Young And Restless Rewind: Nate Hastings And The Women He Loved

When Dr. Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) first came to Genoa City in 2019 to join the staff at Memorial Hospital, he was still recovering from the death of his beloved fiancée, Carolyn, who passed in 2017. Since that heartbreaking event, the physician has healed himself by romancing these dynamic Young and Restless women.

Abby Newman-Abbott

Shortly after arriving in Genoa City, Nate found himself captivated by Abby (Melissa Ordway), and while her interest was piqued as well, her track record of getting burned by men caused her to resist a new relationship. When the heiress accepted Nate’s invitation to a home-cooked meal at his place, they surprised each other by having sex for dessert (that pineapple upside-down cake would have to keep). Despite a great time had by all, Abby insisted that she still wasn’t interested in couple-dom, so their romp ended up on her trash heap of one-nighters. However, Nate continued to ply his charm until Abby finally let her guard down and she allowed the good doctor into her heart. Meanwhile, Nate had been covertly treating Victor for a rare blood disease (paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria, if you must know) but even with medication, The Mustache wasn’t faring well. Nate discovered that someone had been tampering with the pills and that what Victor was being administered contained twice the dosage. With Paul and Nate’s help, Victor staged his death, which ultimately exposed Adam as the culprit. When Adam exhibited remorse, Victor forgave his son, which ticked off Paul and Nate, who followed Vic’s plan to procure an arrest. Nate felt especially conned, so he dumped Abby.

Amanda Sinclair

In 2020, the medical board of Wisconsin didn’t look too kindly at Nate’s role in the Victor-is-dead fake-out and sought to revoke Dr. Hastings’s license to practice. Facing the end of his medical career, Nate hired hot-shot attorney Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) to defend him and she vigorously did just that. Despite a mutual attraction, lawyer and client maintained a professional relationship until he was cleared of the charges and then they started dating. However, both parties agreed that they didn’t want to rush things and proceeded with caution.

Elena Dawson

In 2020, Dr. Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) was supposedly in love with boyfriend Devon, which is why she tried valiantly to hide her attraction to his cousin, Nate. That was tough since they worked together at Memorial, plus Devon wanted them as part of the staff for the low-cost medical clinic he was building to help the disadvantaged. However, after the docs saved a teenager from an overdose, they celebrated their victory by having sex on the exam table. Elena felt so guilty that she confessed to Devon, who, after ordering her to move out of his penthouse, blabbed to Amanda what her boyfriend did. The next time Devon crossed paths with his cousin at Grand Phoenix, the resulting altercation left Nate with such a severely cut hand that he couldn’t perform surgery anymore. Although Nate and Elena were in love, she had sex with Devon in 2021 but Nate forgave her. With his career in medicine now over, Lily and Devon enticed him to come aboard at Chancellor-Winters and he accepted. In 2022, Amanda’s sister Imani tried to lure Nate away from Elena but failed. However, Nate soon felt stifled and underappreciated when Devon kept turning down his ideas, so he secretly threw in with Victoria for Newman to take over C-W. When Elena found out, she guilted Nate into confessing to his cousins that he was poised to sell them out. He was fired, and Nate accepted Victoria’s job offer to join Team Newman.

Victoria Newman

At Newman, Nate appreciated Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) encouragement and open dialogue to be creative and they soon established a solid working relationship. It soon became apparent that the boss had feelings for her underling and flirting commenced. Nate remained committed to Elena even though they were going through rocky times. Following a positive business meeting, Victoria impulsively kissed Nate but then pretended it didn’t happen. It wasn’t long until they were exchanging smooches and Elena suspected something was amiss with her boyfriend and Victoria. When confronted, Nate assured Elena that they were fine. Victoria asked Nate to join her on a business trip to Los Angeles, but he fibbed to Elena that he would be traveling on his own. In L.A., Nate and Victoria finally had sex, which neither one regretted. A curious Elena flew out to the West Coast and discovered that Nate wasn’t alone like he first claimed, so he confessed that he and Victoria had made love. Victor gave his approval on Victoria and Nate’s relationship and they went public with their relationship. Victoria appointed her boyfriend COO of Newman and gave him more and more power, although Victor rejected his daughter’s suggestion to make Nate her co-CEO. Victor gave up retirement to be CEO again and Victoria was demoted. Victoria then suspected her dad was having mental problems but he confessed that he was in tip-top shape and was faking his disorientation in order to draw out whoever was going to betray him. Victor then accused Nate of trying to backstab him and Hastings was upset that Victoria didn’t stand up for him. He ended their relationship and after Devon and Lily granted Nate forgiveness, he returned to Chancellor-Winters.

Audra Charles

Nate first met Audra (Zuleyka Silver), an advisor, in 2022, when she was hired to facilitate the C-W IPO. However, she was exposed as working undercover for Tucker to help him take over the company, which got her fired. Still, Nate was impressed with Audra’s ambition and drive, and they remained friends while she was plotting and sleeping with Tucker during 2023. After Nate’s relationship with Victoria imploded, Nate focused on not only salvaging his ties with Devon and Lily, but he was determined to make C-W a big success. In 2024, Nate was wowed when Audra engineered a hostile takeover of Tucker’s cosmetics company, Glissade. In celebration, Nate and Audra finally slept together. While she’s been determined to keep things casual, they seem to be developing some real feelings for each other. Will they go the distance? Stay tuned.
