THE 411

Forester, who was born Nicole Theresa Schmidt, grew up in the sleepy suburbs of Michigan. After graduating from a performance arts high school outside of Detroit, the aspiring actress set her sights on the stage. She spent a year studying musical theater at Western Michigan University before packing her bags to finish her degree at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. After graduation, she changed her surname to Forester (her paternal grandmother's maiden name) and the auditions rolled in. She landed several recurring roles on various television series (she played Steve's girlfriend on BEVERLY HILLS, 90210), appeared in TV movies of the week and even landed bit parts in feature films including Simpatico, starring Jeff Bridges and Sharon Stone.

After spending 13 years in L.A., a burned-out Forester was searching for a fresh start, so she uprooted herself again and moved to New York. She spent six months on a friend's couch in Queens before GUIDING LIGHT came calling in 2005. She auditioned for the show, not knowing the role was Laura Wright's (ex-Cassie) replacement. Her steamy smooch with GL co-star Bradley Cole (Jeffrey) left a big impression on Casting Director Rob Decina and Forester got the part. Despite the tough job of filling Wright's shoes, Forester has truly made the role of Cassie her own since joining the GL cast.
