The 411

Robin Christopher can be considered an overnight sensation. Spotted by a photographer in Boston as a teenager, she left her strict, Catholic upbringing and immediately headed to Japan for a three-month modeling stint. Following jobs in London and Germany, Christopher returned to the States. Unsure of her future, she passed up two fine arts scholarships — one to Boston College and one to Boston University — and headed to New York City to continue modeling. Creatively, however, Christopher wasn't satisfied. At age 21, she decided to focus on acting and landed the role of Adam Chandler's daughter, Skye, on ALL MY CHILDREN. Four years later, the actress packed her bags and headed out West to try her luck at prime-time and film. She quickly realized the Hollywood lifestyle wasn't for her and moved back to the Big Apple to give soaps (this time, the recast role of Lorna on ANOTHER WORLD) another try. But Christopher wasn't alone — she had her fiancé, Jacob, by her side. As that relationship fizzled, a new one was beginning: Christopher was falling for her AW co-star, Matt Crane. When her contract wasn't renewed in 1997, she and Crane (who quit shortly after) planned on moving back to California. Then, ONE LIFE TO LIVE came calling. The actress brought her AMC character of Skye to Llanview, where she called home for two years. During that time, she and Crane became husband and wife. Living happily, Christopher got even more good news when ABC asked her if she'd be interested in moving Skye to GENERAL HOSPITAL. Ecstatic to move back to Los Angeles, Christopher said yes. After gettting away with Lorenzo Alcazar's murder in late 2007, Skye walked away from Port Chalres in January 2008.

Memorable Quotes

"Those love scenes are tough. There is a part of me that wishes I could really be there [mentally] for every single moment [of the love scene], but I just can't help it. I think about what I had for lunch or how work is going. I mean, with my Catholic upbringing, sometimes there's some guilt. My dad growls over the love scenes." — Soap Opera Digest, 11/17/87

"I used to say I don't believe in long engagements, but it's amazing how you change. It's all about trust, and knowing that I'm with Matt ... there's really no pressure." — Digest, 12/14/99

"That should be Skye's motto: ‘Look past my Fendi and see my feelings!'" — Digest, 1/29/02
