General Hospital Exclusive: Eden McCoy Says Anna’s Message Gives Josslyn a ‘Glimmer of Hope’
Things have looked pretty grim for Josslyn on General Hospital since she was taken captive by Cassius (Ryan Paevey) and thrown into a cell in the bowels of Wyndemere. But she stumbled onto a new clue in the May 18 episode when she discovered proof that the inimitable Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was held hostage in the very same location. Josslyn’s portrayer, Eden McCoy, chatted with Soap Opera Digest to break down the implications for her character.

“I loved that moment,” says McCoy of the scene in which Josslyn finds the message Anna scrawled last autumn: “Anna Devane was held captive here. I was taken on 10-31-25.”
The message isn’t necessarily a one-way ticket to freedom, but it does change the complexion of Josslyn’s crisis. Explains McCoy, “I think a bunch of different things are going through her mind when she sees what Anna wrote. The first one is, ‘Oh, my God — this happened to somebody else!’ The second is, ‘What does this mean?'”
As Joss puzzles out what it means that Anna — who also has ties to the WSB — was held in the same place, McCoy explains, “She sees it as confirmation that Anna was onto something. Josslyn has suspected that there was some sort of missing piece to what’s been going on because of all this Cesar Faison stuff. It also makes Josslyn realize that what happened to Anna was a targeted attack.”
Anna was able to escape from Wyndemere, but by that point, she’d been fed mind-altering drugs that caused her to hallucinate guests in her cell — including two dead people, Faison (Anders Hove) and Peter August (Wes Ramsey). “But finding out that Anna was being held prisoner shows Josslyn that this isn’t about someone just losing their mind all of a sudden,” McCoy says. “It confirms to her that there’s something much larger going on.”
McCoy notes, “On the one hand, that’s even more terrifying to Josslyn — but on the other, it’s kind of inspirational, like, ‘Wow, Anna is so smart and so tough and she was able to leave me this message, and maybe I can use this information somehow.’ It gives her a glimmer of hope that she’s going to be able to get out of there.”
Her next order of business? “She’s going to try to get Cassius to admit that he knows Anna was held there,” reports McCoy. “She’s kind of been getting to know him, and he’s opened up to her a bit. She’s hoping that if she confronts him about this, he’ll give her some more details about what he’s a part of.”
But even if she strikes out with Cassius, Joss isn’t necessarily out of options. “There’s another little twist coming up,” the GH star hints. “Something else involving Anna that’s another really cool moment….”
