Comings and Goings: 6 Young and Restless Stars Poised For Massive Crossover To Beyond The Gates!
At the TCA (Television Critics Association) panel for Beyond the Gates held on Tuesday, January 27, CBS announced what it is touting as a “landmark daytime television event, a sweeping multi-episode crossover between its powerhouse daytime dramas Beyond the Gates and The Young and the Restless.” This is the third time BTG has received crossover visits from cast members from its sister CBS soaps — but this crossover will feature a whopping six stars from Genoa City!
Going Places
In a press release, CBS shared more details about what fans can expect from the upcoming crossover. “The ambitious storyline will transport six iconic residents from Y&R’s Genoa City into BTG’s posh, gated community Fairmont Crest and will air on Beyond the Gates in June,” the network revealed. The “iconic” residents in question? Victor Newman, played by Eric Braeden; Jack Abbott, played by Peter Bergman; Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor); Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters); Devon Winters (Bryton James) and Abby Newman Winters (Melissa Ordway).
“In the episodes, longtime close friends Vernon Dupree [Clifton Davis] and the powerful patriarch of the Newman family, the legendary Victor Newman, arriving in grand style at Fairmont Crest, reunite at a high-profile political fundraiser,” the press release explained of what brings Victor to the BTG canvas. “Over the years, Victor has backed Vernon’s political campaigns, while Vernon has championed legislation benefiting Newman Enterprises, an alliance built on loyalty, influence, and mutual gain. Now, Vernon has asked Victor to serve as the keynote speaker for his grandson Martin’s [Brandon Claybon] fundraiser.”
As it turns out, Martin is also connected to a Genoa City mainstay. At the fundraiser, fans can also expect to see Kyle, who is friends with Martin; the press release says that the men “first bonded in New York City after college.” Martin invites Kyle to attend the big event, and he attends “alongside his parents, Jack and Diane.”
Devon and his wife, Abby, “are also on the VIP guest list, with Devon fielding an unexpected business opportunity from Anita Dupree [Tamara Tunie],” the press release continues. “As the evening unfolds, a shocking event occurs, abruptly derailing the fundraiser and triggering dramatic consequences that will impact every guest in attendance.”
Devon’s portrayer, Bryton James, was the first CBS soap star to cross over to BTG, appearing in August 2025 and sharing scenes with Clifton Davis, Tamara Tunie and Karla Mosley. Shortly thereafter, Bold and Beautiful actor Thorsten Kaye made his own crossover as Ridge, and interacted with Mosley and Sean Freeman (Andre).
