The 411
Stuart Damon — born Stuart Michael Zonis — always loved making people laugh. The son of struggling Russian immigrants who came to America during the Bolshevik Revolution and settled in Brooklyn, NY, Damon become heavily involved in musical theater as a child. But instead of acting professionally, Damon attended Brandeis University in MA and earned a B.A. in psychology. He was on his way to becoming a lawyer when he finally realized his passion for the theater was too great. After accepting more than 50 lead roles in numerous summer stock shows, Damon landed his first Broadway role in the chorus line of Irma La Douce. In 1965, the actor went to Hollywood to star with Lesley Ann Warren in the now-classic TV musical production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's CINDERELLA. The program attracted worldwide attention, which led to a 12-year acting run in England. Once he returned to the States, Damon signed on to GH, where he remained until Alan succumbed to a heart attack in early 2007.
During 2007 and 2008, Damon made numerous appearances as Alan's ghost, who returned to Port Charles to haunt his dishonest sister, Tracy, over her mishandling of his will.
