Ladies In Red
GUIDING LIGHT bad girls are known for rocking the boat wherever they go. But who knew that they also have an affinity for the color red? Olivia carried on that tradition when she recently wore a red ditty bought by Phillip to the Beacon and — surprise! — caused many tongues to wag.
Rita’s (Lenore Kasdorf) love for Ed (Mart Hulswit) ran deep, but her lust for Alan ran deeper. Their island affair jumped to the mainland in 1981. Although they were never caught red-handed, Andy figured out their connection and blackmailed them. Later that year, the truth came out, Ed divorced her and Rita fled to San Francisco.
In Springfield, Reva (Kim Zimmer) and red are synonymous. (She would often don a red dress when she wanted to stir up some excitement.) Though her heart belonged to Josh, this red-blooded vixen cozied up to his brother and father (not to mention a Spaulding and a Sampson) before tying the knot with her soul mate in 1989. Contrary to popular belief, while Reva had an affinity for red, she did not wear that color during her famous “Slut of Springfield” scene in 1984. (She wore off-white.)
