The 411
Chad Brannon grew up in Houston with his parents, Steve and Marla Bridges and Glenn and Debra Brannon, and siblings Lacey, Jolene, Jana and Jason. Though Brannon was an athlete throughout high school and planned to be a lawyer, he snagged the lead in a school play and was instantly bitten by the acting bug.
After attending Sam Houston State University for a year-and-a-half, Brannon headed west to Los Angeles. There, he landed his first role in CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE SOUL on PAX and also shot episodes of JAG, MALCOLM IN THE MIDDLE and MTV's UNDRESSED. That lead to his breakthrough role as Zander (as a recast) in 2000. Brannon won the SOAP OPERA DIGEST Award in 2001 for Outstanding Male Newcomer and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actor this year.
