In 1996, Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) and Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) tied the knot on Young and Restless, with Nina McNeil (Tricia Cast) serving as Chris's matron of honor and Ryan McNeil (Scott Reeves) serving as Paul's best man. The couple split in 2001, and though they remarried in 2013, they wound up divorcing again. This ceremony marked the third marriage for Paul, who had previously wed April Stevens and Lauren Fenmore. In 2008, Passions aired its series finale on DirecTV. The campy, supernatural soap had premiered on NBC in July 1999. As the last episode got underway, Mount Harmony had erupted and lava was looming to spill and devastate the town. Witch Tabitha went to blind Father Lonigan to be baptized; if he agreed, Harmony would be spared this impending doom. The priest refused, but when he learned that Tabby had sacrificed her powers to save others, he had a change of heart. Baby Endora then cast a spell that gave him back his sight. Lovebirds Ethan and Theresa finally wed (after Theresa busted up his would-be wedding to Gwen by exposing the machinations of Gwen and her mother, Rebecca), designed to keep her and Ethan apart. Kay used her magical powers to correct the botched surgery on Julian’s “Little Julian,” and both Fancy and Paloma were thrilled to tell their respective husbands, Luis and Noah, that they were pregnant.

In 2009, Young and Restless’s Adam Newman (then-Michael Muhney) was confronted by Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) for his involvement with Rafe (who Adam had been cozying up to and pretending to be attracted to for his own selfish reasons). Adam insisted to Heather that he was not gay and that he wanted to marry her, but Heather denounced Adam as a cheater and walked out on him.
