Summary

Senior Writer Devin Owens started his career with Soap Opera Digest in 1997 as an editorial assistant and went on to cover B&B and then Y&R. His association with soaps first began in high school, listening to fellow students moon over Y&R’s Snapper. However, the first soap he started watching was AS THE WORLD TURNS during the summer when Meg Ryan’s Betsy — and her trademark scarves — was one of the most popular daytime darlings. His Digest job has not only given him the opportunity to interview soap giants, but also musical guest stars like Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Pat Benatar and Enrique Iglesias plus screen legends Tippi Hedren, Shirley Jones and Betty White. Although he also wrote for the teen magazine, Pixie (with interviews that included Zendaya, Demi Lovato and Ariana Grande), and several stand-alone issues of different informative topics, writing about soaps continues to be the dream job it started out to be.
