Wally Kurth (Ned, GH; Justin, DAYS): “Meeting my wife, Debra. It was love at first sight, kind of like Justin and Adrienne. That was definitely a soapy moment. She’s from a different town, I was from a different town, and I just happened to be there for that one night, for a charity event at the Pittsburgh Zoo. She was wearing a glittery pink dress; she says she’d never worn pink in her life, and little did she know, she met the man of her life. She came over and introduced herself and away we went.”
Mary Beth Evans (Kayla, DAYS): “Stephen’s [Nichols, Steve] daughter ran into my son at the beach. The two of us have been a couple on DAYS for years, and I thought it was funny that our children ran into each other at some random place. It’s the kind of thing you’d see on a soap opera, when two young characters run into each other at some random place, and their parents share all this history.”
Eric Martsolf (Brady, DAYS): “It would have to be my wedding day. It was overcast the entire morning for the outdoor wedding by the beach, and the moment [wife] Lisa made her entrance, the clouds literally parted and sunlight drowned the space. It had the perfect timing and lighting of a daytime drama.”
Melissa Ordway (Abby, Y&R): “The process of adoption [for daughter Olivia] had a lot of ups and downs, with dramatic moments. We had a really great experience overall, but it was definitely a little dramatic at times.”
Thorsten Kaye (Ridge, B&B): “A couple of years ago [in 2015], we had that fan event in New York which doubled as a wedding reception for Ridge and Caroline, and that was pretty surreal. [On the show] the characters had this private wedding on the beach, just the two of them, so the afternoon was like their reception. There was a wedding cake. Linsey [Godfrey, Caroline] and I had a first dance together. It was us, the actors, meeting fans and answering their questions and things but yet, it was like we were acting out a Forrester wedding reception at the same time. John [McCook] gave us a toast as Eric. Linsey threw the bouquet. The lines were really blurred. I kept waiting for someone to yell, ‘Cut!’ but that never came [laughs].”
Courtney Hope (Sally, B&B): “Being whisked away to Australia earlier this year [to film Liam and Steffy’s wedding] felt very soap-like. That was something that had never happened to me before.”
