her beautiful family.
Meanwhile, Josslyn finally arrived at the boathouse —and to Hudson’s chagrin, she announced that she’d decided to take the CEO position at JJE after all.
Government Affairs
Laura met with Anna and Justine in her office to inform them she was taking a personal leave to visit Kevin and Ace in Ireland. While Laura was gone, the Deputy Mayor would be taking over, but they’d be working directly with Ezra Boyle. Justine and Anna pushed back, citing Ezra’s sketchy reputation and connections, but Laura pointed out that Ezra had helped them bring Jenz Sidwell to justice in the first place… and everyone deserved a second chance.
Laura’s comment caused Anna to flash back to her captivity, but she quickly covered. The women then met with Ezra, who vowed to work seamlessly with the others. Ezra chuckled that maybe the three of them could finally bring down Sonny Corinthos in the mayor’s absence, but the joke fell flat.
After Anna and Justine left, Laura chastised Ezra for not taking the job more seriously, especially since she wasn’t going to be around to keep an eye on him. Ezra promised that Laura could rely on him, and Laura hoped that the police commissioner and Acting D.A. would come to see Ezra as the nice guy she did.
Staying Power
Lucas and Joe discovered that they both signed a lease on the same Marina Towers apartment, Lucas directly with the leasing office and Joe through realtor Lucy. Joe called Lucy and learned there was an error when she submitted his contract. With the apartment rightfully belonging to Lucas, Joe backed out, but Lucas invited him to stay until he found another place.
Business Insider
Valentin met with Jason and Carly at the pool to pitch the idea of him buying his way back into working at ELQ. Jason wasn’t interested, but Carly convinced him to hear Valentin out. Swearing that he didn’t want to raid the company, Valentin proposed he could bring a fresh outlook as an outsider to revive ELQ.
When Jason pointed out that Valentin would need the Qs to sell him shares and nobody trusted him, Carly piped in that Jason could speak to Ned, Tracy, and Michael on Valentin’s behalf. An earnest Valentin said he was trying to rebuild his life and argued that expanding ELQ’s profits would benefit the entire Quartermaine family. Jason begrudgingly agreed to think about it.
Anna arrived at the pool and joined the group. Carly told her that Jax wanted Josslyn to take over at JJE and asked Anna’s opinion if the WSB was any kind of life for her daughter. The question caused Anna to flash back to her captivity, and she freaked out. Valentin chased after Anna when she abruptly fled from the table.
Valentin caught up to Anna as she was having a panic attack in the elevator and begged her to be honest with him about what was going on. Meanwhile, Carly told Jason she was okay with Valentin going after Anna because it was clear she needed him. But, she shuddered, seeing Anna lately made her terrified about Josslyn’s future.
