“At first, I thought I had to burn incense because they gave me Susan’s [Flannery, ex-Stephanie] room and she is so revered and respected. She’s a tough one, but after having dinner with that woman, I simply fell in love with her and now I appreciate every inch of every pillow that’s in this room. It’s right off the soundstage, which is actually a good thing and a bad thing. If your room is all the way down the hall, when you’re late to set you can say that it was because of where your room is and that there was traffic. But I’m right there, so they always know where they can find me — and I can’t say that I wasn’t watching sports because they can hear it. It’s tough to hide out in this room.”

“There are my girls [Marlowe, near r., and McKenna]. Those pictures remind me why I’m doing this and why I’m going back and forth [to tape B&B in L.A. from his home in Connecticut] and missing out on spending time with them. But it’s all for them and seeing their smiles, it just reminds me of how cool my kids are.”

“In anybody’s workplace, not just mine, you want to surround yourselves with things that make you happy — and there is nothing better for me to do that with than the Detroit Red Wings. I found a company that could make stickers of the Detroit center ice through the years at Joe Louis Arena [in Detroit, MI] and this one is from the 75-year celebration of my boys. It’s really cool.”

“This is my library. As you can see, I have a wide range of interests. Unfortunately, you can’t see it in the photo because it’s just off to the left, but I also have the program from the celebration of life of David Canary [ex-Adam/Stuart, ALL MY CHILDREN, who passed away in 2015]. I got to speak there, which was such a treat for me because he is, was, one of the most favorite people in my life. When you get to the point where you’re looking back, you want to be at least as half as good a person as he was. He was real and honest and fair and kind — all those things you want to mark off the checklist for being a good person.”

"This is what we call 'a little color'. As you can probably guess, I don't spend a lot of my time decorating in here."

“Marlowe is my little artist and she drew a picture of our family when I first took this job. The other one she drew is of me on the beach with a puppy. She’s such a good artist.”

“Somehow, that cardboard cutout of James Corden’s CARPOOL KARAOKE suddenly went missing and it ended up here. It’s the strangest thing. I have no idea how it got here, but I figure I don’t want to throw it out now. Plus, it’s really cool when people come by to visit — especially the kids. I’ll take it down off the wall and they can pop their heads in for the ‘karaoke’ part of the tour. If you check out the license plate, it’s very cleverly titled, ‘Cardboard Karaoke’. Luckily, no one in their right mind would ever ask me to sing anything because I can barely talk but if I were ever asked, I would perform something from a silent movie.”
