“Well, you just get it over with. It’s like shaking hands. It’s not any more important than that. If it’s somebody you don’t like or don’t have a connection with, it changes the chemistry completely, so it depends on what your relationship is with that person. But the way to do it is you just think of it like giving someone a pat on the back.”

“Oh, that has definitely happened to me in the past. Sometimes, if you really dislike that person, it makes the kiss even better, because there’s already a weird, like, hatred passion between you. As they say, there’s a thin line between love and hate!”

“I was taught in acting class, ‘If you don’t like their nose, look at their eyes. If you don’t like their eyes, look somewhere else.’ You have to figure out a way to like the person if you’re going to be kissing them and playing that emotion. It’s never been hard for me because I always find something to like in the actor.”

“You have to do it whether you like it or not so for me, I always try to talk about it first. I try to be 100 percent present and keep eye contact. If they can’t stand you when you’re looking eye-to-eye, something changes. It gives you the upper hand and puts the ball in your court.”

“No, because the shoot dates for those kind of scenes were usually pushed out far enough where I’ve been able to build a relationship with that person as far as a friendship. So, whatever first impressions that you have fall away and you see the person for who they really are. Because we’re usually able to become friends, I’ve never had that, ‘Oh, I can’t believe I have to do this.’ ”

“No, not for me. I never overthink it like that. To me, it’s just part of the scene and acting. The reverse is true, too. I don’t dwell on kissing somebody who’s really hot, either. Well, maybe once or twice [laughs].”

“I’ve never had to kiss an actress I don’t like so, would it be hard? I think yeah, it might be hard. At the end of the day it’s our job, but even though we are portraying a character, we’re very much still ourselves. I understand you have to look past that but yeah, it might be a little hard for me to do that!”
